  • @Hutzjohn That's a leap.

  • wow, this girl's got groove maan,

  • She gives me fever

    Please----no antidotes---

  • Oh Boy !!!!! Look what EVA did with this song She picked it up gave it a good shake and then released it as if it had been in captivity

  • @kernow234 Sorry didn't mean to vote your comment down. Was actually trying to do the opposite! :)

  • @kernow234 Yes, and ruined it in the process. I'm being mean, the version is ok but still far from the original - it's subjective of course.

  • fan fuckin tastic

  • Why why, please tell me why this QUEEN OF MUSIC had to leave that soon? I don't understand, i just don't.. eva cassidy, you brought magic, and when you left, you took it away... All that's left is that. Thank you for not taking it from us...

  • YES! finally someone singing fever with feeling... ideal, amazing! so hard to find someone singing this song the way I want it... Eva I love you <3

  • Outstanding Vocals.. What an inspiration. Blows my mind, what a blessing

  • They should have called her fever cassidy... *trollface

  • I remember when Peggy Lee had this as a hit.

It was good butt, awwwwwwww, this woman should still be here.

    She was wonderful.

  • WOT ADVERT IS DIS FROM?????????????????

  • She was a ultra talent!! Thanking God for letting us expirience her voice!!

  • OMG...I had never heard of her and listening to this AWESOME DIVA sing brings tears to my eyes! If I hadn't seen her pictures...you couldn't have told me she wasn't black. oMG--Her voice is INCREDIBLE!! Nobody I've heard yet has done this song justice on the same level as Peggy Lee until Eva got a hold of it and OWNED IT! That's what you call PROFESSIONAL TALENT! SHE RIPPED IT UP! YOU GO GURL! RIP GREAT LADY--your voice is truly beautiful and is missed. Thank you for blessing us with this!

  • Holy Jesus. That voice!

  • Wow! On a whole different level this Lady.....Absolutely born to sing

  • She deserved so much fame when she was alive. RIP Eva Cassidy. You made the world a slightly more musical place. ♥

  • If fever feels like this, I don't mind having it every week

  • This is the best rendition of "Fever" I've ever heard! ♥♥

  • I just Love her voice, she inspires me to jam sweeetly on my acoustic guitar taking "a shitt day" away.

  • Superb, this is what im talking about, its sensual and not vulgar.

  • Superb, this is what im talking about, its sensual and not vulgar.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW! She was incredibleeeeeeee!!!!!!

  • Where can I find a picture in 00:36 ?

  • OMG her voiceee!!

  • Absolutely brilliant. Eva you are missed & loved. RIP.

  • I stood up- clapped my hands, whistled, flicked my BIC ,and held it up!! Yelling "MORE!","MORE!"....(Oh, don't worry, the kids already think I'm...never mind...)---- Well done! Terrific voice. Nice video...Encore! Encore!

  • Think waht this song could have been as a duet between Eva and Elvis...

  • I prefer Peggy Lee's version myself, but this isn't too bad.

  • 0:52- Ooo tingles! Eva doesn't need to be prancing about half naked to make this song sexy- she's just got it. Eat your heart out Kylie & Beyonce!

  • wow! chills. great version

  • what a voice!

  • wow, can't stop listening to this song - eva's version gives me goosebumps. I just close my eyes and let her vocal power amaze me..She would be an absolute superstar if she was alive today - no doubt about it

  • because I don't share your opinions....doens't allow some of you to be disrespectfull to me. I repeat. I don't like tgis version, and It's my right to...I just express an opinion, so to those who call me "crazy" or "idiot" are not very funny, please take a look at your own door, "vous manquez de la plus élémentaire des politesse" You're missing the politness..topic close. And I still don't like this version and I have the right to think so. Uncle Quinn, perhaps are you the perfection!

  • @MichCine1 It is your right to not like this version just like it is the right for millions of people to enjoy the singing of Lady Gaga and just like it is my right to say some people have absolutely no taste for extraordinary singing whatsoever. Perhaps you fall in the category of those fans who enjoy the singing of Lady Gaga since it is apparent that you have no taste for music at all.

  • that word fevaaaaah!! What a joy to listen to. Such power and control and perfect pitch in that one note is so sublime. How can anyone be so technically perfect and maintain that perfection in everything she sings? Eva you are a dream to listen to. Wish she was still with us and lapping up the fame & admiration she so deserves. RIP Eva. Long may your voice live on

  • Fantastic! I like Peggy Lee's version because it's very sensual...but I like this version better because it has passion!

