I had it too with source games. You must probably allow the game in the router.

@Elssuh so can you explain more about how u fixed it? I have 3 computers and 3 of them have this problem too and they all happen at the exact same time in the same game, I knew it was the router but I still don't know how to fix it..

@SoldierTown Oh well it dosen't need a super CPU my answer of this problem was so stupidly simple : re-download TF2 to repair all files that corrupt the game and make me crash after 10 mins of gameplay :DDDD

Ok, everyone; I had this exact same problem.

I fixed it, and it was nothing to do with my computer of TF2.

It was a faulty router that ate up my bandwidth for no reason suring random internet sessions, and had nothing to do with static or Dynamic IP adresses.

I removed it and BAM smooth internet.

I got a problem : TF2 runs perfectly but recently (about since now) after 10 mins or so i joined a server TF2 randomly freezes and commit suicide poping up the "hl2.exe has stopped working" (i got a processor lower than the minimal requirement <-- old crappy computer i know but still before everything worked without any issues)

i think that maybe a phone line or something is interfering with your connection (most likely if it is wireless), if your connection is wireless then you could always moving the modem.

I got tf2 when it became free, and I played it several days no problem, and then for some reason every time I die I never respawn and the game quits also one time it quit I got the message "Cmdl out of memory" anyone know why this may happen?

this happens on consoles as well. im play an fps on my ps3 and screen would freeze so i hard reset and play again. Its probably from overheat from playin too long or u need to clean out the dust. its better to play in a cool area with ac on

@ninotimecrisisfan there is an option where uu can change the servers to un simplified then it shows all the maps and games withouut haveing the same picture hopes it helps

This has been happening to me for weeks, but i was able to fix it. It's a problem with your rates.

TO FIX:

1: Open your console ( ` )

2: Type the following:

cl_cmdrate 67

cl_updaterate 67

rate 25000

This ought to fix your freezing problem.

Cicerox, it doesnt appear to be a video card problem although I share the same video card brand as you, whenever my internet is capped I get this problem, as soon as it resets, it's back to normal. This is what happens when your internet disconnected (along with the WARNING: CONNECTION PROBLEM in the top right corner)

I get the same problem... I tried forwarding ports for Steam and TF2 and that didn't work either.

This is driving me insane.

I've been looking all over the net for a solution but I can't find one. The only thing that I can find is that this thing has only been happening to people ever since the end of 2008, beginning 2009. So it's pretty recent. Maybe it's an update gone wrong either on the video card or steam :/

It looks like its your connection, because thats what happens when you get disconnected from a server.

I get this all the time as well, fucking annoying shit. I tried everything; reinstalling the game, reinstalling windows (plz that had to work, but didn't), reinstalling drivers, updating drivers, defragging my hard drive, shutting down background processes etc.

that used to happen to me then after about 5 min. it would just say that I timed out. all I did to fix this was open up a few ports and make sure that my firewall wasn't doing anything to the game.

dude even though it say u meet the "standard" requirements(which is all video settings on "LOW")

If u meet the "recommended" requirements,

u r able to run tf2 on "VERY high" stettings at 1680 X 1080 with no problems at all...

Try lowering your resolution untill its playable...

MAybe drop the tf2 vid settings down gradually

this was happening to me so i got a 8800gt for 200 bucks new and can max out everything and get 60+ fps...hope it helps

I have this problem. i play CSS for about 10 minutes then it sais i have lost connection to steam and leaves the game. no matter what sever i join. then i go back to join a server and i can see alot proving that i still have internet connection. but i have 2 corrupted files in windows system 32 which may be why.

its a server connection that causes this. sometimes it gets lag spikes that it freezes and it might be the server hasnt been resetted in awhile. its nothing about steam or your comp specs its the server.

its called lag-rape... and its because ur using queue mode for fps boost... gg
