  • Kenya isnt ready for this.

  • Good work man!

  • this GUY COULD START A COMPANY AND CATAPULT KENYA INTO A FIRST WORLD ----IF HE NEEDS FUNDING HE SHOULD CONTACT ME

  • This guy is AWESOME! I love the creativity of this. It's pretty rube goldberg like, and yet it all works the way it should. The use of the switches and rotating cams is simple, but effective. This guy truly rocks!

  • He is a genius. I have heard about Africans using cellphones for all kinds of stuff. I believe another Kenya why using it to start his car and shut it down and hear conversation going on in his car. they are born engineers and sciencetists, they need funding and formal education.

  • that is good use of mobile technology.........

  • This proves how stupid I am. It's totally cool that he uses his phone like an all purpose tool.

  • this guy needs some funding - imagine what he could do if he had some scratch.

  • This guy has a lot of potential and deserves more attention and support.

  • Good luck to this guy for being so innovative with recycled resources. Hope someone out there sees a good investment opportunity and helps you get something off the ground.

I'm saddened to see the irrelevant racist drivel posted here. No doubt it was written by someone with far less creative intelligence than the dude in the video :)

  • @sethdickens let us put our monies together we should stop letting such talent go to waste if we want to get rid of poverty in kenya ----we could start our own silicon valley in kenya and sell this technology all over Africa and beyond

  • Give this guy an Iphone so he can truly harness his powers of innovation!

  • this guy can make millions off of this idea. only he has to patent the idea and a few investors can risk investing in the idea.

  • u can alredy do tha...WTF??

  • Sorry to kill this pipe dream, but the adt and other home security in united states have this all worked out already...

  • He needs to first patent his innovations, then look for funding, otherwise he'll be taken advantage of.

  • pffft, innovative stuff like this is all over the third world, they use what they have and i doubt he'll burn his house down because he's probably used to having to deal with electricity in this manner, unlike the average first-world-er who has been so insulated, no pun intended.

  • what this guy need right now is a scholarship to a MIT. When he gets back in say four or five years, we will all reap the benefits as Kenyans, that's if he decides to come back. LOL

  • Oh, when Mark Zuckerbag invented Facebook while a first year at Harvard, he left; when Bill Gates invented Microsoft's first Operating System, he left Harvard; now this guy has invented something and you want him to go to MIT? What for? This guy can now make millions - the big question is, DID HE PATENT HIS WORK?

  • Uh, Mark Zuckerberg didn't really invent anything. Bill gates even though he quit harvard, he didn't just do it foolishly, he already had the advanced knowledge he needed to pull it off. This jamaa needs to go to schoool not to stop inventing but to improve himself. Once he feels he has gotten what he needs, he can then follow in Bill Gates' footsteps. But for now, he probably doesn't even know patent laws and whether what he's doing is already been done elsewhere.

  • The Government needs to support technology. Lack of research and development R & D Has only but marginalized people into dependence of Agriculture only. Imagine what can be done if Kenyan with innovative ideas were supported by the government.

  • great job,well done

  • Somebody remind that boy to patern his innovation word wide b4 somebody steals it....

  • it's probably already been stolen, or someone will claim he stole the idea when he attempts to steal it. That someone will be white so guess who your government will listen to? someone without an engineering degree or the mzungu with one.

  • Great job, especially the mix of old and new technology!

  • a regional powerhouse?!?! why limit yourselvelves to just a shitty region when you ought to be taking on the entire world? tangling with the japans, china canadas etc and yes i daid shitty as it aptly describes the entire region by world standards

  • Good job Mwaura....genius in our own local way

  • Wow!!soo amazing,i wish our govt can support him....

  • I am happy to see the innovation of Mr. Mwaura. It may not be a very new idea but the fact that a Kenyan is doing it makes me very proud. Please think further Mr. Mwaura. The only problem is that we think, then don't actualise them. Can somebody fund him please???? To research more and think of how the idea can be commercialised??

  • how about we start with you? Contact Mwaura and fund him. hehehe