  • I love Eva and Peggy Lee's version is great...this is the greatest!!!

  • Fabulous. I bet the writer of this song and artists who have recorded it would, and do, love Eva's version.

  • Babling mongoose.

You're wrong, I dont force my opinion upon others...., Just say that a forum is about expressing yourself without hurting people. That's what I dit, by saying I don't like this version....And then What? Did I commit a "crime". A was just wrong with Peggy Lee...That's it. and if you prefer this version instead of mine...Okay for me...But this doesn't allow you to be disrespectfull. Topic close!!!!!!

  • I get a fever when I hear Eva singing! Or is it just the heat of her burning heart?

(I know that she's already dead but her songs and emotions are immortal.)

  • she's got a good voice, but not appropriate for this kind of song. Listen to the original version of Peggy Lee. This song has to be sung with a smooth tone...not by crying loud...sorry I don't like it.

  • @MichCine1 well she covered it, Little Willie John(original), Buddy Guy, and Eva all treat it the same...so apparently thats how its supposed to be sung.

  • @MichCine1

See, Peggy Lee didn't do the original version in the first place, so please get your facts straight before you force your opinion on other people.

  • @MichCine1 you are crazy, she is amazing, her versions of every song she does are better than the original, shame she died so early!

  • @chip31970 nt betr thn this original but this song is pure wow!

  • Oh my good grief.

  • its sad this dosent even get 1 million views when justin biebers crap gets half a billion views -__- sad sad world

  • It's so stupid... I hear this amázing song! I'm entirely blown away. I replay it ten times. And all I can do is click this tiny button with a thumbs up and a "like" on it. *click* "Thank you, this is my judgement."

Dammit, I want a BIG button to HIT! I want FIREWORKS when I express how I feel about this song!

  • Beautiful! Please everyone watch my cover one of her songs :) thankyou hope you enjoy xx

  • Best version EVER!!

  • A voice of pure velvet with a true midas touch. Everything she did was just simply stunning.

  • I do not understand how one could dislike this version of the song! This woman has a voice that transports you, that makes you feel....she has mad soul!!!!

  • I love how everyone's having a polite, humble debate about the quality of Eva over Nora, and Peggy. Jazz lovers are obviously much classier than others :D

  • I think the pics don't match the music. Also her voice is not sensual for this song, in my humble opinion

  • Amazing!

  • One of the most talented female musicians to grace this earth.

  • Eva's Fever just gave me a braingasm. FevaAaAaAaAaAah!

  • Lord have mercy. Girl got pipes.

  • @kingofthemosh - Shown NUFF ! NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH . PURE, RAW, TALENT .

The Lady was BAD, and still is to those that enjoy her board range .

  • @kingofthemosh DAMN!!!

  • may replace my peggy lee version in my heart.

    69thebear1

  • Who were the 12 idiots that disliked this? They have some serious issues. And I'm the biggest Elvis fan in the world, but this version is better.

  • @UncleQuinn 12 people need to learn good music when they here it lol i still like the 'big band' style that michael buble does with this song - but there's no better than miss eva, her voice is the best!

  • @UncleQuinn Eva Cassidy's rendition of "Fever" is brilliant, but I could do without the slide show. Perhaps some of those expressing dislike for the piece were doing so because they don't like some of the images. But as far as music goes , many people have bad tastes. Just look at the top pop sellers.

  • When I heard this I didn't think it was her. Most probably because I just had two early CD's and was used to her voice in those songs. Great touch with the violin playing the "bass" chops. Such a versatile voice.

  • she has a good voice, doubtless, but this version is not really... sensational :/

  • wow, never stops to amaze me.. Her voice gives me shills! Love it!

  • best rendition of any song i've ever heard, i actually prefer it to the original...its sooo....

  • This is the most amazing version of this song I have ever heard. Absolutely incredible! Thanks so much for putting this up.

  • WOW what an amazing voice. I am inpressed, and she didn't kill the song.

  • F-ING AMAZING !!!!

  • As a Music Major getting ready to graduate. She is AMAZING. I have sung numerous amounts of her song and love it. Her musicality is Phenomenal.

  • Ew gross

  • @demiandlilyrox gtfo

  • Just when I think I've heard it all from Eva, another 'sumthin'' sneaks up. In that way she'll always be with me...In my head & my heart. I sure hope they get that movie started! I hear that Kate Winslet is being courted. That'd be so nice! Eva deserves nothing less!

