  • I arrived at GLRTC on August 31, 1961. Billet # 686

    Camp Berry....

    Assigned to company 461

Company Commander : Chief Danny G. Everett

Reported aboard USS Independence CVA 62

Norflok, VA on December 31, 1961

What a walk down memory lane.

  • In the old boot camp, the white hats were folded and be squared on top.

  • This is not old boot camp. We had no females. The baseball caps with "Navy" didn't exist. Recruits etc., etc.

  • Wow, the memories!

  • This is not OLD Boot Camp. The Old Boot Camp did not have training time outs, and all the other "touchie feely" bs we have now. Then we add females to the picture, such as some of the wide asses in this video, who can't even fit through an escape scuttle, and it just gets worse. The Navy is no longer a combatant force, it's a social experiment.

    Chief

  • To be a naval officer, a person's parent has to be a US citizen. The rule is studpid. A naval officer gets paid much higher than a naval recruit.

  • Gosh pure nostalgia... i went in august 17 2001 before all of this war broke out... our RDC's announced about the WTC attacks. I'll never forget the silence that morning.

  • @slunacourtier I was in 'A' School
