  • Frank had a sunburn tan on his nose... see where the glasses where?

    :P

  • He looks VERY good for his age (66 I believe). He barely has any wrinkles!

  • Cary Grant was a famous dolphin right?

  • Wonderful clip! Thanks for sharing! :)

  • wow cary looks phenomenal in this video. Thirty with gray hair instead of his 67?

  • Cary Grant VOICE BEAUTIFUL OMG

  • Pure class.

  • Now that was a beautiful speech....I love the Golden Era.

  • I'm sorry, Cary darling, but you were wrong. There was not and there will never be another great era as the Golden Era. Maybe if you just were here...

  • OMG! HS MY GREAT GRANDDAD

  • Sinatra needed to shut up and let Cary have his moment!

  • SINATRA WAS ALWAYS THE BIGGEST WANKER OF ALL TIME

  • This is really unfair. Cary should've won an Oscar.. not honorary

  • @Malkmus99

You are right. Cary was the greatest screen actor of all time. The look in his eyes as he watches Katherine Hepburn flirt with James Stewart should have been enough to win him the best actor Oscar, not James Stewart. But Cary's acting was always so subtle and understated you forgot he was acting. Other actors always drew your attention to the fact they were great actors:) However, in every field of acting and good breeding Cary Grant stands alone.

  • Muff Sinatra!!!!! i hate sinatra!! Great Grant is so Sweet(Add Mafia??)

  • Sowas von GrossKotzig(Sinatra) hab ich lange nicht gesehen!!!.So ein Maffia Scheiss, der arme Grant ,oder war auch dabei????

  • Oh I hate Sinatra(fuking Muff) Gary is so Nice!!

  • Watch Cary Grant 25th Anniversary Tribute on my channel. Just click on my name. Enjoy.

  • CLASS.

  • Oh man, this is great. Sometimes I wish I was born much earlier, so I could live and experience the days of the the huge stars of yesterday.

  • Such dignity and humility. I inspire to be more like him.

  • Cary had more style than Frank ever had!

  • I love this man even though he's passed. He's my favorite actor. He was even gorgeous when he was older.

  • Cary Grant was always impeccable in his dress and manner...He was the personification of what it means to be a true gentleman...He was the classiest of the classy, but he was never arrogant...He was the most articulate of the articulate, the best dressed man in the world and a wonderful father to his beautiful daughter Jennifer...Cary Grant was a brilliant actor and, more importantly, a brilliant human being..No, he wasn't perfect, but he seemed to have come close to perfection in his lifetime.

  • PENNY SERENADE The most funny romantic moving story with such great acting. Love Carry Grant

  • To give you an idea of the stand up character of this good gentleman; Cary Grant donated his entire salary, $100,000, to the U.S. War Relief Fund from the (filmed in 1941) 1944 Warner Brothers film ARSENIC AND OLD LACE. In my mind, Cary was not only a gracious guy with suave mannerisms; he was class personified. One of the greats, and I’m glad he received this Oscar. Cheers and peace, to all who hear my words. Bear.

  • What the crap is with all of this Sinatra hating? Sheesh! Cary Grant is AWESOME and Frank Sinatra is AWESOME! I don't think Sinatra was making this moment about himself at all; he's making good natured jokes, this was his way of paying tribute to Cary. They both look to be having a good time joking together so lay off the negativity and just enjoy two of the best performers ever! :)

  • Sinatra was such a loathsome, low-class ASSHOLE!!!

  • my sister loves him

  • Sinatra always made it about himself, didn't he? What a windbag.

  • Frank just can't handle the spotlight on someone else...sheesh..

  • LOVE him! Pure charisma and still sexy as all get out even in his later years.

  • Ummmmm, shut up 'old blue eyes'; this is Cary's night.

  • @karmadhyana Agreed!

  • Comment removed

  • classy actor no george cloony will never be as good as cary grant :)

  • I was not even born in that era yet he and many others oozed sex appeal class and style. Where are they now? I miss you Cary Grant!

  • what a class act.

  • now I know whatever happened to randolph scott

  • whos that old distinguished looking homo

  • Cary Grant

    The Greatest Actor Ever

  • @whispperson SHEER PERFECTION!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Such a phenomenal actor. There never has, or ever will be a better actor than Cary Grant. His distinctive acting method and humor is something that can never be emulated and will live on for generations to come.

  • I WISH i COULD HAVE MET...OH WHAT A GENTLEMAN....MISS YOU CARY....XOXOOXOXOXOXOXOXOX...

  • I WISH i COULD HAVE MET...OH WHAT A GENTLEMAN....MISS YOU CARY....

