Thanks to this trade though at least Sixers will be about $10 million under the cap for next off-season. Giricek is an expiring contract and Sixers can now go for one of the big free agent names or a number of good FAs.

its not all about getting the best player...philadelphia got financial flexibility in trading korvers 15 million dollar deal for giriceks expiring contract and plus korver was on a slump in philly. and with the draft pick they can add more youth and athleticism to the team.

i'm from suburbs of philly, i see almost every sixers game locally on tv, trust me korver sucks, hes scared to hold the ball and takes terrible percentage shots all the time, i'm not making this up to be mean but he sucks
