im am one of those old school ff fans who hated despised final fantasy 13, my main reason for not liking it was it was held so high in my expections for the first ff released on the ps3 when i got it hateded the story, couldent not really much to do in that game except follow the story, then the usuall complaints liniar, bad characters, it was such a let down for me. However i have played ff13-2 they fixed everything and it is how it should have been, gameplay anyway, not sure about the story.
I really hate the idea that linearity was the problem with ff13. No it had a terrible story, with a terrible dull and poorly thought out world, with terrible characters. It doesn't matter how much freedom you put in the game, how much choice. At the end of the day it is simply a poor universe they have crafted here.
@mxdirector Im really curious about your thought proccess. According to Famitsu, it had a great story, great characters, fun, strategic gameplay, beautiful graphics and the only problem being linear. It got a near-perfect score. I personally would give it a 8/10 (and so far the demo for FF13-2 gets a 9.5/10. I spent 2 hours in the demo, and I wanted more).
I already Ordered my copy of the game FF- Xlll-2. Looking forward to playing , I'm a Final Fantasy Fan back on the NES days in the late 80's and like the idea of not being able to see the monsters, that was the best part of the challenge getting forced to fight when you least expect. I was curious and was told leveling up is does not work like in FF-Xlll? Great Tutorial Thanks for sharing.

The combat system and open world(ish) are the good parts of the demo.

I never really liked Final Fantasy. I know they're good games, but I just don't care for them.
