Buddhism is a religion as is Christianity and yes there are religious people in China. What I am saying is a very simple truth....China is ruled by the CCP, everything from a government is controlled or at the very least monitored by the CCP. At the end of the day the CCP is China- the state rules China and that trumps anything religious. Religious persecution is a known fact- don't play dumb.

Truly educated people are wise, and they care not for ethnicities when making friends, but rather pay attention to character. I'm Pakistani, and I am honest when I say some of my best friends are Chinese, Indian, and Pakistani. I am learning mandarin with proper phonetics and going to China this summer. I'm also learning a bit of Cantonese and a tiny bit of Shanghainese. All countries win.
