  • Love the voice at the end...Yeah men that was awesome and a half!!!

  • EC's hair has changed weekly since 1968. Let it flow.

  • Haha. 3:08 "That was awesome. You remember that from back in... '67?" That's funny.

  • Damn, I've seen him live twice but haven't seem him perform this song live yet!! :( Not Forever man or Running on faith either. Sooo many songs I wanna hear though, impossible to get to see them all I guess.... :P

  • Damn Eric is 65?...good god guess I'm gettin older too.

80's weren't kind to the man but he still can play.

  • omfg i have to see him live atleast once in my life !!!!!!adjsbfadnsfansfasdfa

  • Dude' looks old !!! him and jimmy page look like shit!!! now!

  • hes actually lipsinging its lipsinging that was altered to sound like its comin out of a mic i swear to god

  • @GamingStrategies damn you may be right ! I hope he doesn't...

  • Vintage Slowhand.

  • i have that very model guitar :)

  • Just love him, one night me and my bff had a few wine coolers too many and played this song about 20 times. Two blacks chick really rockin this one out, lol!!!

  • Yeah. Give us a clean-shaven face -- at least a somewhat cleaner shave -- and hair that isn't in a losing tug of war with gravity.Your artistry is -- as it always has been -- super, though.Thank-you, Mr. Clapton, thank-you.

  • e's the greatst!! who caes wht his hair looks like...its all about the music !!!

  • @planetj42 I actually like the hair - it inspired me to let mine grow for a while too...

  • Awesome video!

  • The man says it right here..."Here's what you're getting and I don' wanna change" and he doesn't have to does he?

  • @oneidafish He did change, IMO for the worse. The "new" album is a testimate to that change. He can do whatever he wants and does. Good for him.

  • @ecSee you are right. I do not care too much about the albums, because it seems healthy for a professional musician to explore new sounds, genres, and maybe revisit favourite songs when recording. However, what I find interesting is the apparent lack of dedication to the instrument in a guitarist. In an interview he admits he saw videos of himself in Youtube from the nineties (perhaps the Nothing but the Blues tour) and that he could not play now most of the things he could play then.

  • @Samueltrad You have got to be kidding! "Apparent lack of dedication to the instrument"?????? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Clearly you know nothing of Eric's work. He made those comments about his playing in reference to the fact he's getting old! Can you say that you're just as skilled as something now as you were years and years ago (I have no idea how old you are, by the way). It's ridiculous to even think that someone might be able to, in their late sixties, do what they could decades before.

  • @AndrewP222 whomever this is to clearly didn't hear that he gets off on a screaming guitar....lack of dedication my ass. lol I'm 24 and Clapton is the MAN!

  • @oneidafish my dad died june 18 2010, he was claptons age. sudden heart attack driving. we had had our last conversation an hour before. we both always wanted a 57 chevy to restore. this song hits at the heart! killer tune!!!!

  • I saw him in concert.

  • Great performance :) One of my favorite of Clapton's pop songs.

  • Touring is no easy business especially @65! Give the man a break...I learned how to play guitar listeni ng to Ec records back in 1974. The man never ceases to amaze me in his depth as a guitarist & vocalist. Youcan't watch a video & judge him, Live in concert will send shivers up your spine with his guitar! He continues to grow as an artist & a person who has overcome drugs, the death of a child as well as friends like Hendrix, Duayne Allman, SRV.

Clapton is an amazing artist who inspired me

  • sick hair

  • eric you are the best.

    BUT loose the hair......

  • The older The Better!

  • master piece!!!!

  • @wantrice You would have to ask him why his live song list over the last 4 years has remained 70% identical. I really don't care about the reason. As a person that has seen him over the last 30 years over 40 times, he's changed and his concerts lack originality that he had for the last 20. He's still a great guitar player, but how many times do I want to hear the same well played 15 songs when he has a collection of >30 albums?

  • @ecSee

Understand that it's not just him, it's his whole band.

