KnivesMonroe, I just did a little research and this guy RogyPro. Check out my account and look for my video from UTPA theater. This guy is leaving criticism on each video made here in the valley. I'm a little concern what he wants to do by leaving comments here and there.
@KnivesMonroe You should think of my opinion of something important. You have nice Locations, and sometimes nice shots. Nice color grading, however... the point of a music video is to tell a story based on the lyrics... and here its all just him walking around singing the song in different places. The only person that probably finds this interesting is you, and the guy that comes out in this video.
@RogyPro I personally don't find it interesting. I'm my worst critic. I know what I need to work on, and I don't make the same mistake twice. This was a 10 hour shoot, and I can see my errors in almost every shot. I've learned alot from this, and my next music video will be better. Thanks.
As for your argument on how music videos are a medium soley to convey lyrical content, I humbly disagree. My favourite music videos typically have nothing to do with their content. Tool, for example.
@KnivesMonroe People have forgotten what the real purpose of music videos are. In High Budget production music videos it is fine for the music to have nothing to do with the film. they'll fill in the whole thing with eye candy. However, with low budgets, it is important to fill in the gap of lack of funding by having a good story to make up for the lack of eye candy.
@RogyPro I do not agree entirely, which is to say I don't exactly disagree.
If you know this man, you know he's a metal head, grew up listening to Cannibal Corpse and Cradle of Filth, so to see him do this 180 its something special.
I dont make excuses, but we only had 10 hours, if I had a weekend I would've applied a B story to compensate for lack of budget, naturally. But I was on borrowed time.
