Cool. Can't wait to see how it works in your follow on videos. I was interested in fliming the kids snorkelling so I made a much more rudimentary housing using a sandwich box (the type with an o-ring seal) and the lid of a pringles tube. It looked horrible and I was afraid to take it deeper than about half a meter but.... it did the job. My first video using a Kodak Zx1 Camera in on the EyesOnMalta channel. Check it out if you are interested by searching for yUrK7b-SDiQ
Dude i have just seen your camcorder housing a few months ago and have now made my own one, almost the same as yours but mine has a rear-viewing lens and a waterproof switch (mechanical) to operate the Pause/Record button and it works great at 15 meters deep.
the only thing I would change about this video is the amount of times that you frickin breath on the mic! ugh it's so annoying but good vid other than that, I like the idea but why a two piece housing? why not make it one piece
Hi Nick here from NZ again. Tested the housing to 35 metres yesterday. No problems. BUT I'll need to make sure that there is no dust on the inside of the screen as the auto focus will focus on the dust rather than your subject !! Keep up the good work , Nick.
This is fantastic! Please continue with the series! I would like to know how you solve the controls (glands) issue and the back plate! What camera are you going to use? Regards from the caribbean!

Great video.
Did u use pvc primer before using the cement to glue the pvc?
I found a slightly curved endcap, would that work anyway?
Is there anyway to make the back with perplex so that i can see what i'm recording?
thanks