I'm sure he could and would play anything from his entire past and present repertoire if in a solo acoustic scenario like Jackson Browne did, taking requests from the audience. It's a lot of work getting a band that large in the pocket for more than 20 songs or so.

  • @coolmodine over the last 4 years?

  • Is there any better guitar player that is still living......God I could listen to him all day......He is the best around.

  • Clapton is God!

  • His hairstyle is very reminiscent of the 1992 unplugged. Just not nearly as dark. Still an inspiration to my playing.

  • well nothing last s forever, even the greats start to falter but he will always be the best .

  • I get off on screaming guitar.

  • he looks a bit dif lol

  • Eric simply has nothing to prove and he can do what he wants. He's payed his dues people....

  • Great video and sound. Thanks for posting.

  • It became never a Rory Gallagher

Clapton live no more sinds John Mayall always a litle stupid man

  • Its not a Rory Gallagher!!!!!!!!

Claton is from the time with JOHN MAYALL,

    Disturbing and a litkle stupit!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i was watching layla live in 2009 on a different video, and clapton looked GREAT!!! here, he looks 20 years older? what the hell is wrong?! this is scaring me...he looked terrible here! he even looked like he didn't want to be at the gig that night. not the usual clapton attitude.

  • Very interesting comments. Since I'm the poster a 50 year old man that has seen Clapton 50 times in the last 30 years here's my view point. In the 70 and 80 and even the 90s Eric's show where spontaneous, he'd yell out key changes interact with the audience. I did not even bother to go to the Chicago Crossroads after going to the earlier three. Eric was original, strived for perfection but he remains one of the best guitars albeit its rehearsed, robotic and the same songs now on tour.

  • @ecSee I feel like the change in tour style is simply his age. I mean his music style has also dramatically changed from the 80s to the new millennium. I mean his not in his 30s anymore.

  • He's a polished professional at this point. The majority of his tour audiences are people over 30 who expect to see a very clean and put-together show. If you wanna see him experiment and do some crazy improv. try to find him at a festival or something. I saw him in Atlanta doing a 'typical' tour show however, and loved it.

  • ive been to like 30 + Clapton concerts over the years, man has he aged, he just like hit a fucking wall, anyway, i personally have not been too eager to attend his concerts the last 10 years or so,Why ?....well hes been playing the same fuckin solo with the same licks for years, he comes on stage with fucking slippers or sandels, add all the accoustic shit he does now to fill out his sets, who wants to hear Layla in accoustic anyway, wtf !...if i wanted accoustic id see James Taylor !

  • @ronnied828 I saw EC this past spring, and the first thing I noticed was how much he had aged since I saw him a couple of years ago. At first, I thought maybe he was ill, but after a while it was clear that he was.... just old. He has this double chin thing and goofy hair that really changes his look for the worse I think. He had Chris Stainton with him and that was very cool!

  • I'm not gonna keep reading these comments cause I'm getting pissed! Let me tell ya'll something, I just saw him on July 2nd in Noblesville (Indianapolis) and he killed it!!! It was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!! The man is a God on guitar & a musical icon so please show a little respect & another thing, his set list was not at all the same as the last 3 years he's been around here. He played some of the big hits of course & he played some more obscure songs too, everything was great!

  • great song

  • i was at this show. beck and clapton were GREAT. truly was a great show. man clapton is getting old. great though. wouldn't expect anything less.

  • I saw Clapton last night, and it was by far the best concert that I have been to. Love his music. I'm still shocked that some of my friends don't know who he is (I'm 16).

  • always good to see that ec smile 3:08 - 3:12

  • @WeRockHard3211 i saw him at summerfest too, he was really awesome!! and there was a guy who kept screaming CLAPTON IS GOD after it was over...lmao it was a great concert

  • I just saw Clapton at summerfest...it was THE best show I have ever seen...I think he really might actually be God!!

  • this i one deep cut

  • HAHAHAHA LOVE the "witless commentator"!!!!

