I'm an Aussie myself, and I live on a small farm out bush. I always have respect for the wildlife. And to have your own children run around I'n the summertime is very dangerous. And death happens pretty quick once bitten by these snakes. So I'm guessing that bears get shot if trespassing into town, or elephants being shot because they don't want to be told what to do anymore. Tiger snakes are a lot more aggresive then eastern brown . stupid of you to pick it up if a snak is twice as long as your arm it can still left its body up and bite you. and ROBERTXR250 it is illegal to kill them you can acctually go to jail if you do so.

Yeah that one is a fairly decent size. Nearly stepped on one yesterday while walking only a meter long though. I've seen them bigger and thicker than that in Victoria. For the guy who said stamp your feet, you have not seen too many snakes in the wild. I've jumped up and down before and they do not move one inch. Sometimes you have to throw a small stick at them to move them on. Yes tigers can get very aggresive in mating season.
