when I connected the monitor, turned the camera on, the Monitor only stays on for a few seconds, and the picture goes black… i know the monitor is not bad cuz it worked once ... do i need to set up the camera or something?
I don't mind having a small monitor, due to the fact that my DSLR can handle it's weight. I won't have to get a rig/make one to support a bigger one. This is a cool find. I hope it connects to my Nikon, if not, the search continues.
I'm about to pull the trigger on this lcd screen as I'm constructing an external screen for my underwater rig. However, the waterproof case that I would put this and the battery in is only 66mm tall. The physical description on the ebay auctions list these (and they all look the same) as anywhere from 66mm tall to 99 mm tall. Can anyone please measure theirs and tell me as closely as possible the dimensions on this LCD screen? Much appreciated!
@StephenNorman Most people I've talked to are happier with the Haier monitor. The Haier monitor is a little over a pound so It depends on what size of steady cam you're using. If you have more then a pound of counter weights you could probably swap the haier out and still balance your steady cam pretty easy.
@onelonedork is this screen is easy to focus with while shooting video and manually focusing?
some shots i took with the 5D -i thought they were in focus via watching the cameras live view screen ,but at home on the computer- i saw my shots werent!
@Darius12235 Having a small monitor allows you to mount it point towards you for the type of youtube videos I produce. It's also very handy when using a steady cam and when using your camera on a crane or operating your camera from a remote location.
Im a big fan and i appreciate the videos you upload to youtube. They are very helpful for young filmmakers trying to put together the right equipment.
How does this work in daylight? I am looking for something that I can do focus with in bright conditions. The display on the camera is annoying for focus.

Great videos, and good info. I want to buy a Lilliput monito, 7" or 8" inch. But I'm cofused cos I see a 667, 668 and 669 models. Which is the best? i don't need touchscreen. i would like the brightest with some white balance or color adjustment if possible. - kevin -kevin
@SacredEffect Now I understand what you are asking. Yes it can be used in cars as a backing monitor. Links to the monitor and everything you need for it are in the info bar bellow the video.
@onelonedork yeah i read that after i postet this comment ;D sorry. i hope i can get this stuff in germany, it would be pretty cool to build a rig for a go pro camera with this monitor! and an external mic, should be great for skating and stuff :D
@joesonx I don't think you will have any problems. All of this comes from china and the sellers ship everywhere. The only down side is that international shipping takes a few weeks. I wish i would have ordered 2, it would be nice to have one mounted on a glidecam hd2000 permanently. This would be great for skating and if you break it your not out very much.
can you show it in use? and I'm guessing its RCA and not HDMI, right? I have been dying to see this thing in use. When I watch youtube videos - I'm in video-mode and not in click-to-go-to-dudes-website mode. Great videos btw
@reallycoolguys yes it is rca only. Sorry i was in the car most of the day and had about 20 min to put that quick video together and upload a blog post over 3G. I'll have some more video up on it this week. Remember this is free, so I work on it when I can, it does take time to put these videos together.
@Zoneorigins I actually started with "7" lcd monitor" in one of the first listings I came across was a 3.5 inch monitor for 19.99. When I looked at the listing it said car monitor. So I tried "LCD car monitor" and I hit the holy grail of odd ball monitors. There are links on the site to the monitor and mounts.
@onelonedork THANKS so much i recently purchased a 60d and had been needing a extra screen but because of the cost of the camera i am broke. but 30 dollars? i can definitely do that. thanks again man saved me roughly 170 dollars.
@Zoneorigins No problem, there are some larger monitors in the same price range all of them are SD. But they should work great for that. Keep an eye out on the site, I've got a couple more projects on the way that also make life easier.
@onelonedork just picked up the screen the bolt peice, and the battery, cant wait, Im going to start pointing people over to this channel on my own public channel. hopefully you get a couple more subs. you sure deserve it. Thanks again man!
Just sent you a message in your inbox. Found an $80 7 HD LCD MONITOR on Ebay. If the right person gets a hold of it, they could probably work magic with it for a DSLR. Tell me what you think. :)
@JoshuaBeeLoved Could probably make that work. Looks like it has a threaded mount as well. Not sure how you'd use it for HD, but you could very easily use it for SD with the composite out puts of your camera.
@CYNFELYN23 maybe a mock documentary, on deadly flowers? slide in and then cut to a guy in a suit explaining how flowers are a plague and will be the death to us all?
i really like your videos.im thinking of getting a t2i to film skateboarding.only thing that im woried about is editing footy on my pc,because it's pretty old.what are the minimal requrements to edit hd footy?
@valerijusvsserioza Quad core seems to be the minimum to edit dslr footage natively. I edit on an i7 desktop and laptop right now. But I've had no problems editing on a i5 and quad core machine. Dual core isn't quit fast enough for native footage. If your in a bind, you could transcode the footage to mpeg2. When my laptop was still dual core I could edit 1080p in an mpeg2 format. But transcoding adds more rendering time to your project.
will this work with the 10d?

Hey Deejay,
Would you recommend something like this or the $44 Haier for use on a small steady cam (U-Flycam)?
I'm worried about weight but I'd also like the largest screen possible.
