  • Taxing is more with Obama, but if we tax our "high earners" where are they going to go? Not here. We already have that trouble with large companies.

  • I freaking love Obama. People are always saying that he doesn't give facts, but apparently they are only concerned with what is played on T.v.

I would have liked to have seen the entire video too. I don't know why someone would have chopped it up.

    OBAMA '08

  • obama is an empty suit. he did nothing in illinois as a senator and nothing as a US Senator. he is all hype. obama also lies and plays both sides of an issue. he's a fake and a con artist and will be exposed right after the convention - spread the word!

  • Come on man! Lets tax the hell out of our working class! Put a HUGE 20% VAT on EVERYTHING! If you don't know what that is you are not a true socialist! Not that a flat tax is a bad idea as a whole, though. But...it's really what you DO with that money is what is of concern. The German answer is pay people to have children because they are running low on workers yet they keep paying the Turks to move in and sponge off of them. Whats next? We pay Mexicans to stay? Reperations to blacks?

  • I am 18, and I am going to be a fresh voter this year. I am still somewhat pondering who to vote for. I personally don't think we have a very good choice, whoever wins the election...Dems or Reps, it isn't going to happen overnight...this will take years, possibly 10s of years to pull out of. All I know is, though, if we get another Conservative in office...the world will no longer support the U.S. I hope all turns out good for this country, I am not trying to take sides, though.

  • War Hero?

John McCain was dumb enough to be CAPTURED by enemy soldiers. How is that heroic? The 1st thing you learn (101) is not to be captured by the enemy! He failed.

How's that for "War Strategy Expertise"?

"Hey troops listen to me, I got captured!"

Further, if this MAD DWARF is such a "Hero", how come Vietnam Veterans are ALL AGAINST HIM?

Veterans are voting for Barack Obama.

  • In human history, very few times and very few people rise up from no where to represent and make difference to the well being of common man.

In a world hungry for a CHANGE, Obama defies all odds, discrediting the corrupt career professional politicians & the profiteers of the military industrial complex, while proving to the ordinary man that there's a better alternatives to fear, war, death and destruction.

Any wonder the man is being received as a new Messiah, every where in the world.

  • Obama answer this question!! If you were to die in an automobile accident tonight and you then seen Jesus and He asked you "why should I allow you into the Kingdom of heaven? what would you say???

  • Can any of you Obama lovers name one major achievement of his since he's beein in public office???? One bill he has helped pass? Any foreign affairs experience other than flying overseas last week pretending he knew something. Come on....name 1 thing!

  • People always argue that he's inexperienced!Well than I say that Experienced must equal FAIL lol.because people with experience seem to do horrible for regular Joe and Jane doe of America.

  • I'd really like to see this whole meeting, if it was taped.

  • Plz put the actual video online, it is priceless gem that will help us ordinary folks with investments plzzz plzz

  • It's amazing how Clinton left office with the biggest surplus...in US history at approx 262 billion. While Bush is leaving office with the biggest deficit in US history at approx 462 billion. That means despite Clinton spotting Bush 262 billion.....Bush still overspent his budget by a phenomenal degree. . Obama seems to be for the middle class and poor American. think about it

  • Thank you, Sen Obama for dealing with the economy. I really hope your think-tank can come up with some solutions.

  • I dont want to set any Obama supporters off, so no need for a bunch or replies (which I know I'll get)...Obama worries me because I think he is smarter than everyone that follows him. His terms like, "economic justice","common good", and "INVESTING in xyz"...many people think that sounds great. But they dont hear "redistribution of wealth", "communism", and "higher taxes". Look, He's good and I applaud his true TALENT. He is a genius. But, I hate his policies...cmon America

  • Obama is a great leader, he has surrounded himself with the best and the brightest both with forigen relation and the economy, not the sneaky underhanded partisan politics bullshit, and fear mongering, but people that can help him lead this country out of this economic mess and bring us back to a leadership role in the world, how nice to have him warmly recieved by Europe and the middle east, rather than belted with tomatos and hated by protesters. Please vote with your head, think, be open.

  • President Obama is the man! Save our Planet. Go veg. Be green.

  • Professor Cass Sunstein, one of the leading legal scholars in the US, teaching at University of Chicago, a conservative institution, says Obama was the MOST COMPETENT senator the day he was elected.

  • What was that based on? just curious.

  • Then Prof Sunstein (obviously a liberal) should be fired. I wouldn't want him teaching my kid. And since when is the University of Chicago a conservative institution?!? What a joke!

  • Not only does he have clear statements for short-term releif and for long-term, but he organized a well group of economic advisors from both parties to enhance the policies he presented to them. Thats what a president should do, and that is why Obama is the clear choice for all of us..

