  • I feel that those in religion are simply too stubborn to admit that the idea is obviously flawed and that the whole idea is really quite absurd. Surrounded by a Christian family I often have to deal with them, no matter how subtle it may be, enforce their unproven and at times obviously conflicting views. I'm tired of the lack of proof of for all of this. I'm tired of all dancing around with question I have and after an answer is found to be wrong that then you move into one of them defaul

  • The truth is not religious.

  • I do not have time to argue with Atheists like you on youtube. To believe in God or to Believe in Atheism is a leap of faith, intelectuality can only get us so far. I happen to believe (and not without founding) that it takes Greater faith to be an Atheist. I hope you come to a fruitfull faith in Christ one day and can therefore understand. Bless you

  • “if a person doesn’t think that there is a God to be accountable to, then what’s the point of trying to modify your behavior to keep it within acceptable ranges?”. Jeffrey dahmer, Convicted murderer.

  • Okay I would assert that sometimes religion can be used as a false excuse by corrupt people in power to motivate people to go to war for the real reason of gaining land and riches. However i would also assert that the horific atrocities commited by Atheist regimes has been due to their deep inbedded Atheism and lack of moral behaviour due to this. The use of religion has been an excuse, the cause by atheism has been deeply inbedded.

  • Furthemore i would assert that although Atheists like Stalin and Pol Pot did not boldly claim to kill in the name of Atheism. It was integral to there world view and sense of morality. It amazes me that Atheists dont realise that most genocides have been commited by Atheist (or at least irreligious) regimes. Do i have to say im killing people because im an atheist for that to be the reason. Because without God who cares if you kill a couple million people. Without God it isnt wrong.

  • The truth is that people often do evil things and seek out an excuse to do so. This excuse has sometimes been religious. Anybody who actually understands Christianity would know that it teaches the opposite to Genocide and holy wars. I dislike the Catholic Church and what it has done equally, if not more than, any Atheist. If your arguement was that the Catholic church has done many evil things i would wholeheartedly agree, but Christ loving, spirit filled Christians? I think not.

  • Oh wow so Christianity has been involved in about 2% of wars and if you actually did some research you would know that those wars were often (like the crusades) due to biblical illiteracy. Also atheism has resulted in some of worlds most horific genicides. You are a fool if you think atheism is superior to Christianity. Without God morality is relative. We would each have our own morality, it would be everyone does whatever they want. The truth is we both know their is a God given natural law

  • @unitethechurch "Also atheism has resulted in some of worlds most horific genicides." so what "genocides" have been performed in the name of not-believing? sources, please

  • @mattetis would the holocaust fall under that category?

  • @lonewolf0017

uhm.... yeah when you think about it.......

    NO!?!? :S are you retarded?

  • @mattetis no i'm not retarded

    but why wouldn't it?

  • @unitethechurch - Are you a dumbass or something? Actually do research on how many wars were religiously motivated.

Atheism didn't cause anything. Before you go there, Hitler was Roman Catholic, and Stalin didn't kill people in the name of Atheism. You're such a stereotype dumbass that you don't even realize that the leaders of WWII were in control of totalitarian countries. It has nothing to do with Atheism. I can tell that you certainly didn't get A's in your history classes.

  • @Critic863 No i most certainly am not a dumbass. Hitler was a Roman catholic, stalin was a Atheist. They both did terrible things. It seems to me that Atheist's wish to 'have their cake and eat it to' very often in debate. If your arguement is that Christianity is evil and has caused a majority of wars (which it hasn't) then a point (amongst other examples) that i can make is that Atheism was at the core of Soviet Russia and we all know what happened there.

  • @unitethechurch - Stalin didn't do anything in the name of Atheism. It was because he was the dictator of a totalitarian country that he did that. The Crusades is an example. Need more examples of things Christianity has done? Name something evil that was done in the name of Atheism. Atheism had nothing to do with Soviet Russia. They were Communists and it just so happened that most were Atheists. That doesn't mean they did what they did in the name of Atheism. Correlation does not = causation.

