Alter Ego Effectors made the sequel to this pedal. It's called Damnation. It's not the same circuit as the BM pedal and it sounds different, but it has a similar look. I have both pedals. They are evil twins! Google Alter Ego Effectors Damnation it's made by the same guys. It's also a limited edition like the BM pedal.
If anyone is looking to buy one of these pedals i am currently having an auction on ebay for this pedal(number 405 of the 666 made). just search for it on ebay and drop a bid if you want one
I had the pedal gain maxed to 10, shape set to 10, Tone at about 7 or 8 and volume was set at around 5. The amp is a 30 watt Crate set on the clean channel. Bass and treble were pretty much maxed out on the amp. Midrange set at about 5.
thank you. yes, they are all original riffs by me. I'm sure there are many riffs out there that sound similar, but i pretty much made them all up on the spot without thinking too much. I just set up my shitty little camera and hoped for the best ;-)
The BM pedal was not sold in stores. Not many were made. But you can still buy a "generic" version of the BM pedal without the cool BM graphics. Search online for Artec Soloist pedal. They are the same circuits inside. They are both made by the same Artec factory. It's an OEM pedal.
Yeah, it works well with bass too. It's a smooth, but still very aggressive distortion. It doesn't cover up your notes with static/messy distortion. Everything stays clear and well defined. It has a very natural tube amp tone.
@AgainstAllGods666 WANT! I'm playing in an atmospheric black metal band but we just record into a PC and then mix it through various software. I think having this would make it easier, and better to keep levels balanced between instruments.
Cool man. The BM pedal is of course intended to be a fun collectible more than anything...it looks really cool with the kvlt graphics, but it actually does sound quite good. Many "metal" pedals have that certain crappy static or "hissing" sound. Like a buzzing swarm of shit...They have too much gain...It goes against what we think is right, but too much gain does not always make for heavy guitar sound. Less is sometimes more. This pedal has lots of gain, but not an excessive amount
Yeah, it doesn't sound like what most people think it would. It has a good raw tone. Not too "fizzy" or messy sounding. The BM pedal uses the same OEM circuits as the Artec Soloist pedal. It's not a very popular pedal, but it sounds great. I think they tried to make the pedal sound like a JCM 800 or a supercharged tube screamer. Dragonfly got the rights to make a limited edition BM pedal with the Artec circuit. Then they made it into a tribute to classic black metal \m/
what kind of pickups do you use? EMG? What kind of set up/amp did you use? This pedal definitely has an "old school" metal tone. The pedal dosen't produce a modern, ultra high gain sound. It's more like early/mid 80's distortion. Some guys love it, some don't...
seymour duncan live wire metal.i have a line 6 spider valve.but the pedal doesnt make a sound only whistles and the guy that sells these said is cause my pickup is so high out put
Hmm. i've used this pedal with an active EMG 81/85 set and had no problems. Maybe your active duncans are more sensitive or something. I prefer shitty, passive stock pickups these days. The ones in my Ibanez RG350 work just fine for me. I just don't give a fuck anymore.
;( I would kill to have this pedal ;(
