I've attended many different denomination churches as well as the Kingdom Hall. The one thing I learned seperating Christianity from all others is their belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. You can try to quote the two misenterpreted verses that say not to EAT blood, but please think about it. Yet at the same time willing to deny 100s verses pointing to Christ's divinity?

Think about where you got the idea of not having blood transfusions. YOU tell me what year we should start examining if the WT is telling truth or not. You will find their mistakes and misinterpretations are consistently ongoing. How many people died from not being permitted to have organ transplants; how many spouses and children died from not having blood transfusions, how many children have to be molested?

@metalman330 I've been to a Kingdom Hall on a Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, two assemblies and shadowed my friend (a JW) on a service call.

I was love-bombed on Sunday and Monday, then I saw the true faces of people when the name of a brother and sister were announced as "no longer part of Jehovah's Witnesses."

That look of disgust in their faces was all I needed to know that it wasn't the place to learn of God.

When you were baptized the "reliable chronology" had failed and the governing body was already trying to throw the blame to the brother who believed in them. There are abundant publications that prove that. The speculation of the end in 75 was a big shame. It is sad when I see a JW trying to prove the errors of others churches but dont admit your own.Mat 7:4,5.

@idance28productions What you know now is different than what people knew back then. My family has been witnesses since the 60s. And they can verify, though the strongly dislike the connotation it puts the "truth" in, that there is a history of false predictions of the end time. Now it is declared as close at hand instead of a specific date. But you can look it up and verify it yourself rather than believe because I say it is true. It would be better that you look yourself.

You can verify this in the old books that are harder to find because they were to be destroyed as the newer materials were released. It wasn't the first year predicted, either. I won't claim that half the numbers left, because that's unaccounted for to my knowledge, but I do know that this was claimed by the governing body. Be careful what you declare a lie.

Hebrews was written around 70 A.D., not 1914. So what was Hebrews referring to? It appears to me it's telling us we've been living in the last days since Christ's appearance 2,000 years ago. BTW JWs are not prophets, the prophecies are in the BIBLE and our knowledge is gained from there. We are in a need to know basis. The end will come and paradise will be restored soon enough. What we all should care about is being there and the only way to do that is to love Jehovah God with your whole heart and accept that Jesus died for us so that we could gain back what Adam took away from us. Adam gave us death-Jesus gave us life.

My uncle told me jehovah is not gods name when i was a child and now he sings a church song with the words "Jehovah our god" in it. my grandmother told me that church is a place that only will have religious events yet now they have bake sales there during and after service. Everyone changes what they preach or become more informed as the years go on.

I used to be a JW. I left after 2 years as I decided it was not a God I knew. My God was love and peace, and I could not not relate to a God of 'excessive discipline'. He built a mansion in San Diego called Beth Serem to accommodate the newly raised princes, like David & Abraham. He employed staff to instruct the princes on how to use the telephone & how to drive a car. When 1925 passed, it was swiftly swept under the rug & today, modern day Jehovah Witnesses are kept separate from this embarrassing section of the history. The next prophecy was 1975 although this is denied by Witnesses, despite written evidence and recordings by circuit overseerers.

He studied the Egyptian monument & concluded that using 1 inch of passage = 1 year since creation the world would end in 1914 & when that year passed changed it to 1916. Rutherford, his succesor changed the end of the world date to 1 October 1925 (he even wrote a childrens book called, The Way to Paradise, where he clearly outlines how children need to prepare themselves to meet their deceased parents again after the 1925 event.

The bible alludes that no-one will know when the end of the world will come, HOWEVER read Charles Taze Russel's book, Studies in the Scriptures Part IV, page 605 for a different view. He explains that no man up until him (Russel) will know. He explains that God's son & the angels know exactly the time of the end & they have given him the power of prophesy to interpret God's bible on earth, the Pyramids of Giza.

JWs also predicted Armageddon would come in 1914, 1915, 1918 and 1925 as well as 1975. It was based on biblical calendar among other things. Obviously, they were wrong each time. My Dad was an Elder and Mom was a Pioneer and we waited for the end in September 1975 - it was terrible when it didn't happen.

Sheri is correct. The Watchtower Society did predict 1975 as the start of Armageddon. There was even a Watchtower about it, and talks at the conventions about it. I was there. It did happen. And we waited and nothing happened. Those of you saying that it isn't true are wrong.
