@vBDKv that's what everybody thinks before they get one. truth is, with my modular i can barely close the lid on the cable mgmt side and have just as much spaghetti as my old one on the inside. yes, that's with the unused cables unattached. until they come out with wireless PSUs, i'm sticking to non-modular.
@vBDKv I don't see what the big deal is. I've have modular before and went back to standard because of cheaper cost. I can stuff the extra cables in the top of my case. Out of sight, out of mind.
@X6800 If your case allows you to stuff all the cables then by all means go for it. The thing with modular is convenience. And if you have a lower end case with not enough room it also helps to have less cables to avoid clutter and airflow restriction.
@ussoldiersm316 Yes. Is the current power supply you have an older one? Also if you do a search on google for PSU calculator you should find a few different calculators out there that will back me up.
@zzPirulito111zz It's possible but I wouldn't recommend going any lower than 750w for SLI'd 560Tis even if the PSU in question is one that's 80 Bronze from Corsair.
@zzPirulito111zz Dude if your getting that high of a setup I think you should fork up the $50 and get the 850w (also with sli you will need the 750w) just so you have a little wiggle room to upgrade in the future (also if you OC) and if you want my 2 cents I assume you havent built this setup yet but unless your crazy for Physx i would suggest going with crossfire 6950's cause from benches ive seen crossfire seems to pull more out of the slave card than SLI