  • i saw him 6 days ago in istanbul,i cant even explain, this videos aren't enought, when you re watching him in stage, live, you can really understand why he is GOD,

  • LOVE you ERIC......Look Good, sound good, thanks for the INSPIRATION!!!! Now I'm gonna ''KEEP ON ROCKIN''!!! Blessing's, Peace, Love, Light!!!

  • WHOH!!!! in 2010

  • nothing like Eric's 00028 Martin and his special voice to mellow and stimulate at the same time....thanks Eric,, see you in Detroit ! 2010

  • Johnny Depp

  • I can't wait for Toyota Park... Yes I can....See you guys there.

What a Beautiful picture. Thanks for the beautiful video.

  • wonderful.clapton is god.Rock and roll heart live amazing!

  • my GOD is getting older!

i wish if i could see him live in my life.

    Long live Clapton!

  • Eric clapton.. YOU ARE GOD

  • haha I remember wondering why eric's leg was spazzing when I was there. I was so glad he played this on the 19th! He hasn't touched this in years

  • i'm glad he still tours, i thought he retired

i love his music very much

  • why are my rock and roll legends getting old with me!!!! why why????

  • He's one of the greatest preformers I've ever had the privlage of seeing live. Long live EC!

  • 3:10 That was like Joan Baez! That was awesome! Sounded and looked like Clapton to me lol.

  • Eric I Listen To Him Since 1990's

    Love Him Till I Die

  • @mkeywork Same for me! born in 92' and this guy made me play the guitar at the age of 5!

  • I saw him in Nashville last month, and he did this song(but on his electric, if I recall). And cameras werent allowed, so Im glad you uploaded this so I can have something watch to remind of the show(even though I dont think I'll ever forget it). Thanks!

  • @bertz92 I was there as well great seats and Roger Daltry did a good mix of his solo stuff and the Who's....really loved Behind blue eyes! great show and a great time!!

  • I was there! Thanks for uploading, amazing concert!

  • Great video and sound, Thanks for sharing!

  • My husband corrected my ignorance-it was two B3 Organs the keyboardists were playing.

Definitely EC looks lovely in this video, but last Saturday night, he looked very tired.

Anyone who can catch him next time around-DO IT!

  • Back to looks and the real point:

When I saw EC last Saturday night, his goatee had gone straggly, he was wearing baggy jeans -like they had elastic waist-and a too big shirt, but EC's mastery of The Blue and how gracefully the show unfolded, you were transcended beyond superficial and FELT you were hearing something uniquely original in what EC has played hundreds of thousands of times before, and he was LOVING IT and everyone was LOVING him back.

May he and the band rest well and return asap.

  • I was at that concert in Orlando also last Saturday night.. In the words of my wife a "delightful concert".

  • I saw the Master EC last night in O'town.

His look was more relaxed, the band was tight and the energy high all night.

I have tried to make this video a FAVORITE, but no luck with the new YT system. Any help would be most appreciated,

    little sister,

    xoxe

  • yeah I saw him in orlando too it was great

  • I also drove down from JAX to see the Otown show. Incredible energy - I totally agree. Loved the set list, too! I also liked the fact that he was the only guitarist, he usually has at least 1 more. Surprised how much energy they had, given that Otown was the last stop of the tour.

  • @Troy3977 Thanks for intelligent reply and i thought too that he was whipped from the road, but he closed his eyes and soared and took us with him and so what he looked like a schlep. And NO, i couldn't care less about his wrinkles-i have my own-i was only meaning he was TOTALLY RELAXED and didn't give a flying F' what anybody thought of his look-he is a god for JC's sake and what a great night of fun was had by all.

  • @Troy3977 YES also on his being solo guitarist-and how he honors the keyboards and piano, my husband is damn near 72 and just did Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue for 150 people who gave him a standing O.

BUT those MASTERS from the other night, OMG!!!

