1st person that I have seen that has an in-dash scanner. I have a handheld that I keep in my truck. I power it off the cig lighter jack which charges up the batteries in it. I made an antenna for it from an old mag mount cell phone antenna. There's too much bass if I run it through my main speakers so I feed it into a cheap amplified computer speaker which is powered by the truck. Can't pick up much anymore. Michigan is mostly digital trunking now.
@jctoad agree. I tried to run it through the aux input of the radio and it was a little much. I also have a handheld scanner with the apco 25 so I can listen to the digital stuff. I do a lot of amateur work so the analog is still pretty useful. Good idea on the computer speaker; I have a few laying around!
