Well there goes 98 minutes of my life. Had to stop and re-watch many segments to make sure I saw them correctly. I would not be proud of producing this film. Very poor production quality. Budget is no excuse. Creative effect is no excuse. If this was desirable, then everything would be shot with a cheap, handheld camera and all the sound would be live-miked. You're allowed to spend some time in Post, really.

i really like this movie. more than kids. its as disturbing as a movie could possibly be in my opinion. their lives are so fucked up.. they're all living like animals, which is what we all are, which reminds me of how fake and artificial the wealthy suburban society i live in im. i'm not saying i want to trade places with anybody in gummo. i'm not complaining. its just an unsettling realization

I do not advocate using drugs, but i feel obliged to mention that each time i watch this film under the influence; whether it's opiates, weed, alcohol, xanax, psychedelics, or all of the above, i walk away from the experience with far more eye-opening interpretations and ideas about the film as well as a deeper appreciation of it than i have had from watching it stone-cold sober. not saying you have to be on drugs to like the movie, but for me i find it easier to comprehend and enjoy that way.

I think I get this movie it's about the lives of all these ppl, but to do a movie about just one or two of them wouldn't be enough substance, this is similar to real life, and ppl's real lives aren't all that exciting, so putting little clips of the whole town makes for a good movie.