  • dont get me wrong i love clapton but hes looking pretty rough these days

  • I disagree. I like his new sophisticated look

  • @kzearo

Yes, "sophisticated" seems to be the fitting adjective . I also like his new look . :-))

  • Well WTF? What's he supposed to do get a Fing Facelift or something? The man is damn near 70 years old.....DUH!

  • @terr15bear

Last night he looked like a roadie who hadn't showered that day.

But he was AMAZING-he makes it look effortless at being so damn good.

  • I will be with family and friends @ a Clapton concert tomorrow tonight. i am already smiling out loud at the great time we will have and so very happy to hear this song is in the repertoire.

  • Excellent video shot! I saw him play in Atlanta; got video of him performing "Driftin'" on my Youtube site. It's of far less quality than this.

  • clapton looks like a crazy professor in college here! lol.

  • HAHAHA!!! yes!!

  • Was just Roger, but he had a kickin band. Played songs more in his range now that he's in his 60's, nothing he had to really strain on like in the super bowl.

  • i was at the concert and trust me...and he rocked like he was in his 40s...you should check out the I shot the sheriff version he did in this concert

  • I saw him last night in Raleigh too. Decent job. The Who opened for him. He didn't play all his standards and he didn't seem really into it, but come on, he's Clapton. He can get up there and belch the alphabet and it'll light the roof on fire.

  • the who opened for clapton? as in pete and roger????

  • Yes indeed. It caught me off guard. They sounded a lot better than they did at the superbowl.

The performance in this vid was exactly the same as what I saw last night. The backup singer on the right at 0:53 was wearing the same dress too. lol.

  • @TheVillainOfTheYear Good for The Who. Older or not, their Super Bowl halftime show was awful. You'd think by now they would have enough money and wouldn't embarass themselves in front of a billion people. Clapton still sounds great and he's not exactly a kid.

  • just saw clapton last night in raleigh; and he blew the damn roof off! so amazing!

  • I don't Clapton on the acoustic Just my preference

  • CLAPTON IS GOD

  • this song is sooooo great and a classic

  • ONLY 1 day to go and ill be seeing him myself!!! anyone care to give me a heads up on his set list with roger???

    CLAPTON IS GOD

  • @moatgoat4...I went saturday in New Orleans! it was amazing.....clapton blew me away like i knew he would...daltry was really good also i was impressed with both of them for putting on a great show!

    clapton is god!

  • I went to his consert in new orleans it was great

  • I saw him tonight! Like, an hour ago! SECOND ROW SEATS, RIGHT INFRONT OF HIM! WE MADE EYE CONTACTT! :D

  • me 2!! i just saw him an hour ago in

    New Orleans.....simply AMAZING!!!

  • I saw him in Nashville. He was awesome.

  • Its GREAT to see him pull this one out of moth balls one more time :)

    Long Live SLOWHAND

  • BEST GUITAR PLAYER EVER...love clapton!

  • @beachbum8972 couldnt agree more

  • Going to see him this Saturday in New Orleans, so stoked.

  • Me, too!!!

  • People can get old, but music will not !

  • I was there- 3rd time seeing eric, 1st time seeing Jeff... woke up the next morning and bought my Crossroads festival tix! Now I gotta find a way to Chicago!

  • i was there.......best concert EVER!!!!

  • i was there. great, great, GREAT show!!!! i was very disappointed that he didn't play layla at all. i would have rather had layla as an encore than crossroads. but i LOVE crossroads as well. great show, nevertheless. (guys, i'm 14 years old and saw eric clapton!!!!!)

  • EC is God!... still beeing...

  • Rhmetal, how did u get front row?? Just curious

  • Long hair!!

  • He can still rock that long hair :D

  • Seeing him in Tulsa tommorow night front row! I have two predictions:

    1. J.J. Cale might join him since he lives in Tulsa.

    2. Eric will play Tulsa Time.

  • there is a god on that stage....

...and his name is Steve Gadd

  • @tombonomy the man is a legend! i had a great side stage 24 rows up view of him in toronto feb.21 ,mr energy.

