Its hard to believe from the beginning to where i just paused @ 2:08, every store and street is unchanged. Even Brant Loans Till Payday, Sunoco, Kings Diner... weird! :P
Wait.. was there even cameras available to the general public then, unless you were rich of course, in which case you sure as hell wouldnt be riding the bus~
MAybe i got it all wrong and this was filmed in 90 or something and the bus itself was made in 72! haha lol
Wow, the last time I rode in a fishbowl was around 1990 (in Boston)! Even then, they were all but replaced. This video brought back some fond memories (especially the windows rattling!).
I really enjoy this video. I remember taking these Detroit GM Fishbowl buses here in the USA as a kid through my teens. Thanks for posting. These were quality buses and I miss them greatly.

this is the most boring video in the world why would u ever watch this i almost want to puke looking at it there is no reason there should be 8 minutes of bus rideage. im not usually this pissed off and make comments liek this but hoyl god damn these videos just frustrate me and make me want to shoot myself in teh face with a gun and kill my mother along with my dog. i just cant beleive there are so many positive comments. holy fuck what is going on
Pythom000 you should block people like skillzvtec that make stupid comments like that of your videos and hey and like i said before great video and great classic bus too bad they don't make these GM Newlooks classics anymore.
This is the first time I've ever seen (or heard) a Fishbowl with a 3-speed automatic. Every bus in Philadelphia prior to the RTS's of 1980 all had torque converters where you started out in fluid drive, then about 35 MPH or so it shifted into direct drive.
Cause i miss it, i left brantford almost 2 years ago (well i was forced) and now i live in B.C. but i plan to come back soon, i just miss it that's all, can you make another video going down darling street? thats were i used to live.
Brantford really needs to get some more of those new bus's, these may be more durable but when you get stuck one of the old bus's in the middle of the summer with no air conditioning it sucks, and the winter is almost worse, and the new bus's are a lot more accessible. Sure the history of the bus's are kinda cool but when it comes down to comfort and using the transit system they really need to keep adding to the fleet of new bus's
Your not going to have heat or aircinditioning on any bus when it breaks down. These are the best buses ever. They should be rebuilt and kept in service 6 more years.
no the old ones don't have air conditioning at all, i have never been on any bus that has broken down. In the winter they have the heat cranked up so high that you would rather be outside
sit near the window you have plenty of cold air during the summer blowing in. Natural air beats airconditioned air any day. It is canada not dallas texas.
listen guy you do not like the old buses why I do not know. I do not like the new buses. Wait for the next one or walk to another route or walk man what can I tell you. Your someone who is saying mercedes or nothing. The old buses are much nicer then the new ones.
the fishbowls have air conditing ya know how open a god damn window!!!!! then it frezing ! but you can never the temp. right in them!!! its either to hot or to cold the 98 lfs's that metrobus in st.johns have to retire soon they are shit nova u scant make a bus as good as gm which sucks !!!!! metrobuses oldest bus is 1982 new look and but slow a lot better i the snow then the new ones!!!!1
Well there were fishbowls that were built with HVAC, but weren't the best ones at all.
I rode a fishie with A/C a few times, it was cold as shit in the back, but muggy and not cold at all in the front. I would just experiment with a Thermo-King Roof-mount A/C and freeze the pax to death, lol.
"WoW" man thanks for the video, it does not get any better than these old GM buses even if they are rebuilt and i don't think any of newer buses today could last as long as a built to last GM newlook bus even if they were to be rebuilt againg thanks for the great video.
I miss those old buses in kingston

This one don't sound like an early 1970 model, sounds more like 1977 or later models (1980s like TTCs)

Hold up, what fareboxes does Brantford Transit use?
It definitely sounds like the same fareboxes New Jersey Transit uses on all of their local buses! Oh lord....

newflyer500 4 years ago
i never said they would have heating systems or air conditioning systems while they are broken down
reebock1234 4 years ago
You keep saying when stuck. stuck means on a bus that breaks down. air conditining is not neccessary in canada. just open the windows.
newflyer500 4 years ago

Brantford as a few of the new busses that are flat and can lower a ramp.
Just a few not all.
They need to get all the buses flat with ramps and dump these old buses
brantfordredsox 4 years ago
No actually most of the fleet consists of those new "lowfloor" buses. They are pieces of junk and cannot stand up to old buses like this one.
This bus has been around since 1972 and is still going strong. Some of the new buses haven't and will not survive more than 10-15 years.
Python000 4 years ago
