Bush claims god talks to him. It has been normal under Bush for total incompetence to be rewarded if people have conservative christian connections. Remember the Monica Goodling debacle, and the revelation that over 150 other graduates of Regent Univ Law are employed by Bush? My too-vague point was that it would be consistent to find a religious connection to account for their favored treatment, especially given what has already come to light about the religious infiltration of the Pentagon.