  • @Critic863 Man it amazes me that you dont see that your arguement works both ways. Funny that you would mention how correlation doesn't equal causation because my defence would be the same. These things were done by corrupt people in powerfull positions using God as an excuse. I would also make the bold assertion that the Catholic Church became corrupted and ceased being Christian at least in its leadership for a very long time.

  • @unitethechurch - The Crusades were the attempt to gain "Holy Land". That is a fact that it was a religiously motivated war. Yes, they were all corrupt people but you can not find any link from Stalin's actions to Atheism. On the other hand, you can link Hitler's actions to his religious views. Example: He often said that he was "doing God's work" by exterminating everyone.

  • @unitethechurch “without God morality is relative.” --> 0.o with God morality is still relative. Look at all the different religions with “god” that promote different views of morality... look at all the different denominations of Christianity with different views of morality.

But hey, lets ignore that for a moment.. "without God morality is relative” --> there is no god in buddhism, but there is absolute morality in buddhism.

    You fail.

  • @NightHawkBomber001 Actually my point is that there is an external absolute morality in itself, which brings me to the conclusion that there is a God. Any arguement about morality is an attempt to show that one system of morality is better than another system of morality. For example Ethical egoism verses Utilitarianism. When critizised we find both are incorect because their conclusions assault our conscience. What are they comparing to? Obviously a greater absolute morality.

  • @NightHawkBomber001 I can only say a very small amount of what I need to in this amount of letters so my arguements arnt as complete as i would like them to be. My other point above was that If there was no God, nothing I did would be wrong. How could it be wrong? absolute morality would not exist in a world without God. I could murder people and there would be no wrongness in my act whatsoever. Show how there could be? and so you know Buddhism asserts that Gods or God like beings exist.

  • @unitethechurch In a world without morality yes, you could kill, steal, etc and nothing would be wrong with it. I’m not arguing that there is no morality. I’m pointing out that A) religions without God still have absolute morality, and B) people who don’t believe in God, and don’t believe in absolute morality Generally have morals that they live by

  • @unitethechurch If you killed someone the reason why we would say you were wrong is because our society and our culture does not see it as constructive, and calls it wrong. now since it is not absolute, if it were say a cereal killer you may actually be considered in the right for defending yourself.

  • @unitethechurch "and so you know Buddhism asserts that Gods or God like beings exist.” --> Yes they do have creatures they call “Gods” These creatures have no power over the way the world works (morality, salvation, etc) rather they are beings that live and die just as we do, in fact, we could be reborn as one of them and they one of us depending on our karma. They are closer to tree nymphs and things like that.

So they have no al-powerful Creator God who dictates the morality

  • islam rules!

  • Matthew 11:19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard.

Just another conman on the grog.

  • So god made me sick, commands me to get well, and if I dont then I get tortured forever. The reward for accepting his protection (god is a mob boss?), on the other hand, is to pathetically grovel before him forever. Wow, some choice...

  • Hey Mark, let's meet up for a little talk.. I'll show you my righteousness.

  • Good lambs, listen to your master. Obey and you shall have a spot in heaven to worship him even more, FOR ALL ETERNATY! For you are born to worship a slave to god. Now praze Jesus and your god, for giving you so many options ;) Jesus loves u!

  • Too many fools here trying to present arguments that 2+2=5. Faith in God is a very powerful thing, but some use it for evil.

Saying Religion is dangerous is the same as saying "Guns kills people". Guns can't kill anyone: it is an inanimate object incapable of acting on its own. It is merely a tool (as is religion). Religious has saved/helped millions more individuals than it has harmed.

  • @drdst17 Hey isn't the gun a scientific discovery?