    Obama '08

  • OBAMA 2008 OH HELL YEAH

  • Pick Biden, Senator Obama!

  • I agree! Him or Wesley Clark.

  • We need long term plans to lower prices and encourage fundamental shifts in the economy, but more government is not the answer. The government can cut taxes and regulations, but anything else comes with grave risks.

  • Bravo!

  • We need to put americans to work in these fields to lower unemployment and stimulate economic growth! it worked for post WWII, and it can work again!!!

  • Put America back on the Gold Dollar standard (backing up our economy with gold), put higher tarriffs on foreign auto makers (encouraging American cars), lower taxes, and PUT AMERICANS TO WORK!!! We need the government to fund to REBUILD AMERICA, like free way reconstruction, energy and water technichians, building a MUCH better public service system (buses, subways, etc...), and other public works.

  • Gold Standard? Dude this isn't the 1800's...money isn't based on an arbitrary thing you find in the river like it used to be.

  • Dude, you think a fiat system leading to the ZimDollar value is the wave of the future? Get a grip on the economic issues and on history.

A commodity based standard is the way to go for the future.

  • Very true, though it is a shame that money isn't backed by something. Economies tend to be more stable when people know that something of real value, with a finite quantity is backing the money used. Today backing our money with gold is impossible since our economy is bigger then the supply of gold, but like I said . . . still a shame.

  • He covered all bases... clear and precise. I can't wait to see the outcome of this meetings.

  • If you don't vote for this man..... you will be the only one to blame when this economy collapses. An economic situation like this, where every CEO in the US is taxed at a lower rate than his secretary is disastrous. Think about that.... not one CEO in all of America can say they pay a higher % of the annual Gross income than their secretaries. Something is wrong with this picture... and this wasn't the America I've come know. We desperately need "Change" and "Hope" and OBAMA IS THE ONLY CHOICE!

  • I am a CEO. I pay more tax than my PA. Both in % and actual $.

The economy collapsing would be a change from what we have now. BHO wants change. Does he want economic collapse as part of his change? Raising taxes would help get us there.

  • Dancerdog3: your rhetoric is not helpful and your innuendo (using Barack's middle initial) is irresponsible. You may be a CEO, but I am a Ph.D. economist, and this administration is not only the singularly worst by a poll of university historians, but it is almost the worst economic administration in history. Obama can only improve us.

  • I agree with you 100% Acchilles1987! I personally find his use of Sen. Obama's middle name to be offensive and disparaging. HIS taxes will be raised because he's a CEO making more money than God, but as Obama's detailed plans show, he will provide tax relief to the middle class....the people who are the heart of the American capitalist system and the American dream which this country thrives on. It's sad to think people like dancerdog are allowed to participate in the democratic process. =/

  • u r 21 years old, u got a PHD? u r an economist as well?

  • Your response was to Dancerdog3 was on target. Way to GO!!

  • well said my freind!!!!

  • Of course you're going to pay more of a percentage and actual money in taxes than your PA! As a CEO, and please feel free to correct me if my assumption's wrong, you make more than $250k a year and thus you fall in the top 1% of the country that SHOULD be not only willing but be obliged to take a larger share of the debt that your business-friendly Pres. Bush brought. The middle class makes up 95% of the country and it will no longer exist if you don't assume more responsibility.

  • dancerdog3, I really doubt you're a CEO... regardless, if you make $100,000 and pay 40% taxes you pay $40,000, but you bring home $60,000 after taxes.

If someone else makes $70,000 and pays 30% that's $21,000 in taxes, but you bring home only $49,000.

    60k > 49k

It's called a progressive tax that helps people who earn less. The people suffering now are middle and lower class families. Tax cuts for the rich will not help the economic situation that we are in right now.

  • True in some ways, and less true in others. If the rich have more money, and reinvest into the economy and provide jobs, it would help. This is a situation that can go another way though. Today more people invest in foreign markets, and it doesn't really help at home. Double door, though I think cutting taxes on all levels, and getting rid of un-needed government programs helps all around. Look at Louisiana with Jindal.

  • Tax increase for the rich will discourage the the talented and the smart citizens from staying the U.S. though. In the long-run, you're gonna suffer brain and talent drain and ultimately job-drainage as people find better alternative places to live in.

Depends on which perspective you look at dude, it's the rich that gives you your job... so good job trying to chase them away.

  • Good point

  • no dumbass, this isnt a democracy game. Nobody is gonna leave the US because all in all even with the economy drain we are still #1 and i highly doubt just because of prices people are going to go to Japan or Europe.

  • I think it is the rich that give us our jobs and its because of the mass of the rich that keeps us in those jobs unable to better ourselves...

