Is it some one-celled algae inside them, the geen blobs? How big? They are alive, just like a tiny tiny ball whose skin is made up of single cells adhering to one another side by side to form the skin of the baloon that they are. And the inside is just a hallow, if i am not mistaken, it's not a true 'part' of the organism itself, like a true gut would be.
@Shadowstormist No - it came to be as a result of evolution by natural selection. the only random element of evolution are mutations. I really wish people would actually learn about something before they try to be snide about it.
