  • needless tests...that's a good one

  • I have tears streaming down my face... from disgust in humanity and the shock of the ruthless lies in media... for what... money? DEVIL DAMNED COMMERCIAL WHORES!!! I am sick of this bloodshed... both in wars AND laboratories... what is the damned point in collecting natural resources leaving mentally deranged humane beings, crippled by the machinery on both lands, bombarded with ''protecting country'' bullcrap!!! This is flipping sick. SICK. SICK. SICK!!!!

  • Fuck humans!

  • I always thought animal testing was a necessary evil for science to progress...I guess not...

  • This is so disturbing smh just heart breaking , shame on these people !!!!

  • um... Gillette does animal test... hello? P&G. But, I'm so going to show this to my friends and family. Thank you for posting this! It's so sad how people are lacking so much on knowledge so they choose to animal test.

  • it ONLY takes ignorance to do EVIL, a simple ignorance can lead to dark catastrophes. strange to see how some so-called scientists can be ignorant !!

  • lets all the kill the bitch which comes on at 3:55

  • this is fucking sick, that little monkey, trapped in a tiny cage with a metal pole stuck through it's head? they don't NEED to do that, do they? fair enough, test small amounts of drugs on animals which humans NEED, but not enough to kills and torture them. This is actually inhumane, I don't understand how anyone could get a job in any of these labs, it's fucking disgusting, they could test in a more humane way, maybe by actually putting them to sleep rather than literally torturing them! ergh.

  • umm. Gillette TESTS ON ANIMALS! THey are on the list of companies that DO test on animals... why does she say they don't test on animals?

  • Seeing the fear in the monkey's eyes at 1.15 and the kitten screaming at 4.43 just makes me so fucking mad

  • Seeing the fear in the monkey's eyes at 1.15 and the kitten screaming at 4.43 just makes me so fucking mad

  • It's unbelievable that after despite decades of failure - scientists still manage to convince people with this fantasy that experiments on animals may eventually deliver cures for human illnesses. How many more years and laboratories do they want? Animal testing has been a spectacular failure with many millions of animals put through the most horrific cruelty with no end result - despite the same old promises, emotional blackmail and reassurances from politicians and pharmaceutical companies.

  • @swwf85 i sympathize with animal rights groups, but you can't deny the advance in science due to research on animals. For examples, by researching fruit flies, that is how we first understand what genes are. By researching worms, we discovery the existence of microRNA, a hot topic in cancer research. And research in pigs lead to important contribution for many surgeries + tissue replacements. I think animal testing is useless, but you can't deny animal RESEARCH has brought benefits.

  • @swwf85 How can you be so ignorant? animal testing has definately helped cure many diseases. Many nobel prizes have been given to scientists finding cures for both humans and animals due to animal testing. a lot of the movies on the video have been played out. Ive been to multiple animal research facilities and there are MANY ethical rules of how to handle and treat the animals. To disagree with animal testing you would not be allowed to use any medications whatsoever.

  • i feel betrayed by MAC and estee lauder, because they selled their products as cruelty free and untested for many years. now i am doing research on companies which do not test, but who will guarantee me now, that this is the whole truth??

  • but big red signs "WE TESTED THIS PRODUCT ON ANIMALS". i would also prefer that. it can be rally frustrating sometimes, but when i think about it, a rabbit had died, so i can wear make up, that`s just a no go for obvious reasons!

i dont even use MAC cosmetics anymore, after estee lauder confessed, they`re doing third party testing. cruel sad world! :(

  • really thank you for this vid. i am from switzerland and i tell you guys something: it is soooo hard here to go REALLY cruelty free. means no finished product testing, no companies which let test other companies or third party testing. i am really into make up, but i definitely try to go cruelty free. i avoid animal testing companies, but the cruelty free ones are so damn hard to get. the rest is available almost everywhere. the make uo guru talkinmakeup said, she wants no cruelty free signs

  • The real irony is that a great number of people posting the hate comments against Scientists and animal research are alive BECAUSE of animal research .When it comes to drug testing, animal models are the best option .If a diabetic person wants to stop using products produced by animal testing he/she will also have to stop using insulin which is produced by animal testing and contains animal proteins , which will kill him/her.

  • When it comes to pointless tests or vanity, I'm against animal testing.

When it skin graphs or other alternatives don't work and it's for the pure purpose of medicine and can greatly improve human lives, I'm for animal testing.

  • some people are so stupid! why harm animal when they have found better solutions! you scientists are some jackasses >:[

  • I am for the ethical treatment of animals, but put your efforts into REAL pointless things such animal fights, rodeos, animals that are not neuthered and left behind in the streets...

