Simply the most beautiful weapons ever made, and in 3rd place above most modern guns on list of most effective/reliable weapons of all time (for more penetration, accuracy, range, reliability, and over all stopping power) I personally think the bow is the ultimate ranged weapon only outclassed because they gave up on advancing it for the easy route, still today its an amazing art, and if the world really goes crazy in 2012 would rather have one of these than a m16 anyday! btw what music in this?

well actually you can - i dont know were youre from but for example in my city the "center for history" offers a course to make one (i will do that in march :-P )

if you dont have a chance like that you can buy fitting wood in the internet. there are websites explaining the basic steps but probably you would have some failures before manage to get one good one

I was always curious to see what happens in this case (a bow under tension). Wonderful and scaring. I'd like to see the whole sequence to get an idea of where the pieces fly...the hat seems a good protection (helmet would be better...) from the rotating debris

i was lucky, and so were all the people around me, no body was struck by any of the flying bits.

i was actually quite chuffed that a friend of mine happened to be filming me in slow motion at the time.

i love the way you can see the hickory tear away at the beginning of the break.

in real time , it was just a loud bang, and i was left with the string and arrow in my right hand and half a bow in my left. lol
