From 2004 to 2009 is how long the civilian casualties were recoreded to get that number. thats 36 people a day 365 days a year, also accounting for the leap year day. 66,000 is roughly the population of Gulfport Mississippi. So if you dragged everyone out of their homes in Gulfport and executed them in the streets, thats how many civilians died in iraq.

66.000 civilians may be the official number but if you consider that the majority of killed civilians got a "drop weapon" so he/she only appeares in the "insurgent" statistic, you can imagine that the unofficial deathcount (1 million++) is much closer to the reality.

A "drop weapon" is a weapon that is carried for the sole purpose of evidence. Basically so a solider may shoot a civilian, accidentally or whatever, then to avoid prosecution, they would plant said weapon on the murdered body, making it look like the civilian was armed