  • Yeeeeeeah!!! Thanks for uploading!!! He played this Feb. 21, 2010 at the ACC in Toronto, too!!!

  • Seen him this past Saturday in Nashville, and he was amazing. He's every bit as good as he has ever been, smooth and precise with every note on point. Truly the greatest guitarist alive.

  • i saw in nashville as well.....very great

  • Same drummer from MSG 1999 :D !

  • I´ve never knew he would do this live. This one is great : )

  • Yeah I didn't think so either, I think he does it now because he has that commercial that plays this song

  • @Stjonnypopo What commercial is that ?

  • T-Mobile my touch 3g fender

  • Hey ecSee, at least Eric is playing material that he hasn't played in over 20 years live like "Forever Man,"Motherless Children," Derek and the Dominos and "I've got a Rock N' Roll Heart."Eric might be bored, but maybe it's a good thing because he playing he old material live again. Did you ever get too see live when Derek Trucks was touring with him?

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 yes. Like I said 70% of the set list is the same. Just silly that he has 30 years and 30 albums of content to pick from. Come on Little Queen of Spades has been on the set list for over 4 years.

  • I just saw this tonight in Nashville. I loved it.. It was played with Vince Gill.

  • love this song!

  • clapton is god

  • not on this tour. NY Times and I call it dull, thou I still like it. I've seen EC 10 times in the last 4 years and heard triple the boots and you've seen him in the last 4 years, get ready to hear him play 80% of the same songs.

Eric a guy with 30+ albums and is a legend, should stop acting likes he's not bored or putting much renewed effort into his concerts.

  • @ecSee after 40 plus years he's probably a little tired. give credit where credit is due and stop being selfish. no offense but he deserves this comment.

  • @brandomitcho I don't understand what being tired has to do with playing the same ~15 songs when you have a catalog of >30 albums. As a top fan that has seen him >40 times over the last 30 years, I have little desire to go see him. He can do whatever he wants, he's still a great player, just sharing my view that I'm into him anymore. Many of my regular (older fan friends) have the same view point.

  • @brandomitcho Jeff Becks' been playing just as long as EC. And I don't see him getting tired at all. In fact he gets even better with age if that's possible. Sorry, I liked EC in the 60's and a few things in the 70's but he's been on auto pilot for the last 35 years or so. Luckily, he's a good singer and excellent songwriter or he would have been finished by the eighties or at least in Peter Frampton 's position for the last 30 years: still coming around, but to little fanfare.

  • @RubHerSoul1

Jeff Beck has been playing as long as Clapton yeah, but he hasn't been touring every year for the last 45years. Lets be honest, Clapton doesn't need the money , hes a living legend worth millions. He's doing it for love. Stop slagging him off. Just enjoy the music.

  • @tvauders Actually he says he does need the money that his lifestyle, boats, multiple houses and cars, need him to tour.

  • CLAPTON IS GOD!

  • Clapton Is God!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing

  • omg this was on my birthday!!! XD

  • excellent! really good wish i could be there

  • Finally found a legit version of the song!

  • I really wish he and Beck would come out to L.A.

  • do you have other videos from this concert? I went the day before, it was great!

  • i love this song i wish i was there to c this

  • Is this from nashville?

  • no, from New York at MSG.

  • probably the recent shows with jeff beck

  • Great times!!

  • Oh, how I laughed when your little annotation came up at the end about the drunk guy. What, do people become blind when they drink? They can't see that you're RECORDING?? lol. Thanks. It's a great post. :))

  • To be honest, the comments at the end were OK - that was an old one not played often in past 30 years and was awesome.

  • I was there too!! Great show!! Thanks for posting this!

  • Thank you, ecSee!

  • I was there last night as well. Stunning concert. It was great hearing this one!

  • Amazing song and amazing performance! I hope he keeps this for Canada tomorrow!

  • Great ... from Money And Cigarettes album, 28 years ago !!!!!!

  • EC is the business...hands down
