  • he is the best villian ever. patrick page has played the grinch, scar, and the green goblin. he is so amazing at this.

  • and he has to put on like 10 pounds of makeup for spiderman...

  • that's kind of creepy at the end :/

  • I see what Patrick is saying about the difficulties of modern theatre actors creating their own makeups for the characters. What's interesting was that during Shakespeare's time there were no costume, makeup, or set designers for the actors to work with....it was all imagination....and I also know that there were some famous stage/screen actors (specifically Lon Chaney Sr) who designed his own makeup for the characters he was playing which proved very effective!

  • It's got more yellow, because you need to be able to see all his expressions from as far as possible. Theater always has more dramatic make up to where if you saw it in person it would really look off-putting. It's so bold so more people can see him and his expressions/acting.

  • too much yellow in is face. Grinch is all green.

  • @animallover2047 Well actually, Rick Baker who did the makeup on the movie version said that the Grinch isn't just one green color, he also has purples and yellows as well, but I love Angelina Avallone's makeup design here....in fact I love all kinds of makeups!

  • Dude he looks like he could be in the lion king or cats not the grinch

  • hey watch my video! I was born a who!! lol

  • Shut up! It doesnt need to perfect!

  • that's not how the grinch

  • i think the yellow is to accent his face among all the green of his costume. when it's on a stage, it has to be kinda extreme.

  • i like when you talk like a grinch and i like your make up to

  • I agree with roxynikko2. TOO MUCH YELLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Grinch was green not yellow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And gotta agree with ZcelGO, they NEED a face mold or something cause all that paint does make him look like a young cracked out Grinch.

  • @Crissbaby2008

That is stage make-up, designed to look a certain way not only under stage lights but also from a distance, I.E. the audience's perspective. It looks extreme up close, but on stage it works.

  • Did you tell that 2 roxynikko2 or ZcelGo as well, cause I was only agreeing with them. So I feel like I'm being singled out here when all I was doing was agreeing with 2 others. So try not single the 1 whose agreeing with others out only. I hate that when I agree with people and then someone else comes along and singles ME out only.

  • well also the lighting is kinda odd... its a limey greeen

  • i really wish they recorded the music! its so great!! ugh!

  • looks more loke cats

  • WOW... AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Get a face mold or something. All that paint makes him look like a young cracked out Grinch!!!

  • too much yellow!

  • I still don't like the look of that Grinch

  • @sheldonman14 Well actually, in general stage makeup (with the exception of such shows as Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, and Shrek) has to be very simple so that the actor can easily pull it off at the end of the day and still have skin left

  • I loved this Musical

  • Did they sell any music from the musical?

  • Sadly, no...

  • Darn it. Really, one must wonder WHY.

    Well, thanks for informing me!

  • Well, it was really just a holiday engagement, so I really don't think that it could be afforded...

But then again, White Christmas got an OBCR... so i don't know...

  • gosh that costume and makeup was amazing!

  • jimcarreys costume was cool

  • that's my cuz

  • are you serious?

  • I have had the opportunity to work with Patrick a few times. He is a consent professional. His dad was one of my drama teachers in college.

  • He is always a villan

  • ya i saw him as scar in the lion king, he was perfect for that.

  • So her name would be Page Page?

  • that costume was pretty disturbing!

why so much yellow in the face??

  • i think it is also important to point out that due to the stagehand union strike, The Grinch closed after its opening night.

    Bah Humbug!

  • weren't they forced to re-open the Grinch for Christmas?

  • if i were angelina, i would've told him to shut the hell up.

  • he's yellow because green doesnt look good under stage lights.. it hides the actors features... the yellow allows for a shade difference as well as facial features to show onstage

  • Elphaba is green....

  • yes she is... but because wicked is so high in the rankings they have the money to use the lights to deal with her green skin... plus she gets air brushed green and doesnt rely on heavy creme foundation. the airbrush applies a thin green which doesnt MASK the actress' face. hope this clears up confusion

  • I didnt know he was married to page?

  • This is really cool.

  • PATRICK PAGE<3

  • I don't like it because it dosen't look like the original Grinch costume...

  • It's like how Elphaba gets green evrey night at Wicked.

  • that did the costume liek they did the movie with jim carey

  • awsome makeup love it
