Was convinced until I saw this video. Nowhere can a potential buyer find out how to install it (replace the piston?? that'd be considered "gunsmithing"). This lamer video doesn't even show shooter changing mags or working the rachet system (it's on the other side guys). Make a video dumping 300 rounds on full auto and you'll sell the crowd on the gas leaking, heat, and durability issues.
Moving that much reciprocating amss forward doesn't affect followup shot accuracy? I would think it would "walk" the barrel a bit under sustained fire, more-so than the original configuration. Have you noticed any extra muzzle bounce? I have experienced problems with the Original gas tubes and carbon deposits causing feed problems as well, How many rounds have you fed through that setup without cleaning ? Any feed problems at all after sustained use and no cleaning?
I just ordered this product. And i would like too cut off my old bolt carrier handle. to refinish the area that was cut off and ground even. did you use gun blue or duracoat? Thanks again.
I used duracoat but you can use gun blue since it is such a small application. the only reason i used duracoat is because i did the whole rifle at the time. you can use a regular disc grinder/dremal to cut it off and a hand file to smooth it out. hope this helps.
I have a Saiga .223. It's heavily modified and no longer uses the kalishnikov front sight. I have a quad rail on the forend and use ar flip up sights, with an eotech.
@dublinak Great Idea. I buy one now if I still had my AK. Just wondering about that tactical grip. You said it was begining to melt a little bit. Did it really? I had the same grips and I would buy them again accept I dont think I ever put 120 rounds through it that fast so I never had any melting. It would probably convince me not to buy them if its a real issue.
Where do I get one???
brizzad6907 3 weeks ago
idk, won't the open slits in the gas tube cause reliability problems with the gun?

Doesn't work for my high grip like that taught by Magpul. The reciprocating handle would hit me.

Did you apply the DURACOAT yourself or have it done?
bawitibaw 2 years ago
I applied it myself. this was not the high heat duracoat, it was the regular.

I have to have a quad rail for my flip up sights, so this product is out for me.

Sir,
The grips were actually take offs from a bulgy 74 build. and the material was very soft close to the barrel.

LOL from 2:40 ~ 2:55 the camera didn't show how he is clearing the jam. I am guessing FTE because he couldn't get the mag off.
mammoth321 2 years ago
Sir,
It wasn't a jam, the mag catch got caught on the mag lip for some reason. i was using steel Romanian mags.

I dont understand, how to you dissassemble this thing? doesnt that thing sticking out prevent you from removing the charging handle?
SpiroHrvoje1989 2 years ago
The Charging handle is removed before field stripping. i'll post a detailed video about installation soon.
