Well, how about you don't tell the Ossifer what isn't his damn business anyway? Ask another cop, etc. who don't know you or does not work there. They aren't privy to our every move, don't ask permission for that which God has already granted you permission by law of nature.

But...bladeimm is absolutetly correct: cops say they'll take it, so THEY can have it. If the damned thing was felonious to carry in your area(where ever that is) they'd simply haul you away. Yes, demand a receipt, and if you are certain you're in the right, call their bluff, politely, if they say that they will arrest you.
Thank you for the comment. Because there is no clip, I slide the kydex between my pants and my body and tuck the lanyard/sennit attached to the sheath down as an anchor. The texture and the lanyard keep the kydex from coming along with a draw. It's not perfect, seems to work. I carry at the appendix (front right). I don't do this for very long periods of time.
Do you have any experience or knowledge with Perrin's "Shark"?