  • You need animals because you need to see how the drug is metabolized by the body. Observing only tissues is pointless. Finally, animal testings ensure pre-safety guidelines before human testing. That's right, human testing. Humans end up being tested too. Have you ever heard of thalidomide? A teratogenic drug given to pregnant women in the 60's to relax? Babies were born deformed (missing legs...) because no prior animal testing had been done before human use.

  • @260191894

According to the US FDA 92% of new drugs fail in clinical trials, after they have passed all the safety tests in animals. US FDA (2004) "Innovation or Stagnation, Challenge and Opportunity on the Critical Path to new Medical Products"

real drug testing is called microdosing and is done firstly on human tcells then computer model then MICRO dosed in humans with condition to be remedied. see drugtestingconference. com

  • @260191894 teh real reasons for animal 'tests'...“Animal studies are done for legal reasons and not for scientific reasons. The predictive value of such studies for man is meaningless.”; - Dr James D. Gallagher; Director of Medical Research; Lederle Laboratories; Journal of the American Medical Association; March 14 1964.;

  • @260191894 “…rats are refractory to thalidomide-induced teratogenesis” (Neurotoxicol Teratol. 2001 May-Jun;23(3):255-64. Neurobehavioral teratogenic effects of thalidomide in rats. Vorhees CV, Weisenburger WP, Minck DR)

“We chose a dose of thalidomide close to the estimated amount required to produce human anomalies. This dose had no detectable toxic effects in the monkey” (Science 1963;139:1294-95)

  • @260191894 “Grünenthal has tried to reproduce phocomelia in rats, mice, and rabbits and has failed, In Keil the drug was fed to hens and the chicks were normal.” (Helen Taussig, Journal of the American Medical Association, June 30, 1962: A Study of the German Outbreak of Phocomelia: The Thalidomide Syndrome)

  • @260191894 “Numerous attempts to reproduce the malformations which occured in human babies from Thalidomide-treated mothers have met with only limited success. Although many representatives of aves [birds] and mammalian experimental species have been investigated for this purpose, the results fall short of paralleling the effect of the drug on the human foetus.” (Nature 1966;210:958-959)

  • @260191894 “The extensive animal reproductive studies to which all new drugs are now subjected are more in ...the nature of a public relations exercise than a serious contribution to drug safety.” (Prof R W Smithells, Monitoring for Drug Safety, ed. Inman, p 306-313, 1980)

  • @260191894 “The great majority of perinatal toxicological studies seem to be intended to convey medico-legal protection to the pharmaceutical houses and political protection to the official regulatory bodies, rather than produce information that might be of value in human therapeutics.” (Prof D F Hawkins, Professor of Obstetric Therapeutics & Gynaecology, Hammersmith Hospital, London, in the book Drugs and Pregnancy: Human Teratogenesis and Related Problems)

  • @260191894 “More than 800 chemicals have been defined as teratogens in laboratory animals, but only a few of these, approximately 20, have been shown to be teratogenic in humans. This discrepancy can be attributed to differences in metabolism, sensitivity and exposure time.” (Dr Beat Schmid, Trends in Pharmacological Sciences; 8:133, 1987)

that is a 97.5% failure rate

  • @260191894 “In approximately 10 strains of rats, 15 strains of mice, 11 breeds of rabbits, 2 breeds of dogs, 3 strains of hamsters, 8 species of primates and in other such varied species as cats, armadillos, guinea pigs, swine and ferrets in which thalidomide has been tested, teratogenic effects have been induced only occasionally.” (Schardein, JL, Drugs as Teratogens, 1976 and Schardein, JL, Chemically Induced Birth Defects, Marcel Dekker 1985)

  • @260191894 Thalidomide was animal tested and not only did the animal tests not predict its effects they were used to do their real job, provide legal protection to the manufacturer, so no payouts to those 10,000 deformed kids and thier families because the animal 'tests' did not predict it. see quotes below

  • Ok: next time you are sick, don't go to the hospital. If you do, then you're a hypocrite. If you don't, I have some respect for you.

  • @260191894 Who are you responding to? Hospitals and medical advances have nothiong to do with animal experiments, ie there is no causal relationshi[p between them. If you believe there is one please say so

  • [mouse models are] woefully inadequate…if you look at the millions and millions and millions of mice that have been cured, and you compare that to the relative success, or lack thereof, that we've achieved in the treatment of metastatic disease clinically, you realize that there just has to be something wrong with those models. Homer Pearce, research fellow at Eli Lilly. Fortune, 9th March.2004

  • Riverdexter "just like the rest of us"...speak for YOUR FUCKIN SELF.

