  • kurt is dead! im happy!

  • @mordechaifrog Fuck you.

  • Mustang,

    Long blond hair.

    Says enough.

  • Okay... to you ignorant fucking members of my generation, Mark Arm was a huge influence on Kurt. Mudhoney was one of Kurt's favorite bands. So, if anything, Kurt was a Mark shadow. I'm a huge Nirvana fan, they're my favorite band- but I don't assume every blonde dude is Kurt Cobain. Neither should you. Google it, I'm not talking out of my ass

  • Oh my god. Mudhoney was there before Nirvana, they were inspiration to Kurt, just like Kurt was inspiration to others. Stop comparing them, obviously grunge bands have things in common, that doesn't mean they're copying Nirvana. Fuck, man. Just listen to the music.

  • long hair is one part of grunge

  • WHY EVERY FUCKING GRUNGE VIDEO HAS "KURT, KURT, KURT" Stop it! This isn't Nirvana. This isn't Kurt, if you wanna see him and talk about him, go to their videos. But seriously EVERY FUCKING GRUNGE VIDEO.

  • kurt's fuck up shadow!

  • why cant you just enjoy the GOOD music....who cares about nirvana or mudhoney copy thing those bands love each other :) the important thing is that grunge is alive !!!

  • @Narbzord1 Exactly!

  • If it were not for Mark Arm inspiring Kurt Cobain, there would be no Nevermind, and thus most of us would never have known Nirvana.

Kurt loved Mudhoney, so fuck off all the 'honey-haters.

  • kurt was left handed. this isnt kurt. kurt isnt the best. there is no best. mudhoney. not nirvana. so what. love to..GRUNGE!!!!

  • fuck yeah, ampeg and fender combos..... thats rock and roll.

  • They will be Led Zepplin, The rolling stones, The Beatles, and The Who. mean while bands like Mudhoney, The Pixies, Screaming Trees, and Melvins, although awesome as they were, will be the likes of MC5, Link Wray and the Ray Men, Dick Dale and the Dell Tones, and Muddy Waters. That's just how music works. There are those who inspire then there are those who are inspired, and take it up a notch to become legends.

  • Personally my favorite band out of this era is hands down Alice in chains! They were far greater than all of the bands in grunge. It seems like the majority like to pick the obscure lesser known bands who, may have had an influence yes, but weren't any where near as good. Okay so they came first fine. They didn't grow though. And it's not about "selling out" either. Because bands like chains, nirvana, garden, and jam, made classics that will stick with generations years to come.

  • The fact is, and this will piss some folks off, um, aaaalot! But the fact is Bands like Mudhoney just weren't as talented as bands like Nirvana, Pearl jam, Alice in Chains, and Sound Garden. Don't get me wrong I love mudhoney, but even Mark Arm would admit that mudhoney was waaay inferior than the four mentioned bands. Musically and lyrically they just weren't as talented. Did they suck? No, they fucken rocked! But they ultimately succeeded in what kurt really wanted, obscurity.

  • For all who say Mudhoney was around before Nirvana: Mudhoney was formed in 1988 after the demise of Green River, Nirvana was formed 1987. True Mark Arm was doing his thing in Green river with Turner and Stone Gossar & Jeff Ament-both who went on to be in Pearl Jam, before Nirvana. That much is true. Is Mark Arm "acting" like Kurt Cobain, or is Mudhoney "acting" like Nirvana? I'd say no, simply because they existed almost the exact same time.

  • Vision Gator!!!!!!!!!!

  • : ) still not as famous as nirvana was ,.

  • @ThatHapppycaT Nirvana sucks

  • WB Nirvana!

  • I kinda feel sorry for the kids saying Mark is a wanna be Kurt. They obviously wernt around at the time and can only live it through these videos.

  • @Antifaith29 - yep, I was in college from 91 - 93... lived the experience. I find the comparisons to Kurt quite funny. They are who they are.

  • @Antifaith29 Yeah, I know, I like Nirvana and Kurt a lot, they're one of my favourite bands but Mark was around way before Nirvana, in Green River, plus if I'm not mistaken Mudhoney was even around before Nirvana was

  • @Antifaith29 Mudhoney was famous before Nirvana, weren't they?

  • @Antifaith29 All I see is Iggy ne way.

  • @Antifaith29 i'm sorry but Kurt was copying Mark....

  • @MetalKorg666 Well he wasnt coppying, thats just the way he was but Mark was around long before Kurt was. Did you even read what i said or are you just commenting out of ignorance?

