Forget about safety record. I just seen a Benz hold it's ground while a Smart car just got bounced in to the next lane over, ready to get hit by the next big vehicle.

I like fuel efficient, but making things smaller just seems like the same extreme as just making things bigger. Neither way of doing things seems all that great, but I guess that’s the limit of technology right now. My vehicle is kind of in-between, not real big, not real small, okay gas mileage, but nothing to brag about. 4 dollar a gallon gas prices awhile back pretty much turned me off from bigger is better, but this tiny little thing doesn’t look like a solution.

@sincityskywalker First, no one even claimed the smart car was the safest car on the road, not even close. The fact remains that the tridion cell is extremely resistant to high forces. The only problem is that because of the very little crush zone on the smart car, the occupants feel a very high force even though the car doesn't crush that much. With your post, you sound like a stupid redneck who knows nothing about car crashes whatsoever. Search tridion cell before you make dumbfuck claims.

Get the facts before making negative comments about the smart fortwo's safety!

Run a report on the smart car at the NHTSA site for proof!

Read the letters at safeandsmart dotcom for proof!

Example- F150 doing 45mph T-bones a smart car. Truck is totaled, smart driver is severely BRUISED!

Example- smart car doing 65mph hits a truck head-on. She breaks her wrist and WALKS AWAY!

More proof- auto insurance rates are low for smart cars, DUE TO THEIR SAFETY RECORD!

nothing personal to for but f-150 is a bitch truck sorry so is any model of small truck. but smart cars r easy to recycle i have a ram 3500 v-10. chick cut me off and stoped nothing left of her or the car. my truck still has the stock crone bumpe it scratched the bottome and some scratches on my skid plates. so FUCK the smart car.!!!!

That Smart car went sailing! They would have to send out a search party to find you in that thing. I almost got one of those stuck under the tire of my Jeep last week - no way I would buy one of those.