@xmacain What the hell is wrong with you? The comments 3 under yours tells the answer to your question. Don't expect someone to just give answers if you are not even willing to turn your eyes downward.
@LatestGamesGameplays it pretty much means everything will fit and work together. for example, 99% of motherboards out there are either atx or microATX, which means that they will fit in any computer case that is ATX. the only time you see something that isnt ATX is like an xbox circuit board because it is specifically designed to fit inside of that particular xbox case.
@LatestGamesGameplays Advanced Technology eXtended, which is basically the "new" universal standard when building computers. It lets you look at a part you might want, like a case, motherboard, and PSU, and if it says ATX you'll know all three are compatible, with some minor exceptions.
@LatestGamesGameplays If it's an ATX style case you'll be able to, but a lot of dell cases I've seen make all their own crap and their own PSU's so it wouldn't be easy or practical.
Can't you talk about something important, like what the internal parts are, why don't you test them to see what their real stats are. You basically derped around with it talking about connectors and black paint, and what the box says. Tell us whats not written down do your job better
@xXTobbe1337Xx 850W will definately be enough for you, no worries. If you want reassurance check out this vid with a guy explaining why it's fine with 850W for a system similar to yours but with DUAL GTX580 graphics cards.
Bought it a week ago, great psu but neweggs video said it was modular. NOT!
I paid good money for it for the TX850, its great but the wires ..... i dont have a huge case so it looks horrible since i had to hang them out since they dont fit inside!
@lancsno1 Yeah, it has solid build quality and good performance. Also, it's Corsair, not some no-name brand so you're guaranteed to find help on the internet if something goes wrong.
But it isn't modular, meaning you're gonna have a lot of cables. Modular PSU's cost more, but they are often better too. Also, since this is your first build, connecting everything to the PSU becomes so much easier with modular ones. Corsair has the AX series, which I think is modular.
@TheAntman2006 Hi thnx for your reply, I bought the 850 verison today but it doesnt have 3 pin connectors. So i had to put some 3 pin to molex cables from zalman in my case. Strange enough..my old BeQuiet! 600W has 2- 3-pin connectors. Anyway this is a good powersup.
I ordered my TX650v2 today at noon so on Wednesday it should arrive. I have a Cooler Master RS-460-PCAR-J3 from Newegg which was in my case and it is a DOA. I RMA'd my first one which got fried and came back with an even worse problem (DOA) so I said screw this cheap thing and bought the best for a budget. My old PSU might not be compatible with just my motherboard so I'm keeping my 460watt PSU. This is my first build so once it works, I should be satisfied after my long wait since ordering my
@danman789 yes it will very easily but if i was you i would upgrade to the 850 watt because it will be quiter and it will make it easier to upgrade, also its only 20 bucks more so its a no brainer
Understand that the graphics card is the most intensive hardware component. For one card, 850 Watts is more than enough, for two, it's pushing it. You will probably still be able to run it though.
How many AMPs are on the 12+ volt rail? Also, is it a single rail or are there multiple ones? This is important. Amps indicate the flow of electricity. Watts are how much power is available. Picture it as a dam, Watts are the quantity of water, amps are the flow itself.
@danman789 You likely will be able to run two cards, as it's a very high quality PSU. I'd go for the 850 just to be safe, but I would not be surprised at all if you can run it well with the 750.
@CaptainP00face I have the nVidia geforce GTX 470 and that gfx card requires at least a 500 watt power supply so you should probably have 650+ and the 750 would be good for you just in case if you upgrade your graphics card or processor. For the fitting, you really just have to measure it.
Corsairs are pretty good in general I have 4 corsair psu's, but I just got screwed by them on 2 ends I bought my 2nd 650w & it was a doa & then they didn't give me my rebate!
I need to buy the 650w PSU only because my PSU does not provide me with any PCI-e 6 pin connectors. Ill need 2 PCI-e 6-pin connectors to power my new XFX 5870 which just arrived and cannot be used :( Also my PSU is on the top of my huge case, and the graphics card is on the bottom. I measured the lenght needed for the cables to be, and it is about 10-11 inches. Are the 2 6-pin connectors that long???
:)) i already searched 1 week for a power source on the web..it's enough!:)) I'll go with the "V2", and if it's a CWT inside...well, at least it's going to be a better CWT than the "V1":))
Ps:Those 5 year warranty will do the trick, no matter what's "inside"!:)
@caranddriverMing about the tx650 v1...first i wanted to buy that model too, and from what i have found on romanian forums the "CMPSU-650TX-C" it's CWT, and they sed it's a quality platform(CWT PSH II)! So if it's got that "C" it's a CWT, and the one without that "C" it's a Seasonic! I decided to go for the latest version- the "v2"(it's supposed to be better than the "v1"), it's 10$ more, and yes, loks like it's a Seasonic! Good luck with your purchase, all the best my friend!
Newegg, seem like a great company. I only wish they were here in the UK too. Make it happen Newegg, and make lots of UK based "techheads" happy, you know you want to lol
@MachineMezziah It's a personal choice. Anyone can build a rig anyway they want and it can still be considered enthusiast. What matters to them is most important.
@Martinx88813 Not every power supply is the same. Corsair does has some shit power supplies that you should avoid and then there's some high end ones that everyone should consider. Xfx tends to make all high end power supplies. Thermaltake, you have to be really careful with. Their toughpower series is good, everything else is terrible.
@Terry1212 I never said that. In fact, you didn't even bother to read what I wrote at all. Not only did you not read the entire message, you didn't even read the complete sentence of where you got that message. I'm not even going to tell you what I was referring to. You should go back and actually reread before making yourself look like a bigger idiot.
@Terry1212 Good, I'm glad you can see it. Now how about you try reading it. Or are your reading comprehension skills so poor that you need me to spell it out for you?
I think I got the wrong psu. I got the ax1200 that i'm going to use for my first build but I don't think i'll ever need that much power. I should've gotten the 850w and saved a $100.
@InfiniteRagnarok nothing is ever too much. in fact, getting a higher rating PSU can help provide some "future-proofness". so go ahead and get that 750W ;)
Can the 650w handle an i7 2600k and a windforce hd7950?

:)) i already searched 1 week for a power source on the web..it's enough!:)) I'll go with the "V2", and if it's a CWT inside...well, at least it's going to be a better CWT than the "V1":))
Ps:Those 5 year warranty will do the trick, no matter what's "inside"!:)

I intend to buy the TX650 V2!
....but can someone tell me if the OEM is Seasonic (like i hope it is) or CWT, cuz i don't know for sure!?
decebalusdacicus 11 months ago
@decebalusdacicus
i believe the 650 one is cwt
because it just look like the tx650 v1 CTW ver., which has a bigger fan than the seasonic one
also, you can see through the honeycomb grill, there is a "yellow stuff" that is very slim (CWT ver)
but the seasonic one has a bigger "yellow stuff"
check it out on newegg.com to see the tx650 v1 pictures compare to the video that was made by lin__techtips on youtube
caranddriverMing 11 months ago
@decebalusdacicus 140mm fan (cwt) 120mm fan (seasonic)
the seasonic one looks just like the hx650