  • Comment removed

  • @Antifaith29 sorry, i was drunk and i misinterpreted...sorry again

  • wanna be kurt , srry but ther was only one ..

  • @ThatHapppycaT You're an idiot. Mudhoney was doing the circuts long before nirvana " broke". Infact you cant look into that whole seattle explosion without mudhoney being mentioned. You just tried to piss take one of the old gaurd. You're ignorance is fucking pathetic.

  • @Antifaith29 well said :)

  • @Antifaith29 ahaha sumone got butt hurt , you can state your ancient historical facts all you want jus shows that you never had a life ,. heres sum advice get off his nuts he's not as famous as kurt cobain was and ever will be cus this guy sucks ..

  • @ThatHapppycaT Not butt hurt at all, kiddo. I actualy think your ignorance is fucking funny. Go listen to your top 40 pop , poser.

  • @ThatHapppycaT Infact, Kurt mentioned Mark as being one of his influences and friends.

  • @ThatHapppycaT - hahah. Both Kurdt and Mark would get a laugh out of your comment. Mark Arm was working at Sub Pop and touring with Mudhoney before Nirvana was even Nirvana. Nirvana borrowed Andrew Peters for a while and his drumming can be found on incesticide.

  • @ThatHapppycaT fuck you dude, hes not a wanna be kurt, you ignorant piece of shit

  • @BuddhaHaze420 hey fuck you back punk ..

  • @ThatHapppycaT If anything, Kurt's a wanna-be Mark.

Mark was around before Kurt formed any of his bands, let alone Nirvana.

  • @WeBackToRun c'mon you have to admit he looks and acts a fucking lot like him

  • @TheAcidX Come on man! Mark Arm has looked and act like that already in the 84! I would even say that part of Kurt's image was taken from Mark, Nirvana was the little brother amongst grunge bands. Oh, by the way, Mark was the first to use the term "Grunge"

  • I thought Kurt died...

  • @TheAcidX he is blond and has long hair? suddenly everyone blond is kurt?

  • Que Porra iluminate detect 2:10

  • 2:07 illuminati shit

  • grunge origins yeah great cult band but only of worship

  • kerry king solo xD

  • the first grunge band was Black sabbath

  • @guilhermecarneiro1 The first grunge band was Mudhoney or Green River and Mark Arm (the lead singer) came up with the word Grunge.

  • @TheDivNiv yeah, who the fuck cares.

  • @guilhermecarneiro1 that was like doom metal not grunge ...

  • @ComfortWipe32 yeah lol... Mark

  • @fakeyeful I'm seeing them for the first time tonight. fucking excited.

  • first grunge? The Beatles! ... fucking helter skelter is the shit!

  • everyone should just stfu and listen to the music most of you have no idea what the fuck your talking about anyways lol =}

  • They're lookin' all Vision Gator with that background.

  • my theory is this is a response to come as you are, which was about mark arm. it sort of sounds similar, the guitar tones and tempo, just with mudhoney punk sound. nirvana's bleach has a bunch of songs on it that sound like superfuzz big muff, sort of to mock mudhoney. anyone agree or disagree?

  • Mudhoney are a garage punk band you morons!! Like Sonics, Chocolate Watchband, 13th Floor Elevators...

    Fuck grunge!!!

  • Very fuuuckiing Good!!!!!

    @GrungeAddicted Follow? ;DD

  • this is perfect

  • this is no grunge, grunge didnt exist

  • @ivanna2001 You got that right, greedy recording labels called it "grunge" so they could cash in on it. Fuck'em

  • @Lamefunday Actually Mark Arm came up with the term

  • I saw them live in Leeds, England in 1995. They were AWESOME!!!

  • "Who are you? What do you want?" Stare at his eyes at this particular moment and answer if you dare!

  • i dont want and fucking pizza hut i just want some mudhoney

  • @musta123musta im a nirvana fan and if you know anything about kurt you would know that he listened to mudhoney and melvins(and listened to alot of music including really good rap and pop not just rock) and liked them and those bands greatly influenced nirvanas music... if you want proof look at nirvana interviews or documentarys especially "about a son" documentary

  • @musta123musta He loved Mudhoney fool

  • Can we listen to any 90's music without mentioning He Who Will Not Be Named ?

    Just wondering......

  • @jumpsuitjesus Nice! You could make everyone think about him without mentioning his name. How ironic is that!

