Market share has nothing to do with the non-existence of Mac OS X viruses, it is the underlying system, that prevents the privilege escalation a virus needs.

Sorry dude. Avast blows; isn't real-time. Same for ClamXav. You would constantly be having to scan files. Get iAntivirus. Best free one out there.

@FlyingLaptop That's what some fans say. I own Apple products and I love them but viruses do exist for the Mac. Apple even said so on it's Snow Leopard page.

Legos your wrong. Apple do a lot of it. The new release of 10.6.4 was mainly a security update. It don´t exist viruses for mac! Apple take this issue very seriously it´s all about reputation and selling stuff... Market share is no real reason os virus creating. Because why? This guy would become famous. Every hacker would do a lot to be the first one who had fucked Apple. Never less i secure my self twice thats the only reason why i use a antivirus app.

Come on the only reason for your computer to not be infected is because hackers are concentrated in ass fucking windows meanwhile mac's are still a minority that wouldn't turn out in big damage if infected...

Is not because apple doesn't want it, hackers do what they want, It can take more time or less time but they can do whatever they want, just look on who they jailbreak Iphones and ipods before they are even released!
