I almost feel sorry for those artist who celebrate a few weeks on chart one of its songs, this song has been since 03 25 /1725 on charts and counting.
I'm back, and this is to all denominations: I played this today (October 9) for Sunday School assembly. I did so because our Sunday School Lesson today was based on Ecclesiastes 9:13-18. If that is your Scripture for the day, O Holy Spirit, Enter In is a good hymn to compliment it.
It's me, again. I also play the piano and organ. Today (July 17), I filled in at a local Lutheran Church. I played a hymn to open the service with this tune. It was O Holy Spirit, Enter In. It was written by Michael Schirmer, 1606-1673, and translated by Catherine Winkworth, 1827-1878. It is #786 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
It is amazing that you put photographs of the Sun rather than Venus which is called the morning star in the tradition. But you are right since Bach wrote this cantata with Christ in mind it deserves nothing less.
No, the libretto for mov.I is due to Philipp Nicolai (1556-1608), a German pastor, theological writer and Hymn composer. According to the website bach-cantatas(dot)com, Nicolai wrote both the words and some original tunes, but all the arrangements we know today are due to Bach.
I absolutely love this, the choir is so full of energy and the music is superb here! The music along with your impressive ivdeo makes everything come to life!! Thank you!!!

Huh. I hear it now, but I could swear the pitch here is a semi-tone higher than on my Rilling recording.

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (December 19, Advent 4), Isaiah 7: 10-16 was read as our Old Testament Lesson for today.

To whom is your comment aimed? You sound a bit fanatic. Just relax and listen to the music which stands by itself.
