Also, you are absolutely correct that a person must stand true to themselves and not go act out the things they hear because a celebrity said it. However, simple repetition of the message and demonstration that the message is true can make an imprint, however slowly. For example, a music video presents a gorgeous car to your eyes and lyrics about selling drugs to your ears. Over and over. After time, an association is formed. It's proven effective, most famously by Pavlov's dogs.

Interesting discussion, one that I'm interested in. I agree with other posters; it isn't their beliefs, it's the agenda. Personally I think the agenda is more worldly; it's suppression. For example, rap repeats that selling drugs, getting high, buying expensive things, and being violent are the path to success and respect. In reality, they're the road to death and jail. Education, the true path, isn't much promoted.
