I was hoping I'll get to see how to make the papad dough and roll them out. That's the most difficult part. It's easy to go and buy them in the market. There is just too much salt in them.
mouth watering - even though its 1:30 am here, i'm going to make some now I think!
I think I will try try the grill to cook papad as I like the slight charring flavour but have no practice cooking gas, mines always break and end up slightly uncooked.
another thing thats gaining popularity in the west is khakhras which r like these crispy wheat things that r like papads and they taste great and u can also add this style of salsa/masala its great and u don't have to cook them.
Just place the papad on a microwave safe dish or paper napkin and cook for approx. 1 minute. There is no need to flip it. Since all microwaves are different, be sure you keep an eye on it in case it needs more or less time.
Why don't you deep fry the 'Papad' in Oil? It tastes much better (though more greasy/fat). Just a thought. We at home do both ways, but more by deep frying.
The word poppadom was used by Jade Goody as an ethnic slur while confronting Shilpa Shetty during the Celebrity Big Brother 2007 show. Goody called Shetty
OMG!!!
How much salt are you using?
papad has almost 75% of sodium.
You are adding salt and chat and papad already has the highest salt in it.
You are going to kill someone with having this kind of salt.

@ViciousAssasin
You have to use a splatter screen or similar mesh so the papad don't burn.

Yes, the papad can be fried in oil. It tastes very good. We are trying to offer healthy alternatives to un-healthy favorites.

Sure, carrots can be added. However, keep in mind that carrots are sweet and may sweeten this normally spicy and savoury dish.

Thanks for watching our videos and your feedback.
All our recipes always mention 'salt-to taste', pl. feel free to adjust the salt to your requirements.