  • @drdst17 you say ~ "Religious has saved/helped millions more individuals than it has harmed." Have you thought about mabe World War I and II oh and how about recently 9-11 + London Tube disasters?? All losses of life because of religion, to say it has saved more people than harmed is a joke, just like you.

  • @foxtrck2 Religion didn't kill those people, people espousing religion committed those evil acts. It's just like saying "Guns kill people". Guns are inanimate objects incapable of operating on their own.

Faith in Christ and the One True God have saved the souls of countless millions of people, and have brought joy and happiness to countless more.

You are an incredibly small and hateful person, but it is not too late to repent your sins and return to His Grace. It saved me and can you.

  • @drdst17 - I find you quite retarded and stubborn tbh. Guns are inanimate objects, they don't brinwash people either do they?

As for sins... I have none. You see what you consider a sin was taught from the same book of guff that I don't believe in... therefore there is nothing defining a sin for me, can you understand that the only people capable of sinning are Christians because they are the only ones that define the term

I hate bible bashers, and I have no tolerence for brainwashed fools

  • @foxtrck2 I think you mean "bible-thumpers" in your last paragraph.

And yes, you are a sinner whether you believe in it or not. 2+2 = 4, whether you acknowledge it or no. The sky is blue: doesn't matter if you think it is green.

Take it from me, a "recovering" Atheist. I used to believe the same garbage you did. Until I gave up my pride and arrogance and acknowledged something greater than myself: the One True God.

He loves all of us, even those guilty of apostasy. Repent your sins

  • @drdst17 - Just because you believe that 4+4 = 7 Doesnt make it so, and stop telling people to repent, you sound like an old record... Non-believers (normal people) don't shout at Christians to "STOP BELIEVING NOW" - "SAVE YOUR TIME" blah blah! Seriously it's not about right or wrong, it's respect for others and you have none. But then you are a christian and I expect nothing more from a brainwashed mule.

  • @foxtrck2 Do you really, honestly believe World War 1/2 were actually religious wars?

It's moments like this that I despair about the future, if people can go through schooling without basic knowledge like that.

  • @MattinatorHax - Yea your right, Hitler wanting to rid the world of Jews was nothing to do with Religion it was all about the wee hats he didn't like.

You sir are a prize twat... I am not surprised you are a man of faith it very often replaces IQ.

  • @foxtrck2 It actually didn't - it was from a misplaced sense of ethnic superiority, not religious superiority. He also killed gypsies, JW's, Soviet's, Polish, homosexuals, people with disabilities, people with mental illness and Freemason's. Seriously, you can Wikipedia this stuff, there's no excuse for not knowing, especially if you're going to use it as a point. He also attempted to control Christian churches in Germany, and persecuted ones that wouldn't submit. Do your research, you look dumb

  • @MattinatorHax - This isn't a "whats started WW1+2" debate... this is a point that Religion is not blameless when @drdst17 stated it has saved more people than harmed and is therefore a good thing. You are loosing sight of the topic. I grant you the credit you are due regards WW info but that does not difuse my argument.

  • @foxtrck2 Actually, it's right on topic: You were using WW1/2 to support your argument, I showed that you were using a terrible argument. You now need to re-support your statement that religion has done more harm than good, that's how debate works.

Speaking of getting off topic, @ddrst17 never said that Religion was blameless - your comment "this is a point that Religion is not blameless" IS a complete red herring.

  • @MattinatorHax - "need to re-support your statement that religion has done more harm than good".... Okay, christianity has caused the crusades, the spanish inquisition, and countless deaths for witchcraft.... it's old fashoined thinking at it's best, then there are sectarian conflicts in sport etc etc. The world would just be better without religion

  • "The devil can quote scripture for his purpose."-William Shakespeare (Merchant of Venice)

Alright so this guys an idiot just like the rest of them. It amazes me how we don't get psychiatric help for people who talk to imaginary friends all their lives and kill each other over them.

  • Religion is insanity.

  • Religion. Blegh. If you can't be good without a promise of heaven,...

