Hamsters need more exercise than what they get in their wheels.  The ball is not being cruel; it's being helpful! As long as the hamster doesn't go by the stairs, it's fine! My hamsters all lived long healthy lives, and I'm sure the ball had something to do with it. My last hamster was six when he died.

Not cruel! Thoes balls are made JUST for hamsters, gerbils, dwarf hamsters, and other rodents to use to run around, I'd rather my hamster run around in that than run around on its own and get lost.

I bought this for my hamsters. It depends on the hamster's stamina on how long it can 'cycle' in there. My Syrian hamster lasted at leasted half an hour in that. When I put my dwarf hamster for half an hour, it fainted. I didn't put it in there anymore, even though it seems to want to roam outside.

That's actually very cruel to the hamster. Not wanting to sound rude, but you should only keep your hamster in there for 15-20 minutes max, then bring them back in the cage for a 5-10 minute break.
