The higher the population, the more poor people there are. You know what it's like in places that ARENT those 2 cities? HUGE miles, and miles of farms, and make-shift houses, villages where the government hasn't even discovered yet. Know how I know? My aunt is hired to go and hunt those villages down (for not paying taxes)
And do you know JUST how they find those villages? They overtake them. Something that happens ALL the time in Brazil that no-one heres about is the un-spoken civil war. My aunt is part of a group of rebels who aim to go to entire towns who have seperated from the government. Those towns supposedly have never had outside contact. I'm Brazilian and it is true. Brazil is one of the most violent places on Earth. Not as bad as South Africa but that is not much of a relief. Rio 2016? It's a joke. We look around here and there is so much misery on our streets. Yet, we will spend US$14 billion on these stupid games. That's a slap on the face of every poor Brazilian living in these slums. A few months ago a police helicopter was shot down here in Rio. Where else does this type of stuff happen?

Ross Kemp is amazing, i love his books and documentaries. He met gang members in Brazil, Jamaica, Los Angeles, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Poland, etc. In his last documentary, documentary on pirates, he spoke to pirates in Somalia and Singapore. Amazing job. He's very lucky , he s been to the most dangerous places on earth, and never got hurt.

I live here. The thing is, that the rich, and poor, are BOTH growing. It is the middle-class that is disappearing. Everyday it seems that crack is what impoverishes many good people, that group together in places where they can hide-out, and live amongst each other in forrests, or less police-presenced areas. Then the number of people there grow, and grow. But that area is SURROUNDED by MANY beautiful homes and such. However, the area of poor homes, are DESERTS

And brazil has 2 kinds of poverty. Urbanized and unurbanized. The 'favelas' are caused by mass grouping of poor people along highly populated areas like Rio, and Sao paolo. The higher the population, the more poor people there are. You know what it's like in places that ARENT those 2 cities? HUGE miles, and miles of farms, and make-shift houses, villages where the government hasn't even discovered yet. Know how I know? My aunt is hired to go and hunt those villages down (for not paying taxes)

And do you know JUST how they find those villages? They overtake them. Something that happens ALL the time in Brazil that no-one heres about is the un-spoken civil war. My aunt is part of a group of rebels who aim to go to entire towns who have seperated from the government. Those towns supposedly have never had outside contact. Yet, they fight back against my aunt's and many other's groups with AK's and RPGs. You think they made them? No, the government SELLS it to them, but keeps it quiet
