  • This makes me happy!

  • LOVE THIS CANT HELP BOPPING IN MY SEAT IN THE CINEMA WHEN THIS COMES ON

  • my new ring tone-thnx

  • @captainumbnuts: Nice. If only I could rip it for the iPhone...

  • Pearl came from a russian jewish family who moved to swansea. He became a travelling salesman and met Dean in Bristol where they started business together.

  • I am actually related to Pearl. My grandad was the son of Pearls sister. Because my grandad was born 'out of wedlock' he was disowned and was adopted by a family in Cornwall. Apparently they were real playboys and when my grandads mother died, Pearl turned up on his doorstep and gave him some money. I am sure I could write a novel lol :-)

  • @Painteddeath100: Fascinating! And please do write that novel...

  • Where's me Ki-Ora then? Thanks for posting this great memory.

  • @kaferere: Ki-Ora haha yeah! And the local Indian restaurant down the road with 70s flock wallpaper :-)

  • @Maryrichard Yep, happy days! Cheers.

  • It's actually called Asteroid :)

  • Who are Pearl & Dean. I know that it's an advertising company, but were there actually people?

  • @gtvnetwork: check out alandrewett's comment above - explains it all! R

  • I always wanted to go to the flicks with a girl named Pearl.

  • Good god I love this. The guitar solo makes absolutely no sense however... other than that it's such a great great tune!

  • @poisonelegance I love the fact that the guitar solo makes no sense!

  • Genius tune!

  • Pearl and Dean was in fact founded in 1953 by Swansea brothers Dickie and Ernie Pearl and Bristolian Robert Dean although I always imagined Pearl and Dean as licencees of a rather kitsch early 1970s pub like the Nineteen Hundred in York, all formica surfaces, wrought iron screens and buttoned red leather seats.

  • @alandrewett: me too!

  • i did not know this was a full song i just thought they made it up love this tune

  • @rustytrain12345 You're right! Originally, it was only the 20 seconds long tune ... but then they composed and released this longer version. (I've been reading about it in the Times today, as the company that owns the work has been sold off for £1).

  • super percussion! and a great flute solo, so often lost. Not surprised they axed the guitar solo tho'

Pa pa pa pa pa pa pa!

  • Totally agree! R

  • @Maryrichard Yep, kinda ruined it a bit, but its still the best.