  • I love seeing comments where people know what theyre talking about!!1

  • My neighbor is the lead singer :D I love living in Seattle

  • @SilverDancer531 me too

  • @SilverDancer531 seriously? you're neighbour is mark arm?

  • @FreakinKoolMedia YES!!!!!!!!!!!! He's awesome lol, his hairs not that long anymore though and he has glasses... He's nice. We say hello when he's cleaning his roof and Im sitting on mine

  • @SilverDancer531 Can i come over for a holiday? (lol)

    I love this band!

  • @SilverDancer531

So is Mark Arm cool to live next door to? For some reason I can't see him mowing his lawn on any sort of a regular schedule but maybe that's just me

  • @xThucydides He mows at a pretty normal time? lol, It's coool. I hear it when they all get together and play sometimes. That's the best part.

  • @SilverDancer531 That's pretty excellent. I'd give my right Arm to hear Green River live

  • @SilverDancer531 i lived in seattle for a year but i was only 3

  • @SilverDancer531 you're one lucky guy

  • @SilverDancer531 Is that why you call him the" lead singer " instead of using his real name, Mark Arm? Or better yet, is that why you claim you live in Seattle but the area code you used in your name is from Omaha, Nebraska? Hmmmm. :D I love busting liars on youtube.

  • @mattyrich76 And I love when people are stupid... Kidding, of course. I hate it. It's not an area code I use in my name lol... If it were, it would be 206... 531, stands for may 31st. my birthday, seeing as it's MY youtube account. Yeah, I call him the lead singer, partially cause I don't talk to him that much and Mark doesn't advertise it. So, maybe instead of being an ass, you should talk to me first.

  • @SilverDancer531 Okay sounds sensible. My mistake, I apologize.

  • This song just kicks so much ass..same with Thirteenth Floor Opening which I can't seem to find on here..

  • Does it really matter? Its all just great music right? Why not just appreciate it? I love Nirvana and Mudhoney. Just listen to the music...

  • let it be known that Kurt Cobain invented every chord that he used for his songs, anyone else is an imitator. they all want to BE nirvana......seriously, get over yourselves

  • @TheNirvanafan1 no, he used mostly power chords

  • @TheNirvanafan1 they came before NIRVANA............

  • @RyanBreslin sarcasm.....i know mudhoney came before nirvana, they were part of the bands inspiration, along with the melvins, the pixies and the bealtes

  • @TheNirvanafan1 dont forget black sabbath and celtic frost both metal.

  • @TheNirvanafan1 haha sorry mate i thought u were having a go at them

  • @kismico122 Oh yeah! Man, Mudhoney must be a bunch of reptilian aliens!!!

  • You idiot!! (the first comment) ..NIRVANA copied Melvins, Mudhoney, Soundgarden and pretty much every other "grunge" band that was around at that time. Melvins started Nirvana..same with Mudhoney. They all used to jam together at one time and they are all friends but Nirvana came a little later..after Mudhoney and Melvins were already going solid on the west coast. You must not be from the West, no? Look at the dates on your cd's yo.

  • Best guitar solo of all time. Is that a Jackson or an ESP Floyd Rose

  • grunge generation!

  • Cualquier parecido con Kurt Cobain es mera coinsidencia chavos no todo el G R U N G E es nirvana....

  • Not only did Mudhoney/Mark Arm influence Nirvana's sound, I'm wondering if maybe Kurt borrowed Mark Arm's look.

  • the closest this sounds to nirvana is the song love buzz witch was a shocking blue song so no this doesn't sound like nirvana but shocking blue with that riff

  • I'm a hardcore Nirvana fan and i have seen Mudhoney live a couple of times. How can people say that Mudhoney ripped from Nirvana? This particular song may have only about 10% similarity with any Nirvana song. Both bands were influenced from each other but especially Nirvana, since Mudhoney were around some years before Nirvana. KNOW YOUR FACTS PEOPLE, before you post any shit you think on youtube!

  • this fucking riff goes round my mind and is really driving me crazy

  • Why in every video of a band that influenced Nirvana do I see post upon post about Nirvana? This isn't Nirvana, so shut the fuck up and enjoy the music!

  • We have to bring the 90's music back!

    Support all the new grunge/alternative/rockbands!

Check this band i found the other day!

    youtube.com/watch?v=pwsDJsv8n8I&feature=channel_video_title

  • hahaha people are so ignorant this doesn't even sound close to nirvana!!!!! both great bands though!

