you can just split the timeline at playhead where you say the word, begining and end, and then mute the clip and puting in the beep

I dont use the boring old censor beep anymore. I use lots of other sounds for censoring like Sea Lion Barks, cow moos and Car horns. I like to put in variety.

just use audacity. u go to generate-tone. set frequency to 875.5(to sound like it does on tv) and click generate tone

Complicated? Rather easy actually as the video show! and also it will show that there is actually something being censored because some might think it's an audio glitch if it just mutes.

this is iMovie HD from iLife 06, you probably have iMovie 08 which is stripped down and very poor compared to the older iMovie. you can get iMovie 06 from the link im about to put in the side bar

Thanks! That is very helpful. It doesn't look too complicated either once you get the hang of it. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements for video editing...it's just a bit too confusing. I use Windows Movie Maker even if it has less effects just because it's easy to grasp. Well, anyway, thanks for the tutorial! :)

Pretty cool. The mac looks so much easier than windows for video editing. I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements for my videos and the most basic editing seems to be more complex than it needs to be. Nice technique.