  • PETA, you are all HYPOCRITE ANIMAL KILLERS just like the rest of us. Shut it already.

  • So when they bring up the subject of stem cell research, where human embryos are used, how does PETA and ALF feel about that? Or how about the abortion of babies in the mother's womb? Is that considered murder and cruelty to snip the spinal chord of a fetus with curved scissors and then remove the baby piece by piece? I don't hear or see a whole lot of sympathy for babies coming from PETA or ALF nor do they endorse it. As long as they and their followers turn a blind eye to humans. U R NO BETTER

  • @mojoeshaw abortion is not necessary for stem cell research or any other real scientific method (often called 'alternatives')

  • @noratmedicine Last I heard, they had discovered a way to manufacture the cells needed to replicate stem cells. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the cells they can now replicate are actually proving to be better than stem cells. Just what I read somewhere. The sacrifice of embryos is not longer needed. Of course, neither is abortion.

  • @mojoeshaw great.

  • 2007

We have learned well how to treat cancer in mice and rats but we still can’t cure people. Professor Colin Garner, quoted in Accelerator MS Is a Powerful New Tool, Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News, Vol. 27, No. 15.

  • Zz44aa

    How can u say that?

These animals hav just as much rite 2 live as we

Do,and honestly think tht we should kill them 4 cosmetics when there is other ways 2 do it,they never did anything 2 us,y should we harm them?

  • I love animal testing.

    Its great.

All medicines and cosmetics and everything else should be tested on animals, especially cute furry ones in cartoons.

A broomstick could be tested on Ingrid Newkirk. If she perches on it vertically, how much of it can she take up the butt?

Take some dead animals and smack whoever posted this crap with them until the broomstick improves Ingrid's posture permanently. Feed them both some dead lab animals plus whatever gets cleaned out of their cages.

  • @zz44aa "A broomstick could be tested on Ingrid Newkirk. If she perches on it vertically, how much of it can she take up the butt?"

    14 inches at least?

  • If animal research never existed than millions of people would be dead! Just one of hundreds of examples : If someone you love needs insulin shots to stay alive because of diabetes than you should be grateful for animal experiments.

  • @benisdown Are you sure?..."... a wrongly conceived, wrongly conducted, and wrongly interpreted series of experiments."

  • @benisdown "Unfortunately, the condition of a dog with a small but healthy part of his pancreas left is essentially different from that of a person suffering from diabetes... in human diabetes two factors are present: 1. an essentially progressive lesion absent in experimental animals; and 2. the detrimental effect of improper diet."

  • @benisdown # "There is no laboratory method of inducing diabetes... which is exactly comparable to the clinical condition. At best we can get only crude approximations. • im never buying any animal tested products ever again in my life!!

  • iiiii

  • for all we know animals could possibly get a jolly out of all of it. just sayin... i mean we cant read their minds.

  • its murder .

    should stop - period .

  • Milky if you had done any kind of research on this subject, you will find that animal experimentation is unecessary and barbaric. It is done as a fastrack to get companies products on the market, and to make mass profit. Think for yourselves people and do your research on this subject, you will be horrified!!

  • @courtsarecorrupt- No major medical advancement in the history of human health has ever been made without animal experimentation. Let's say for instance insulin therapy and diabetes. All these came to be true because somebody decided to know what is secretion and how it works by feeding a hamster radioactive food and sacrificing it to trace for radio labelled particles in its gut. Fantasizing bogus things takes you nowhere. Reality is a bit dry and juiceless i'm afraid.

  • Medical science has only ever consisted of animal models in experiments for human disease, so, naturally, researchers claim every scientific discovery ever made to the use of animal experimentation.

I suspect when a cure is found for male-pattern baldness and erectile dysfunction, that too, will be attributed to animal experiments.

  • @CDLver Yes, they even say that humans only show love to their children because of harry harlows monkey experiments. there is noithign vivisectors will not rry to take credit for...and with no evidence to support their claims

  • @LBiolSci Particularly the reality that no animal is predictive for humans.

  • @LBiolSci "The history of cancer research has been a history of curing cancer in the mouse... We have cured mice of cancer for decades - and it simply didn't work in humans." Dr. Richard Klausner, as director of the US National Cancer Institute

  • Testing on animals is like testing on children! Why not use natrually born evil humans who have no concence who have destoyed the lives of others? Make them useful to society!

