Syntax Error was down a long time ago. Pharrox's guide is on Smash Boards but that's an hexing tutorial. I'm sorry, never updated the description. Just look at my videos for the guide. You'll find it easily.

hey dude ur tutorials are good and ur reallly good at editing so i had a question. i got homebrew gecko OS 1.9.1 yadda yadda but when i go to the character selection screen and i change the colors of the people to see my textures it just shows the normal colors? how come? and when i actually play the game then it shows the texture. i dont get it? why wont it show on the character selection screen?

because the character select screen does not contain the same textures. see, you arent editing the textures(if those are textures) on the character select screen so it naturally doesnt show up there.

Thanks! And, that's because you need to make your own Character Selection Portraits. They're not included in textures.

Haha, I find Peach to be extremely easy. I don't see how she is the hardest for you. Try doing Snake, Ganondorf or ROB. Those are harder. Also,  I made a Waddle Dee already and it wasn't that great as the face texture is small.

She's not hard, at all. I think she's one of the easiest. Plus, it seems you have never worked on textures before, am I right? When you only see half of a texture, it means it's mirrored. It saves space on the ISO. Why would you create a whole texture for her dress if you can just put half of it and add more content to the game?

I use photoshop for indexing.

If it's +1/+2, I make it magenta in Paint(dot)net and index in Photoshop. If it's not +1/+2 but can be made transparent, I just erase in Paint(dot)net.

I did a texture of Diddy, but when I did Step2, it said there were errors for the palettes, where do I get them, and are they neccessary?

You have to put magenta in the checkered areas then index the picture with photoshop. Otherwise, Diddy will have confettis as fur and they will be white.

It's just a palette error.

If your texture is +2 and that you see a checkered part, make it magenta and index the texture. If there's no checkered part, then you don't have to put magenta. You do have to index it though.

What does +2 mean, and by indexing, you mean changing it from rgb to indexed, right?

Look at the name of the texture. If it ends by +1(dot)tga or +2(dot)tga then it's a +1 or +2 texture.

And yes, that's how you index.

Index it to "Exact". If that option can't be chosen, choose "Local (Selective)".