  • @ADirtDiggler Your have a point and I agree. Actually, Cary Grant is my favorite actor of all time. BUT WHEN IN COMES TO CHARITY AND DOIN GOOD WORK FOR HUMANITY AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE like to name a few, Darfur, Africa missions, fund raising for Haiti, and other calamities such as Katrina, tsunamis and etc.. Cary Grant is not even close to even compare to what George Clooney has done. Actually, It does not even make sense to even compare.

  • I've not seen a single actor who is able to look so immaculate and sharp at the age of 66. A true legend in EVERY way, the true personification of a leading man. If only my generation (teenagers) appreciated true talent. I guess everything nowadays is about abs and vampires.

  • master. el mejor

  • omg this man is amazing

  • What a joy to hear Cary speak.

  • I watched Cary Grant play US Navy Admiral Matt Sherman, Former Captain of the USS Sea Tiger in 1959's " Operation Petticoat " with Tony Curtis, who just Passed away not too long ago. They had a a Perfect Thoughful and Considerate Father and Son Type Chemistry onscreen. Seeing Admiral Matt Sherman ,Commander of the US Pacific Fleet sit at his old desk on the Sea Tiger and have the Story Fade into the Past when he was a Young Man when he recently took Command of the Sub brings Tears to your Eyes

  • Ahh Cary Grant. They just don't make those kind of molds anymore. He truly was among the best.

  • What a beautiful, intelligent actor. And from my home town! Very proud of Cary Grant, what a man!

  • talent there is no other to describe it just pure talent

  • Even guys would call him a damn handsome man

  • Cary Grant makes me want to hate the new Hollywood movie stars. You are truly one in a billion Cary

  • "No greater honor can come to any man, than the respect of his colleagues"

There'll never be another man like him.

  • The only person who's like Cary Grant is Cary Grant. End of story.

  • I remember I saw this video last year and when Frank was introducing Cary, he mentioned the directors Cary worked with and pronounced Cukor's name as

Cock-or instead of the real pronunciation of Cue-kor. I think Frank was trying to embrass Cary by mispronouncing Cukor's name because of rumors of Cary's sexuality and Cukor's now known homosexuality. Poor Cary, he looked like he had dread when he came to the stage after Frank's embarassing introduction.

  • Sinatra, with his oaf-like antics, is ruining the moment. Them Cary Grant speaks and all the grace and charisma of a great actor and an ageless gentleman shine through.

  • A Tribute to Cary Grant ------> youtube.com/watch?v=unkP7hRIniA

  • He was a lot like me.Get so happy that just laugh away when functional ignorants bully you.

  • One of the greatest actors/ stars of all the times! And also, when you see these clips, you discover that his savoir faire and charm were true and sincere! Where are you my lucky stars?

  • One of the greatest actors/ stars of all the times! And also, when you see these clips, you discover that his savoir faire and charm were true and sincere! Where are you my lucky stars!

  • Sammy was one of the first to stand up. Did you see him?

  • Why were the clips removed from this YouTube video? Was there a problem with licensing?

  • There will never be another Cary Grant.....no one else even comes close! RIP Cary

  • There will never be another Cary Grant....no one even comes close!!!

  • Sinatra looked like an amateur next to this guy, i mean youre at the oscars Frank, not cocktail party

  • Sinatra was bordeline embarrassing for me. Did'nt have to look away , but boy it was a close thing...

Grant's acceptance speach was a pleasant surprise. Gracious. Knowing. Apposite.

The relationship between Grant and Sinatra was not one of mutual respect I suspect...

Grant is most definitely one of the greatest actors.

  • @Counterbrilliance That is so rude.

  • What year was this? I know it's in the 70's

  • I really loved to see this video and shed a tear, i was moved because Cary Grant was really a screen legend and remains, i always loved to watch his films, is my favourite actor and it's hard to meet people like him. i have watched 47 of his films although i am 19 and i try really hard to be like him. Cary Grant could have won these 2 oscars he was nominated. Of course.

  • REST IN PEACE CAREY GRANT & FRANK SINATRA!

  • Is it just me or is Frank being a bit of a twat here. Not your honour Frank, hand it over, shut up and get off.

(I love Frank by the way)

  • Best thing to come out of Bristol. (except perhaps Massive Attack)

  • I live in the same town he was born in!! Bristol England!!!

  • Man even then he looked like a stud!

  • classiest speech ever

  • Presented by Frank Sinatra. Now that's something.

  • I don't like the way sinatra presents the oscar to Mr Cary Grant at 1:55, Frank should know better than to say: 'But while you've got a little energy you'd better take this now, go on take it now before it fall down, that's it.' Horrible.

And why did no one applaud at 5:04 - at least Cary expected it.

  • @tommyboo21 he was on lsd acid

  • I'm 16, and I've loved Cary Grant ever since I was a little girl, and I always will!

