Heres a question my 20th anniversary chrome whammy is kinda messed up. The "Treadle" is really stiff and squeaky. Its almost impossible for me to depress it smoothly or quickly. I just want to know if anyone has been having the same problem or if anybody knows how to fix it.

When I brought it home everything was working alright but the "Treadle" was moving really stiff and it was hard to use it to create effects like "Killing In The Name Of" because of the stiffness. I just want to know if anyone else has had this proble and if so is it fixable?

I have a problem with my whammy. When I use an octave change, in the heel down position my guitar is off tune from before i turn on the whammy. Is there any way I can go from my normal guitar sound up to the whammy or do I need an expression pedal? And I've done the calibration thing.

I've done the calibrating thing to get it back to normal and that works most of the time, but it gradually goes back to the out of tune state! @prabakharpeddada I tried one in a store and I had the same problem. They say you need to stress the rubber tips at the heel point, if you actually press it hard you get the supposed pitch.

From what I've heard/read, the consensus is pretty much that the Whammy I has the best tracking, seems like the Whammy II is well-liked, and most everyone agrees that the Whammy IV's tracking is the worst. But whether or not it's "good enough" is, indeed, subjective enough that you really should just play through one to decide. Good luck!

That is not a valid argument. In other videos, I have seen Pro Guitar Shop show how the demoed pedal acts with some other effect.. Corse its not plausible to demo every possible combination in their videos, but people are just asking for a simple combination that this type of effect is very known for, just to see how it sounds. Its ok if PGS didnt do it, but it is a normal request by the possible consumers. Anyway, congrats to PGS for putting all the great work so far.

@sweeney665 Not everybody likes heavy distortion, wich in my opinion is just a way for some to cover up bad playing. And do you really need to hear that demonstration from PGS? The pedal has already proved itself worthy, all you have to do is listen to some RATM or White Stripes. And I own one myself, it doesn't track well on clean OR distorted tones, it's just the nature of the pedal. And like they said, they are demonstrating the Whammy, not an amp or distortion effect. Duh!
