Yay, my favorite song from Neil Young, and gosh, ... what a lovely half muted bass line you are playing. Love your interpretation, having some very special changes making the song your own. Loved to listen and to dream.
I have had a lot of guitars over the years but nothing sounds as good as the D-15. The D-15 is a simple guitar but its all about the sound quality and how deep this guitar can go. Light strings on the D-15 sound like meds on other guitars.
There are two mics in the room. Panned left and right about 50%. Mixed then run thru some mastering software. No pickup or mic is on the guitar itself.
This video sold me. I went out and bought a new D-15 today. What an amazing guitar. I haven't been able to put it down since I bought it. Don't even want to go to sleep at night...lol. Great playing.
Yeah I've had mine over a year now and I still can't put it down sometimes. Try some DR rare strings, perfect match for this guitar. Thanks for the comment.
Another great performance!!! And again a wonderfull sound!
Went to a guitarshop today but the D-15 wasn't in stock. Because I'm mainly a strummer, the guy of the shop told me a spruce top is better for strumming. So I tried the D-16GT, which was in stock. Not bad at all but it sounded a little different. Maybe it was a sales trick, but do you know if it's true that a spruce top is better for strumming?
I think both are good for strumming. The spruce top will be brighter and more crisp sounding which is better for certain types of music. I like the warmer mellow sound of the mahogany top for singer/songwriter music.
Were do you find DR strings? I usually use Black Diamonds and they are getting harder to find.