  • Archibold Leach from Bristol England, The boy made good

  • I have loved every Cary Grant film i have ever seen. I wonderful Actor, Dancer & Singer. He had so much charisma & charm.

  • man, what a gracious and empathetic speech. Looks like a top bloke.

  • It's worth suffering a minute of Sinatra's egocentric 'hot air' to finally enjoy the distinctive walk of Cary Grant. He has more charisma in a single eye lash than Sinatra has in his entire body. Fair play to Sammy Davis Jr for initiating the 'standing ovation'. Hitchcock had originally wanted Cary to play Rupert in 'Rope', but the studio were worried the role would tarnish his persona as the role implies homosexuality. I'm much more broadminded & sure he could 'Cary' it off. Excuse the pun!

  • Noone can come close to C.G...Never.

  • Frank tried to upstage Cary . . . but in the end Grant was too smart

  • @paddy9i99 Agreed. Bad form. Let it be his day and tone down the me me me thing.

  • Cary Grant is the epitome of class and style.

  • Frank's toupee was really black in this.

  • Cary Grant Surpasses all

  • Oh! He is so dear! I'm so glad God made a Cary Grant - he must've had a lot of fun in the process! :D

  • How old was he in this? He's still hot.

  • PUt a little color into his hair and he didn't change a bit from when he was younger?!

  • All actors should aspire to be as great as this man.

  • HE IS FUCKING AWSOME!

  • Ya know, Kevin Spacey really should play Frank someday. He'd be a great Sinatra.

  • Nice rug!

  • the BEST most well put and educational and classy acceptance speech i have ever heard!

  • Amazing the standing ovation started sooo slowly. These days, people will jump up for ANYONE (even a reality tv tart)..

  • a class man and actor.

  • what being a star is about

  • Talented, classy, good-humored and-from a woman's POV-easy on the eye..lol!

Sad that they seldom make them like that anymore....

  • In my opinion, Cary Grant retired too early. I feel he would've contiued to excel in movies or television througout the 70s & 80s. But, nobody knows Cary better than Cary, and if he felt he needed to retire then so be it. What a gentleman...the King of Class!

  • Clooney isnice but Cary is amazingly handsome and charming.

  • PURE CLASS- A REAL STAR!

  • Such a crime that he never recieved a competitive award

  • 12 people prefer Clooney to Cary Grant... for God's sake...

  • That glorious era right around the corner has yet to come.

  • @MegaFunMovies Not sure if you know your film history there MegaFun... It was called New Hollywood and it sorta rejuvenated the entire industry.

  • Cary Grant = WOW!!! <3

  • Youtube is a great time machine.

  • Cary Grant - a master of self-deprectation. The definition of a sexy man.

  • wow, what a man

  • Cary Grant Born:

    Archibald Alexander Leach

January 18, 1904 in Horfield, Bristol, England, UK

  • Total class and elegance

  • Whatever HE WAS, He was the one and only....Classic gentleman and TRUE Movie STAR, as so many of that era....He was Cary Grant....His stature and diction...simply perfect. So strikingly handsome and the cleft, his chin....he aged so gracefully and knew time was on his side. Taking care and living life to the fullest...LUCKY MAN, knowing Howard Hughes...Lucky Howard H., Loved and knew Cary Grant. Legends of Time, never to be again. HTH in WHG.WV

  • George Clooney is the closest to modern day Cary Grant...and by closest I mean still REALLY far away!

  • @ADirtDiggler That is a stupid, borderline offensive thing to say. You have no credibility. Clooney is not even in the same universe as any of the greats. Shame on you.

  • @ADirtDiggler funny!

  • @ADirtDiggler no way!

  • @ADirtDiggler

I dont think Clooney is a Cary Grant at all.

Clooney is Clooney. He is unique and there is no actors like him at all. He has a great screen presence that is hard to match.

I would not say that he is a lesser version of Grant he is his own man.

  • @bighands69 Clooney is awful, can we stop being so in love with George Clooney, pssshtt

  • @ADirtDiggler Cary Grant's name should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. Grant, Bogart, Gable, Chaplin and Stewart were bigger than life actors. Actors such as these and the affect they had both on the silver screen and in reality are forever lost in time.

  • @ADirtDiggler No comparison.

Clooney is just another modern-day Hollywood shit monger.

  • @ADirtDiggler I'm pretty sure Cary Grant wouldn't annoy me to death with the same 2 or 3 stories about Batman Begins, his villa in Italy and his friendship with Brad during press interviews. Wasn't Frank Sinatra also a star? Jack Lemmon? James Cagney?

  • @ADirtDiggler Pierce Brosnan is much more like him.

  • @MrLunitunz I was wondering who could play Cary in a movie, my choice was Colin Firth but Pierce Bronsan is also another good choice.

