This was the first Deep Purple hit. I guess the most ppl don´t know.

Here in the beginning is Jon Lord´s influence very dominant. Later Richie became his strong song writer partner ( which was not bad !!).

This was Deep Purples 1st release in 1968 but this was line up 1. which had Rod Evans on Vocals & Nick Simper on Bass. These 2 were fired in 1970 when Ian Gillan was asked to join but he wouldn't unless his friend Roger Glover could join (hence Simper had to be fired to)as their previous band Episode Six had just folded.
