@Cherry69Popper the crankshaft in both the 2jz-gte and the ge are made from forged steel. the connecting rods are steel and the pistons are made from a hardened iron. the pistons in the gte however have an aluminum tube inside of them that lines up with oil squirters to cool them down.

Excellent motor for sure but boy am I surprised how a engine that is made like a piece of candy tossed around is so reliable.

Ironically I watched the ultimate factories for Ferrari... every engine is a hand made master piece never tossed and treated like a piece of art yet they are such unreliable cars!

yeah 2jz had reliabilty in mind when created versus a ferriri which is always weight savings race bred. which gives you poor reliability.
