I've had this snare for about a year now and I really like it thus far. Only 2 things I have a problem with it though. 1. The stock head...I broke thru it in about an hour of practice but a simple upgrade to a Powerstroke w/ Dot works fantastic. 2. The first one I had of this I had to replace because the screws that held the snare clutch on snapped in just a few months...that shouldn't happen at all lol. Over all though it has a great sound.
How long ago did you buy it? 'Cause I live in Mexico and 199 dollars would be like 2300 pesos, but if I order it, I'll end up paying almost 5000 because of taxes and stuff. Maybe you bought it when if first came out as a "prototype" or something, 'cause 199 is an unbelievable price.
@satanicpunker182 I bought this about a year ago. I would just look around for something else and save the hassle. There are plenty of nice snares out there, and this just happens to be one of them.
@tannermittan7 Yeah, but the finish and sound on this is pretty awesome... I did some more research and found out that musician's friend has it way cheaper than guitar center... I don't know, maybe I'll go pick it up in a few months personally, although I'd like to know: is it really 10-ply maple wood?
@theDRUMMERDUDE100 Not sure the exact model name, it didn't specify when I bought it.I bought it online from guitar center for 199, the name on guitar center is "Orange County Drums and Percussion Maple Snare". It isn't the "X" model that I remember seeing quite frequently.

@satanicpunker182 Yeah it's definitely 10 ply, but I'm almost positive the outside ply is ash, just to give it a better look.