  • Because they are people. Conscious people. Not animals.

animal testing is necessary. It ain't pretty, but it's real.

  • @milky4107 IT IS NOT NECESSARY! you see, there are so many and more accurate methods and those were the once which showed an advance on science and medicine.

  • Very well.

I understand your anger, and I apologize for my ignorant comment.

    Are we cool.

  • Whoever supports torturing animals for bullshit reasons (and they ARE bullshit) deserves the same thing done to them. Science has advanced beyond the crude torture displayed in this video. There is NO reason it should still be going on. Grow a brain......and a soul

  • Chill out douchebag.

I apologized, don't be a dick. My views aren't changed and telling me I need to be tested on won't help.

  • Rather animal testing than releasing untested products on the market.

    Dumbfucks.

  • They won't be untested. If you were paying attention to the video scientist have developed synthetic skin and bones to test on. There are also computer simulations.

Also the FDA does not require any cosmetic companies to test on animals but yet they find the need too.

Buy from companies like Revlon who do not test on animals.

Before you start pointing fingers 'weenieManX' look at yourself.

  • you said it donavon!!! i agree

  • GO TO HELL!!! YOU PIECE

    OF SHIT!!!!!

  • Oh wow!!!

My opinion has been forever changed! Thanks of course to your constructive comment on my post.

You get a thumbs up for the effort and thought put into your reply

    :D

BTW: I really appreciated the DRASTIC MISUSE OF CAPS LOCK.

    Good Job.

    You sure showed me!

  • What I don't understand is why you find the need to post comments on a video like this.

You obviously don't support the cause to ban animal testing, so why venture to this page?

It must be that you like to stir up an argument.

Your sordid attitude is really not necessary.

And for the fact that you wouldn't care if innocent lives would be given for your 'entertainment' purposes then quite frankly I could care less if you were barbecued to test my 52 inch flatscreen.

  • wow, is that the best u can come up with?? hippies?? come u ignorant fool, animals have feelings just like humans.

  • I'm not trying to say that animals have no feelings, or value. I'm saying that an animals life means much less that that of a humans, of for that matter, commercialy tested products. That's my opinion, and I stick to it. you guys can stick to your opinions, and that's fine with me.

It just seems a bit rash for one to go vegan because they don't want to hurt nature. Cows, chickens, and all of the other slow, semi-retarded animals are around for a sole purpose; to provide for humans.

  • I'm not a vegan and I love chicken but they shouldn't test on other animals like they do so stop being such a smart ass.

  • Yo know, i love meat, and im so not a hippy. I really think that what you said is horrible. I belive people should have their own opinions but you don't have to be so disrespectful to everyone else.

  • Why not live the life of a lab pet? And then see if it will mean anything to you! I'm am not a hippie, nor a vegaterian. Abuse to inoccent being is wrong including the ones we eat!

  • Its the seed of doom!!! Soon nature will be testing us...

  • No they wont. They really wont.

  • us humans are no better then those animals we should all be treated with respect and the people who test on animals are stupid and dont deserve to live!!! this is cruel and im sad to see this

  • These people should rot in hell!

  • those guys r a bunch of son of a bitches

  • <:(poor animals,who would soe a kittans eyes shut???horrible

  • Would you rather see a loved one [a human being]'s eye shut? I don't think so. I'm not saying animal testing is not cruel, but it is needed in many cases. Without it, we won't be able to find cures for cancers - millions of humans will die, doubling up the amount of human deaths. And this is the only way to try and find cures - if you think it's humans who should be tested on instead, well... you better be the first in line!

  • Animal testing is wrong no matter what and yes I would rather see one of these bastards eyes shut and tested on so they can experiance the pain and suffering these poor animals have been through. So YOU better be first in line!!!

  • I would like to thank imsocool1004 for showing that video because I want to start a petition against animal testing and animal cruelty. I was just wondering is that video from America. If you do have an answer please go to my page and somehow tell me thx.

  • I'd become vegan, but my mom won't let me until I am at least 16. I eat, I dunno, meat once a month. I have no choice! I only buy things like shampoo, lipstick, etc that say not tested on animals, and others should do the same.

  • There is something wrong in a persons head if they can do those things to an animal, this is so sad. But it´s a good video, favorited.

And i am gonna go through that list and i will make sure i only buy products from companies that don´t test on animals. Thanks for posting the video.

