@DJBYRONDTV - I probably wouldn't recommend this guitar for a beginner. No fret markers, for one. Just get something standard and cheap from Guitar Center, like an Epiphone. You can try it out in the store, and return it if it doesn't work out.
@WayneAlmy - It's really not a 'great' guitar. I liked the blueburst color (it looks almost black in the video) and the smaller size, but it's an unusual guitar (no fret markers, flat fretboard) and I think beginners should get something more standard.
cool thanks. In this video I'm using Fender Stainless Steel 11 gauge flats. I think the guitar is tuned down 3 half-steps (open C#?), and then capo'd back up 2 steps. I also use a soft fat felt pick - the kind that bass players use. These things will really warm up the sound of any guitar. Good luck.
@nomorejournos The scale length and the nut width are normal. However, the freboard has no radius (it's completely flat), and it's 12 frets clear of the body instead of 14.
It's also marketed under the 'Johnson' brand on amazon for about the same price. It's OK as a beater guitar or backup, but I don't think it's great for an actual beginner. It doesn't have fret markers, or a radiused fretboard - something beginners need more than anyone else.
For some reason youtube keeps freezing when i respond to this. I got the guitar from Music123 for like $40. Sometimes it's advertised for even less. It stays in tune just fine after the strings settle in.
Would you recommend this guitar for a starter?

Hey man, I have fallen in love with your guitars tone.
What brand of flats are you using and what tuning are you in?

Where could I learn that song like how you played it? You played it very well.

Don't know the song, but I might get it just because this sounds very good.
Btw, I like your unnecessary emphasis on the feline spectator. lol

oo. But they dont have it at guitar center. Im gonna be a play by ear guitar player
Which guitar from guitar center should i get?
singerhsm9000 2 years ago
Pick up something standard like a beginner Epiphone or Ibanez. You can't go wrong at Guitar Center anyway - if you don't like it, return it.
