indeed that face was the highest artistic construct Nature has ever produced - it was not real the degree of its plasticity, the aristocracy of the shape, the ingenius Dramatic lines, the ability to change like her voice into myriads of different directions

I think people havent still realized how rare the Callas Being was - not one in the century but one in the History of Human Kind

@LohengrinT I don't think SHE even realized her uniqueness, otherwise she wouldn't have stopped studying, performing and recording just when stereo sound became established. And she wouldn't have sacrificed her gigantic artistic gifts for partying with 'high' society or having an affair with that Philistine, Onassis. But, if her heart hadn't been so stormy, would she have left us such dramatic treasures? Zaccaria has said, she was the focus of the performance, everybody else was decoration.

to deny love? she loved Onasis from the bottom of her heart - and that requires respect no matter what beast onasis was - in fact that she was she loved him that much - he wasnt intimidated by the Goddess - he treated her like a woman - deny the high society? a woman studying ALL her life didnt deserve some playground?

Her life was Wise Perfect and Romantic - to its very end

@LohengrinT She definitely deserved love and joy. Callas, this rarest and most sublime of beings, deserved every good thing. What I am lamenting is the fact that, regrettably, all this brought about her artistic and, eventually, physical destruction. And that is something that art didn't deserve. Of course she cannot be blamed. She gave everything all that she had. Unlike so many of today's artists who economize with voice and emotion, probably in order to last longer. It's all so calculated.

all get destroyed at the end, it is the most common natural Law - none of them had the Poetic Beauty and Tragic Magnificence of Callas' End - most of them get destroyed as common people after living a life full of incredible compromises on personal and artistic level

Her Life was in absolute agreement with the gigantic proportions of her Art

@LohengrinT , I like your observation very much, yes indeed, Miss Callas was one of a kind, no more, she was the One and Only. She had a very dramatic presence as well, I imagine her walking in room.

Isn't it ridiculous that a famous conductor would confront Callas with gossip rather than a music issue? This woman was a pearl before swine.