  • Animal testing for cosmetics is disgusting. (Of course, when it comes to things like diseases then it's a totally different thing)

  • cool

  • so I'm off sugar & all dairy products now.. and I'm going to be changing over my cosmetics to non tested/animal free products. (great vid by the way...thanks for posting it)

  • thanks for the comments. for a list of products that were not tested on animals go to peta(dot)org

  • yeah.. i just ordered some animal free-test free make-up and i've already been on the site =) thanks = )

  • @babysophiecat yeah then what about tylonel? antibiotics? Most of the medications you take are animal tested.

  • you don't need to get a mouse, rabbit or monkey/dog to test it on to tell someone that.. its common sense. I have been a vegetarian for quite some time.. well, I thought I was, until I found out that my cheese contained rennet.. and the sour cream & yogurt I was eating contained collagen & the sugar I was eating was filtered through bone char..

  • I think its absolutely disgusting what they do to animals-all in the name of "science". There are ways to do testing, "smashbox" cosmetics does no testing on animals and their products contain no animal bi-products.. if they can do it, i don't know why other companies can't. If some companies can test without using animals, theres no excuse for other companies to not test.. household products.. ? yeah.. they're harmful.. no shit! be careful, don't ingest them, be careful around them..

  • this was the best video about animal testing..thanks alot for sharing and make people see this.. i cant believe how can they do this to little kitty.. and the monkey.. they feel pain, they scream.. is this the world we are living in..

  • thanks for sending this to me... i had seen it on his videos, but i don't usually watch cartoons.. so i didn't watch it.. but i'm glad i did.. thank you = )

  • oops.. smashbox (doesn't test on animals)

  • can this peopel sleep peaceful at night?

  • i dont know. sometimes i cant sleep know this is going on. i dont know how these people live with themselves.

  • stop animal testing and experimentation!it 's cruel!

  • you dont mind do you if i link this video off and onto my Nexopia profile do you?

  • you can link it onto what ever you want

  • k kool the nexopia link that appears is my profile

  • @Imsocool1004 You know almost ALL medication was tested on animals? are you boycotting that too?

  • omg some of the sickest things ive ever seen

some of it worse then what the NEWS shows

and the kitten at the end almost got me crying, if the recording lasted a few more minutes i'd of balled my eyes out

  • this video actually moved me.

i am half way finished a video response for this right now

it will be up in the next few hours

  • thanks. I'm so glad this video is making people rethink animal testing.

  • i never knew that animal testing was this cruel?!?

i almost cried. thanks for posting this.

  • That's so sad, I hate animal testing! =(

  • this is so cruel i hate people that do that.

    :(

  • continued.....

DAM IT ALL TO HELL! how people have such cold hearts! making them suffer 4 such unnessacery things! i want every one to see how horrable and monsterus this is. why do that to animals! they cant defend them selves! i see such saddness in their eyes! WHY do this so horiable. thank you 4 being a vioce of the animals. &hearts have a nice day

  • thank you. i completely agree with you. i couldnt have said it better myself.

  • omg i am so sad. i try so hard to not buy animals tested stuff.i dont understand how people can TOTURE a living breathing soul. it ripps me to shreds. how could they just decide to murder for a shampoo or an eyeshadow. there are some brands i know not to buy. if i found out that i bought one i feel like i am murderer. i dont see how people can think it is wrong to test on people yet dont care for the animals.

  • As much as I think unnecessary animal testing is cruel, there are innumerable numbers of medical advances that would not be available were it not for animal testing. So, in your quest to eschew anything tested on animals, I hope you plan on never taking any medications again, or getting any kind of medical implant, as these are all required to be tested on animals for efficacy before they are given to humans.

  • You don't understand; technology has made breakthroughs that can use human dna to test meds/ or household products. Just as schools that still use animals to teach anatomy of frogs could simply use plastic models and/or computers.

  • i think we understand if you get bleach in ur eyes! and what do u think happens when you get a burn. we dont need to. animals and humans react differently to things so animals testing isnt alwaysacurate

  • keep spreading the word. more people need to see this video! I also agree that this is one of the most informative animal research videos I have seen.

  • Ant...It takes so much...to bring a tear to my eye..This has acheived that. I have sent this to over 100 people trying to get your/our message out.

    Thanks,

    C. Mike

  • thanks so much for sending this around. It means a lot.

  • \\m// Rock on sistah \\m//

  • i agree. this is my favorite peta animal testing video, it shows people that we dont need animal testing.

  • This is very informative,I do hope people take notice and help to stop these cruel and needless tests going on.We have to be a voice for the animals. Thanks for posting.

  • cool video, thanks for posting