  • The best way to fight religion/christianity is to read the bible. A full and thorough understanding of the bible is the best path to atheism.

  • @YouToobWatcher3 funny,,, lol but true

  • @AwakeningMindz I can't really take credit for my comment. In part that was a quote from Donald Morgan. But yes, it is so very very true.

  • yes, another idiot.

religion is such a pile of turd

  • oh...another idiot.

  • religion must be destroyed right now its time to take up arms against the enemy called the vatican ass wipe who lives in pussy ass rome.nothing good has ever cum from religion. to be religous is a henous crime itself so join me and several million others and we can destroy this so called way of life bound by religion which was created by foolish men wanted to control the world.

  • are you serious?

  • of course i'm serious. if your religious quit it now and join the good fight and rise up against this oppressive pile of shite you call the perfect way of life religion is more like the PEADO way of life. BE PREPARED TO BE DESTROYED

  • That is amazing, I haven't met anyone that is as hateful as you in some time. The first question is how are you loving me right now. I might guess that you you are calling a uprise against Roman Catholicism, which I am not a part of. I am part of a small rural church that seeks to be as religion free as possible we look at Christ as our Lord, Saviour, and TREASURE. Where are the fruits of the spirit in your posts. I would love to talk more if you like. I am not trying to be a jerk

  • Christianity is a religion in it self - all preechers try to say that they are not religious just spiritual. This is their way of saying that they follow the on true faith- dont believe a word of what these trendy looking con artists tell you. Trust me

  • is there anything good religion has done??? nothing , nothing at all

  • Remember though, that it will be those who are morally bankrupt who bring about the end of the world via nuclear holocaust.

Not hating on science. But religion acted out the way it ought to be seems to be the only ethical grounding this relativistic world seems to retain

  • Religion is like quicksand... struggle and you only sink deeper. Sinking is never good fyi. At least we dont litteraly burn people (witches) on a bonfire just for the hell of entertainment... WE GOTZ TV for that now ! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!.

  • That is one boring comedian.

  • OH MY SCIENCE?!?!?!

  • Denying salvation by faith alone does not mean affirming works righteousness! This is a common misunderstanding of traditional Christian thought. We do not earn salvation either by working or believing hard enough! Rather, we freely accept the gift of God's grace by a faith enlivened by works. See James 2:14-26!

  • This is such garbage, and you people swallow it up willingly.

  • There is 0 evidence that religion in any form has any validity. What does that mean to you? I was religious and am now not. I was religious because of where I was born. If I was born in asia or Iraq it would be a different story. Take a step back and ask "What if it isn't true". Comments please. thanks.

  • religion isn't in god's name. its man made

  • "your struggle is that you dont struggle"-lmfao

  • Why do you guys keep leaving religious comments. You say we hate religion but you keep going on and on in your comments about the God of humanity. You are the most religious and you fear pushers. You are telling me you are God and thats scarey.I would much rather believe Mark Driscoll's message then you guys.

  • I don't think the context was Religious Idea internally. It was probably external, Religious Ideas [In the world]. Squash them around us out in the world.

2Co 10:5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

  • I was laughing with him until about 1:30, then I wasn't so sure, about 2:30 I realized it wasn't a joke.

  • with these religious wackos, it's hard to tell the difference between real and paridy

  • This is totally misleading, why is it so difficult to find info on how to fight the oppression of religion and speak out against this made up fairy tale religious bullshit that so many people seem to swallow? It seems that for every piece of free thinking, "question what you were taught" info, there's thousands of close minded, "just believe what your parents taught you, it must be god because I don't understand it otherwise", propaganda. I'm so sick of it.

  • The purpose of religion is to bring god down to our level. And so we have a god who is a blood-thirsty monster.

  • Takes the "good" parts of the bible, forgetting the evil parts.

  • Religion sucks!

  • Religion is like a bloody tampon to God.