  • You get out there and work hard and become wealthy, not sit around and collect handouts. Democrats are going to get in power and we're going to end up like other European countries, oppressed and taxed beyond belief. You thought gas was high? hahahaha, just wait.

  • You're a CEO? Then get off this video.

  • Right on!

  • Then you should LOWER your PA's wages.

  • Were have you been, up a tree?

Unemployment is up, housing foreclosures are the highest since the Great Depression people who have full time jobs are being cut back to part time hours so that business can drop benefit and not have to pay unemployment payments. Prices on food and electric bills are climbing out of reach for the poor.

When will you admit that the collapse began , now or after he gets elected? Raise taxes on who, yea, anyone making over 250,000 a year.

    Read "The Grapes of Wrath"

  • Can you please post Barack's exchange with the economists? Thanks!

  • We need to get back to saving and producing as a country... stimulus packages and saving banks just makes the situation worse... we need to just stop using credit from these banks!

  • This man is better believe me, no wander they can't criticize on his life background achievements. The fact is Obama his more educated than Mccain. I just saw some of his profile record, truly brilliant and clean

that's why is intelligent his got so much brain just like his father when he was at Harvard university.

  • One thing of note. If McBush wins, all those crooks in office with Bush for the past 8 years will just continue to commit crimes against US and get away with it.

  • He looks exhausted! Keeping pushing OBAMA we will carry you home:)

  • Anyone that does not vote for this man deserves more of the same

  • AMEN!

  • There are few economic accidents these days. The federal government has the ability to buffer and redirect forces that cause economic suffering. Obama seems to be up to the task. Economic policy is not partisan politics.

  • He's READING a script! Watch him.

  • And the problem with that is???? Maybe he wrote it down...I don't know he's only been around the world in the past few months...wow--if that's the worse you can come up with him, he's doing a DAMN good job!

  • Of course he's reading from his speech. It's called being prepared and knowing what you're going to say before you go into a meeting. Most speeches are written in advance. There's a difference between speech-writing and reading a script. This isnt acting its governance.

  • It's not unusual for someone giving a speech to use notes.

  • man he looks tired, I know he said he was taking a week off in August, hopefully he can recharge.

  • Finally! Someone is actually addressing our economic woos. Thank you, Barack.

  • Can't take another 4 years of the same Can't take Bush, reincarnated as McCain The way he did New Orleans really was ashame I believe in Obama, I'm ready for change" CHORUS: The last time I looked at my clock It was Obama time. OBAMA The Republicans are in for a shock Cause its Obama time. OBAMA
  • I think that Obama will help both the USA and other countries.

  • I'm sure he will make an excellent president OBAMA 08!!!

  • go obama please save our economy and get some rest...

  • I am 22 and still a member of the republican party. However I have never voted for a republican in any national or local election. The republican party has lost their ideals. I supported Mccain when he was a moderate, but not as a neo-con. I like the realist-moderate stance of Obama, similar to Clinton. Obama has the potential just as Bill did to fix the deficit & economy and wage successful wars through unilateral action. I will not change parties, but rather vote for the best camp.OBAMA 08!

  • Notice the complete absence of any mention of McCain. Obama is doing his homework. Grandpa is drifting off into obscurity. McCain is not going to know what hit him.

  • What the hell was that? I know what's wrong, and even why it is, let's hear the panel's ideas about fixing it!

  • i'm not american and i can understand just a bit but he is MUCH BETTER then bush

!so ya if i could vote i wil vote for obama!ç

  • I Live In The UK.

From What I Have Seen Obama Is Prepared He Is Confident,He Knowns What He Is Doing. He Is Willing To Represent America In A Fantastic Way.

He Is Giving Ideas Out Now,He Has Got Far Better Ones In His Mind.Thats Why If He Wins America Will Be The Place To Live,And When I'm Older I'm Going To Move To The US.

    Go Obama :)

  • I wish i can vote for him :( I'm only 14 ,but i would vote for obama. OBAMA 08!~

  • He will be a great president, OBAMA 08!

  • Obama looks more and more Presidential with each video he puts out and and with each photo he takes, whereas John Mccain just looks like your average joe.

  • Sounds to me like this man is Presidential material.

  • I am for Obama! I am a conservative

  • obama!!!

  • The U.S. cannot economically withstand another 8 years of Bush economic policies and I am confident that McCain would continue Bush's economic policies and nothing would get better. If Obama gets elected our country will at least have a chance at improving economically and America's image is bound to improve and with what Obama is proposing the situation in Afghanistan will improve and the U.S. will be able to work at extracting itself from the mess created by Iraq. I plan to vote for Obama.