@caranddriverMing thank you very much for replaying& for the info/tips, i appreciate it, God bless!
decebalusdacicus 11 months ago
@decebalusdacicus right now i am thinking should i buy the tx650 v1 or hx650
if i buy tx650 v1 i wish i am lucky enough to get the seasonic one, and the specs on corsair.com is the spec of seasonic's
caranddriverMing 11 months ago
@caranddriverMing about the tx650 v1...first i wanted to buy that model too, and from what i have found on romanian forums the "CMPSU-650TX-C" it's CWT, and they sed it's a quality platform(CWT PSH II)! So if it's got that "C" it's a CWT, and the one without that "C" it's a Seasonic! I decided to go for the latest version- the "v2"(it's supposed to be better than the "v1"), it's 10$ more, and yes, loks like it's a Seasonic! Good luck with your purchase, all the best my friend!
decebalusdacicus 11 months ago
@decebalusdacicus
well i think the V2 is oemed by CWT also, but you might need to check it out more before u purchase one =]

TekkSpekk 1 year ago
@TekkSpekk
no, the ax 850 is fully modular and 80 plus gold, the tx 850 is non modular and 80 plus bronze.
the ax 850 is better in every single way

Newegg, seem like a great company. I only wish they were here in the UK too. Make it happen Newegg, and make lots of UK based "techheads" happy, you know you want to lol

A non modular PSU is NOT an enthusiast PSU.
MachineMezziah 1 year ago
@MachineMezziah But all the cables will probably be used so will it matter?
gergy008 1 year ago
@MachineMezziah Most "enthusiasts" will probably use ALL the chords anyways :P that is ofc, if you are enthusiastic enough.
MrUnofficial 1 year ago
@MrUnofficial What a load of bs. Enthusiast doesn't mean having your case stuffed with harddrives and 3-way sli.
hlsghost 1 year ago
@MachineMezziah It's a personal choice. Anyone can build a rig anyway they want and it can still be considered enthusiast. What matters to them is most important.

Is Corsair better then XFX PSU or Thermaltake PSU & if not are they as good as them???
Martinx88813 1 year ago
@Martinx88813 Not every power supply is the same. Corsair does has some shit power supplies that you should avoid and then there's some high end ones that everyone should consider. Xfx tends to make all high end power supplies. Thermaltake, you have to be really careful with. Their toughpower series is good, everything else is terrible.

@toktokk666 Thanks for the tip!!!!!!
Martinx88813 1 year ago
@toktokk666 No. I have an Antec TP-750 and I like it a lot. Antec is a good brand.
Terry1212 1 year ago
@Terry1212 Uh... What? I never said anything about antec's TP-750 or anything related to antec.
toktokk666 1 year ago
@toktokk666 You said everything else is terrible. Antec is not terrible.
Terry1212 1 year ago
@Terry1212 I never said that. In fact, you didn't even bother to read what I wrote at all. Not only did you not read the entire message, you didn't even read the complete sentence of where you got that message. I'm not even going to tell you what I was referring to. You should go back and actually reread before making yourself look like a bigger idiot.

@toktokk666 Your comment is right there for everyone to see. Look back through your posts on this video. It's right there.
Terry1212 1 year ago
@Terry1212 Good, I'm glad you can see it. Now how about you try reading it. Or are your reading comprehension skills so poor that you need me to spell it out for you?
toktokk666 1 year ago
@toktokk666 No, that's okay. I already read it.
Terry1212 1 year ago
@Terry1212 And?
toktokk666 1 year ago
@Terry1212 He means all Thermaltake PSUs other than the Toughpower series are terrible. *facepalm

I think I got the wrong psu. I got the ax1200 that i'm going to use for my first build but I don't think i'll ever need that much power. I should've gotten the 850w and saved a $100.
VisibleByLight 1 year ago
Is 750W too much for a single gpu such as a gtx 570?
InfiniteRagnarok 1 year ago
@InfiniteRagnarok nothing is ever too much. in fact, getting a higher rating PSU can help provide some "future-proofness". so go ahead and get that 750W ;)
lpjz290 1 year ago
@InfiniteRagnarok
personally, I'd go for the 850 watt
just in case you decide to go crazy and throw another 570 Sli, heck an 850 can power Sli GTX580

Hoping to get the 650W sometime this week. They look fantastic for the price.