  • wow i thought this was going to be a video about how we can help other people throw off the oppression of religion but...oh well.

  • Religion: Get saved by invisible man in the sky.

End of religion: Humanity saves itself.

Maybe one day a thousand years in the future when humanity advances far beyond the "self" we will be able to visit museums and in a dark and dusty corner find the religious textbooks from various religions.

    We can hope, atleast.

  • that didn't make much sense.

  • Hes the abercrombie new style fag. I bet he LOVES jesus long time.

  • He convinced me! There is a man up in the sky!

He loves us all! Worship him or he l send us all to his colleague in below the ground and have us burned forever, but he loves us .

  • Religion will one day end mankind = True.

  • i like to believe that one day religion will end, and mankind will be saved.

  • Me too. One day...hopefully before the nuclear holocaust...

  • why does a religion have to be divinely inspired to speak to the consciousness of people? it doesn't have to necessarily. What i'm saying is this, if all religion was truly false and had no SUBSTANCE and no power behind any of it religion would not have the strong draw that it does. Its terribly hard to explain where i'm coming from, and i'm not gonna spend 30 minutes refining my argument. Sorry guys, go argue with some other theists. been a shitty day

  • this guy is NUTS!!!RELIGION IS STUPID!!!!

  • @Faithisimaginary

If God is imaginary and the Bible is completely without merit and is false, then all religion would be simply put dead by now. That's just it though, the Bible is divinely inspired and God exists. The only possible alternative way for an atheist to explain people's experience of God, is evolutionary conditioning of our brains. I find it highly unlikely though. Politics and social conditioning doesn't do enough to explain how the draw towards religion is so strong in the world.

  • want to explain WHY the bible being false would guarentee its death? Do you think hinduism is divinely inspired? Its definately not dead.

  • sometimes i think the only reason that people cling to there out dated belief systems is to give atheists the shits. People who seriously believe that the world was created by an invisible magic spaceman or believe there's a imaginary fantasy world after death need urgent medical help. The Flying Spaghetti monster is the only true god!!!!!!

  • Religion is man's way of trying to get to God, or whatever their religion calls god or the afterlife. Christianity is God saying "You've sinned and you're not good enough to be with me. But I love you, and I want to be with you while you're on earth, and I want you with me after your time on earth. So I'll die for you, to pay the price of your sin, so that we can be together."

  • Tax churches. And see how long God keeps them a float.

  • I reckon his church is tax exempt because it's a religion. Am I right?

  • Everyone in the comment section is profoundly ignorant. You guys have no idea what Christianity even is. If Christianity was truly without substance, how could it possibly attract so many disciples? You may answer the fear of hell, you may answer getting into heaven... but I personally had no concern of heaven or hell when I came to Christ. Christianity is substance, period. God is substance, sinful lifestyles contain a lack of god, thus a replacement of substance with emptiness.

  • "If Christianity was truly without substance, how could it possibly attract so many disciples?"

I find this amusing. The Heaven's Gate cultists had 38 people commit suicide to have their souls picked up by aliens in UFOs. That's a recent phenomenon. 2000 years ago people were *really* superstitious.

If you were really talking about adherents and not diciples, then the answer is simply politics and conquest. The same reason Islam grew.

  • i totally wasted my time here, just another sheep

  • Brainwashed by his parents. He s not stupid, he just doesn't know any better and wants to save his own ass religionfactreport dotcom It depends where you are born most of the time and the parents pass on their beliefs

  • jesus jesus jesus.. bullshit bullshit bullshit

  • I don't get it about the religion thing, isn't this guy part of a religion?

  • RELIGION SUCKS

  • HOW THE HELL DO YOU FIGHT RELIGION BY GOING TO JESUS!?? Read some science books and spit on believers.

  • There is nothing wrong with being human.

  • ... do you need to go to some man who lived in the past to be "righteous" or can you maybe do nice to JUST BE NICE?

  • very cool.