  • Guys, post the whole video, not just the opening statement clip. It's true that Obama has a pretty face, but we want to see the actual interaction with the advisers, not just the written speech.

    Please, and thank you.

  • I like how he said that this wasn't a part of the "normal business cycle" that is a correct statement.

  • BETTER DAYS 2 COME .

  • Barak all the way.

  • welcome Mr president cant wait for january...but i m still going to work hard for november

  • BARACK OBAMA '08.

  • Obama O8 the next President of the United states

  • THE MAN

  • I'm a former Republican. I'm also 23. I voted one time, I'm sorry to say, for Bush. This time, I'm voting for Obama. I have come to realize that it's people like him who will help turn this country around both economically and internationally. Vote for Barack Obama if you want something better than 4 more years of vetoes. That's my opinion anyway.

  • I hear u felix thats the right thing 2 do

  • glad to have you....

what made you vote for bush in 04?

for me, I was convinced that dems could not protect us as well as the GOP could. Now I know that isnt true.

  • God bless people like you

  • I share the same story. Was a Republican for many elections.

  • Thanks man for voting for Obama... Shame man for voting for bush...lol Thanks

  • The dream of MLK will soon come true, yeah!!!!!

  • amen mtumishi-

  • Mtumishi, as much as I wish that was true and as much I know that Obama will be a great president, I'm afraid to say that him becoming president isn't enough for MLK's dream to become reality. We, the human race still have LONG way to go. The world is still filled with alot of hate and no one person can change that. However, I will say that it's a step in the right direction if he wins the election.

  • Where's the economic advisors? Every news media outlet does this too... they show the opening statements but not the whole "MEETING WITH ECONOMIC ADVISERS" - This video needs to be called "Opening statements to economic advisers" I want to hear the substance of discussion, not the statements I hear from every stump speech.

  • I'm a huge Obama supporter myself, but I completely agree with you that is problamatic.

  • the reason i believe they don't post de whole video online now might be a strategy. If not McBush camp might nick some of their strtegy.Maybe , you can try cspan it might be posted there anyway.

  • If they did, it will probarly be hours long. But he should post the whole thing and break it down in ten minute intervals.

  • I agree 100% i wish there was the complete discussion in this video. But then again it would be about 1 hour long so maybe just the highlites of the discussion would be nice.

  • Too True. He was saying things that everyone can agree to, but nothing that allows voters to truly understand the pros and cons of his policy.

  • watch cspan, not youtube

  • agreed...... i want to hear the entire discussion. this doesnt help us.

its funny..... things are so bad with bush that I am actually impressed with a candidate that doesnt sound like a retarded quart of dog shit.

Just the fact that a candidate can make his case without cracking a joke or misspeaking is impressive to me.

what a sad state of affairs this country is in.

  • Do you not watch television? They showed this on many different news channels..MSNBC. However, I'm sure you can find the full segment if you give it half a try.

  • I agree. Also, when the forum is open for questions, they never show the questions or answers. McCain almost always has a question and answer part. That makes Obama look like he is afraid of questions from reporters or the public. He has also tried to back out of the "town hall" format for the debates. This disturbs me a little. As a concerned voter, I would like to know why.

  • McCain doesn't answer questions he doesn't like, so its a wash. I've seen him spin difficult questions and launch right into talking points with no connection to the question, repeatedly.

The "they" that "should post the whole thing" is some guy doing this for free. I guess the person made the judgement that this was the part that was important to him.

Warren Buffet being on this panel gives me a lot of optimism, because he's old, rich, and socially responsible.

  • Brilliant!

  • Obama is real. What he stands for his solid, and I believe in him.

  • Come on! I'm a huge fan of Obama and I'm voting for him 100% and doing everything I can to put him in the White House BUT PLEASE post the whole video at least instead of just his opening statement. This happened with the governors conference too. Let us see Obama in action and actually running a meeting. I want to hear how he interacts with the guests. We don't need just the opening statement which is pretty much his stump speech.

  • I concur

  • I concur. I have always wondered about that. The governors conference was one I definitely wanted to see in its entirety. Obama/Sebelius 2008/2012!!

  • yes he definatly tipped his hand to a Sebelius V.P with the statement that he's lookin for someone that would best help him Govern not win a state, and then having a video concurently pops up when he makes that statement with Sebelius dominating all of the issues at the women goveners forum. Obama/Sebelius 08&12

  • I absolutely agree.

  • the meeting was probably very long. who's going to watch the whole thing? besides, I want here Obama's philosophy on economic policy, his specific programs, not a few uninspired eggheads blather on.

  • Go Barack '08!

  • Back to business! Yeeeaaah boy!

  • VOTE FOR OBAMA!

    OBAMA FOR THE WIN!

  • Win for what?!?