  • @ADirtDiggler George Clooney isn't even a pimple on Grant.

  • Love, love, love Cary Grant! One of the greatest actors ever!

  • He looks better at 66 than I do at 49! There will NEVER be another Cary Grant! He was a one-of-a-kind.

  • Seriously, why in the world did Sinatra stay on the stage for so long??? Shut up and go away. How inconsiderate. As if he could compare to him on any level.

  • @888daisy888 I was thinking the exact same thing! Just shut up and go away!!!

  • North by Northwest is such a good movie and Cary was amazing.

  • Painfully handsome. Wonderful posture and voice.

  • Ah, what an awkward moment for Sinatra. Cary Grant wasn't up for jokes.

  • Oh YES people. You stand for that man.

  • Imagine back then if they knew he was Gay, he would never had made it back then. Nowadays no one cares but for a leading man back then it would have been suicide. He was indeed a handsome man in every sense of the word. Charming and a great actor. I met him in Las Vegas in 1971 at a Cosmetics convention, he was working with Faberge at that time, just as handsome as he is here. They don't make them like they used to.

  • my 14 year old daughter taped a photo of Cary on her wall.... I think that says it all. He travels over the generations with grace and wonder. We all love him.

  • @zzyyxxo Your fourteen year old daughter taped a picture of this old gas bag to her fricken' wall!! get her professional help.

  • Katharine Hepburn or James Stewart should have been the ones to present Cary Grant with this honourary oscar.

  • 66 years old, perfect hair.

  • No wonder why so many people of Frank Sinatra's contemporaries couldn't stand him. He was such a pompous, arrogant asshole. You're standing on stage with a living legend, Frank. You aren't fit to carry Cary Grant's water. So SHUT UP witht the stupid fucking jokes to hog the attention and LET HIM SPEAK.

  • @xcalabur19 Ummm...you mean Frank Sinatra was NOT a "living legend" as well?

  • "biggest hit of all times"

  • Only other grey-haired person that's that badass is Mark Harmon (Gibbs from NCIS)

  • Two of my favorite Cary Grants roles: His Girl Friday and Arsenic And Old Lace.

  • It looks like Sammy Davis Jr. was the first to stand up for Cary.

  • Best actor of ALL TIME

  • Class....

  • Cary Grant: Unearthly and amazingly handsome, a true Gentleman with guts, and brains, an unforgettable Artist, thanks for posting.

  • Clearly, one of the greatest actors in Hollywood history. One of the classiest men that ever lived. I am so grateful for this video, as I just love to see him.

  • I miss Cary Grant, these were the days my friend, no one can hold a candle to Cary Grant, the one and only

  • I would've loved to party and hang out with Carey Grant

  • <3 LONG LIVE CARY GRANT! <3

  • The most beautiful man ever in Hollywood.

  • i love the way he talks.

    he's awesome and not appreciated.enough

  • I have never seen a movie of his that i didn't like. I think he was a good and truly sincere person. He should have been selected the most hansome man of the century instead of who ever.I was deeply sadden by his death.

  • jees frank just shut the fuk up nd let the legend speak....think he was making a point????

  • ITS CARY GRANT!! I THINK I JUST DIED AND WENT TO HEAVEN!!

  • Wow: that's one of the finest acceptance-speeches I've ever heard.

  • Frank always wants to steal the show

  • MEMORABLE!!!

  • Geez... was Frank drunk? Let Mr. Grant talk already! ;-)

  • Cary Grant-simply the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mr. Lucky my favorite movie of his!!!!

  • Well done, Cary...You have made so many people happy with your work. We will remember you for ever.

  • I have waited years to watch this. Nobody does it better. The worlds greatest actor and the worlds best leading man. Such grace and as stated below pure class.

  • "Hollywoods most marvelous era"...I agree!

  • Pure class!

  • Ah, the class of yesteryear!! Mr. Grant had more class in his pinky than any of the actors of today. He and others of his ilk spoke with great aplomb and dignity and grace. And in his later years was even more handsome. And no man, maybe with the exception of Patrick McGoohan, could wear a tux better.

  • @maxmom91 Perfectly stated. Thumbs up from me.

  • cary grant and elvis presley handsome men, brad pitt????

  • archibald leach was hes real name and he was born in bristol england

  • RIP Cary Grant

  • I said to the wife who a year ago hated old movies, what movie do you fancy tonight? A Cary Granter she replied. He is stil reaching people years later....:)

  • and he was so clever never to give an real inteview;

Archibald Leach from bristol, England created the art figure Cary Grant!

"everyone wants to be Cary Grant, even I want to be Cary Grant"

I think he looks even better than he was young.

  • @Guenniistes I wish to god I could have seen him in an interview