  • doesn't sound like nirvana at all so stop saying it

  • Comment removed

  • @snooze06 - I'm aware. Green River was pretty influential on Nirvana.

  • i like that the guitar and bass the same models that nirvana use later

  • Brittany Spears hooked up with Kurt Cobain and she co-wrote some of Nirvana's best songs.

  • Mudhoney kick fucking ass!

  • Pure grunge.That's music.

  • Only 1 stupid asshole

  • TEMASOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • isnt mark arm the singer, been a long time sinse i listend to this band

  • haha i love it how in the begining the drummers hair is down n all crazy then like half way thur it magicly is put up in a ponytail hahaha.

  • PUNK ROCK.

  • Eddie Vedder said when he waas here in brazil last time, that Mudhoney are the tre founders of Grunge.I can't go against what Eddie Vedder says, since i'm not Scott Stapp.

  • @KingNurk Mudhoney are the founders of grunge

Mark Arm even came up with the word

  • backdrop reminded me of the video to 'i will follow.' the realization that i am a human who listens to both u2 and mudhoney followed shortly by crippling my intestines.

  • Classic song, introduced me to them...

  • mudhoney was around before Nirvana. Plus Kurt was in the melvins for a while, and collaborated with these guys!!! Jeez plus they come from the same area where they share influences and mixes. geez

  • @lithum2010 - no, Nirvana was together for about a year before Mudhoney formed. they starting playing under the name Nirvana around the time Mudhoney got started in early 1988.

And Kurt was never in the Melvins, he was just their friend/roadie. He did audition to be the bass after Matt left, but they never let him in cause he sucked.

They are are both from the same state and do have a lot of the same influences though, you're right about that. The bands were actually became pretty good friends

  • god i love the days of true music not all this crap now the 90s had the best music nirvana, mudhoney, and pearl jam

  • @mrkurtcobain91 oh my god are you the one that i have been serching for?the one that thinks the same about music??... you are!!! the music god put us both on earth to meet and change the world from techno shit to grunge and punk were music was the good stuff. i thank the gods for you.

  • OMG Mudhoney ripped off Nirvana, how could they? lol

  • ..... AWESOME!!!!!

  • We know who thumbed this down. I heard The Beatles also played grandpa guitars like in Metalocalypse and they killed that Lake Troll. Also I heard Jimmy Paige floated down on a cloud and originally he was playing a harp through distortion but he dropped it cause he wanted to travel with a sitar player and a sitar. Go hug a tree @william, All music comes from somewhere.

  • @xXxhXcRockerxXx Amen to that.(:

  • 2:08 what does the illuminaty sign do there?

  • is this the band that played on Blacksheep?

  • @TRKTKO yea it is ha

  • are those the same guitars that kurt had in teen spiret? looks like it

  • @tylerdude1995 - same type, yes.

  • BECHOVA..THE NEW NIRVANA OF.BRAZIL,CHECKIN IN YOUTUBE,,GRUNGE IS BACK..FUN FUN FUN.

  • I DIDNT KNOW THERE WAS A GRUNGE SUPERGROUP CALLED MUDHONEY?

    Kurt Cobain - Vocals

    Matt Stone - Guitar

    Corey Taylor - Drums

    Buzz Osborne - Bass

  • @paro320 it"s Mark Arm and not Kurt

  • @gabrirmachado dude it was a joke, they all lookalike, matt stone is the creator of south park, corey taylor is the singer from slipknot/stone sour and buzz osborne is the singer from the melvins lol...

  • @paro320 corey taylor singer from slipknot......what the hell

  • I didn't know Matt Stone played guitar in Mudhoney lol.

  • THE GREAT ONE NOTE SOLO!!!!

  • mustangs at dawn!

  • I love this band!!! I saw them on 2005 3 times! when they opened for Pearl Jam here In Mexico, It was amazing!!!

  • I think people forget grunge was more than Nirvana. Grunge was all of this. Todays world had just ripped and twisted the stories of our past. Peal Jam, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, ect, ect, all of this bands are the possible of grunge. No one copied from each other, no one had to cause all of these bands had amazing talent and didn't need to. This just goes to show that society today is no longer creative and all creations are created for you.

  • @Nexus1013 and the bad thing is, Nirvana wasn't even the best grunge band. they weren't bad, but they were no Green River or anything.

  • Yeeaahh.. MUDHONEY Rules!!!
