  • hmmm somewhere along in the course of my schooling, maybe around 7th grade, we learned about PHOTOSYNTHESIS. CO2 is used by plants and converted through respiration locking the carbon in plants and releasing O2. what the hell are we trying to starve the plants for? As CO2 levels rise in the atmosphere, plants will grow to catch up on the abundant CO2 producing denser vegitation, and producing more O2.

Water vapor is the worst green house gas there is, not CO2. Volcanoes do the most polu

  • @megacanam see terrestrial sequestration. negligent compared to the CO2 we release into the atmosphere from human activity.

  • At least some folks are doing something about this climate changing phenomenom or whatever you might call it. Kudos to you ;-)

  • use excess energy from renewables, make electrolysis and use CO2 for methane creation (Natural gas). Dont waste it ijn the ground (its also dangerous)

  • permanent storage? haha... how could a storage be permanently?

it is an ultimate waste disposal, but no storage. a disposal for ca. 95% co2 and 5% undeclared toxic waste.

  • Great video. Great technology. Thanks Alberta.

  • I'm doing a project on this, and I really think this technology has so much potential. I know the process uses a lot of energy but, it isn't 100% developed yet so give it some time...

  • Is CO2 really the problem? Isn't real pollution worse like toxic and carcinogenic pollution? I know that Halliburton and Shell have put a lot of money into CCS technology and lobbying governments worldwide, but is it REALLY the problem? I hate real pollution in all forms!

  • There are many industrial uses CCS can be used in, some to generate electricity. Full details are available at energy.alberta.ca

  • You know I wonder if CCS is worth the effort ?

It seems like a lot of energy is being spent to capture, contain, ship and store CO2, why not just use it to simply power a electrical generator after collecting it?

Sure you get greenhouse gas, but you use less fossil fuel to do the whole CCS process and decrease the need for using oil in the first place.

  • that's very interesting, we such humans must to know and do things like this for our planet earth, and simplyjunkie you have the reason...the people keep on sleep about this situation....greetings from Colombia
