RIM BlackBerry Bold 9000 review 1 of 2 - Design, Keyboard, Email

I had one of these and it was terrible. The first two bricked. The third one had non functioning GPS. YouTube videos stutter...video playback normally resulted in a greenscreen. There's only 40mb for the OS, emails, and apps total. Memorey leaks meant battery pulls every two days. Not to mention it took 4 min to cold boot because of the slow processor. The trackball gets dirty and sticks. This phone can only run flip-phone games...and slowly at that.

I got the similar phone and i got it from my father's friend. So i started using it and the first day i use it, the screen is too bright!! I went to the settings and set the brightness to 10 but its still so bright. Ohh and its quite blur when its bright.. However, sometimes its quite clear and normal brightness.. Anyone can help me with this?

@TheKidHimself1994 I find it SO much better than the optical ones, the optical square ones get loose REALLY quick and are a bitch to get replaced. These last for AGES, and if you do ever need a new one, which you shouldn't, the roller ball is easy and cheap to replace! :)

@jonkinum i think we will be seeing the end of the Trackball with up & coming BB handsets. Its a shame, as i prefer the original trackball instead of the trackpad, not sure why though! The 9000 is undoubtley a great phone, but i doubt they will be bringing it back - fingers crossed hay.

i had this phone for a while then it broke and to be honest it wasnt my cup of tea.

there were a lot of memory leaks and it had trouble connecting to wifi and (just like on many other bold 1s) the volume keys failed because of a loose bolt inside and to change the volume you had to press the screen down. lots of serious problems. oh yeah and it has a low ram so not much for multitasking..

i got the 8900 and i still have it. i love it. okay so it doesnt have 3g but with my bold i never used 3g.

I have one and I can say this. BEST BLACKBERRY EVER. Not even the new 9700 beats it.

Best BB screen.. best button design very comfortable and nice size button. Durable and a leather back. This phone still looks like a brand new BlackBerry.

I would not trade it for ANY OTHER blackberry.