  • Eva Cassidy was an amazing singer. She did some incredible versions of songs like Songbirds and Fields of Gold, but Fever belongs to Peggy Lee in my opinion. She owned that song, was responsible for the arrangement and additional lyrics. I prefer Fever in the sensual style of Peggy Lee.

  • Beautiful voice.

    I miss her <3

  • damn, how i love her arrangements. so pure, her brill voice pierces your ear even more.

  • omg, this is so fucking awesome :D I am totally in love with it :D

  • Whoa! When she does that high-pitched "Fever!", it gives me chills!

  • A little of sweetness and peace in our rough world.which voice

  • Music and lyrics by Eddie Cooley and Otis Blackwell; credited to Eddie Cooley and the pseudonym John Davenport; additional lyrics by Peggy Lee

  • @thekelli2k Peggy did not write the song. She added the "Captain Smith and Pokahontus" verse. It is generally credited to Eddie Cooley and the great Otis Blackwell (using his stepfathers name, John Davenport), but Joe Tex, Titus Turner and Little Willie John have all laid claim to it. If you can, check out Little Willie John's version, IMHO it is the best i've heard.

  • This is the best version of this song I had ever heard- beats the socks off of Peggy Lee!

  • @DAVIDAPPLE Eva's got a great voice -- except when she starts those obligatory vocal fireworks that all younger artists do today to show off their scales -- the equivalent of a cat in heat. Peggy Lee was a sultry lady with a smooth voice ... the equivalent of great sex. Peggy just sang the damn song without the American Idol fail. Peggy DID write the song after all.

  • @jballew37 I just found out that Peggy didn't write it, but she made it famous and came to own it.

  • Comment removed

  • @jballew37 Are you implying that Eva Cassidy at times sings like an American Idol or a cat in heat...if so then perhaps you need to go to a doctor and have your ears check...yes I agree that at times Eva shows off her vocals scales but when she does it is crystal clear and magical, far from sounding like a cat in heat it sends chills down my spine. While Peggy Lee may have a smooth voice compared to Eva Cassidy it is quite boring and like great sex puts me to sleep.

  • @jballew37 One more comment you wrote..."Eva's got a great voice -- except when she starts those obligatory vocal fireworks that all younger artists do today to show off their scales"...Are you aware that Eva Cassidy has been dead since 1996 so making a reference to younger artists of today when discussing her voice is a little stupid.

  • @Steven197450 Hey, you like Eva, I like Peggy. I also like Eva. That's our RIGHT, son. In the '80s, I think singers became Whitney Houston wannabees and started caterwauling occasionally, thinking that was singing. It was the zeitgeist of the day ... To me it's making us pay for their scale practice. Many good singers would suddenly break out into a screech. I often wish they would just stop and sing the damn song instead of desecrating it. Eva wasn't so guilty, but rarely she would overextend..

  • @jballew37 OK dad, you maybe 100% correct about the a style that started in the 80s with singers trying to be Whitney Houston wannabees but I was commenting on the voice of Eva & I have never heard of anyone that comes close to Eva as far as nailing a song in such an emotional way over & over again song after song & I maintain that anyone comparing Eva's voice to an American Idol or a cat in heat needs to have their ears checked, can you give us an example where Eva sounds like a cat in heat?

  • @jballew37 Peggy did not write the song. She added the "Captain Smith and Pokahontus" verse. • @DAVIDAPPLE Check out Little Willie John's version!

  • Brilliant!

  • DAMN!... I CAN FEEL HER IN MY BONES!..

    JUST BEAUTIFUL!...

  • What an incredibly gifted woman Eva was! I've listened to everything she's ever done that I could get my hands (or ears) on. She just does everything excellently.

  • Yea

  • Oh yes! I think I have a fever too. Wow!

  • amazing.

  • Her voice just goes directly to your heart. Amazing.

  • My favourite song <3 <3 <3

  • I've got a fever !

  • listen and closed your eyes incredible !!!!

  • OMFG.. dis is ammmazing, and da best version!!!... even better than peggy lee and beyonce(much respect 2 both)

  • Gives me chills....

  • god i luv eva... really really reeeeaaalllyyy go0o0o0o0od.

  • That fever note! WOW!

  • @TheTMC12 That's what perfetion feels like.

  • @TheTMC12 perfection. I hate spelling errors.

  • How can you listen to her and not feel it in your bones? Music is my drug and Eva is the only vocal talent who ever made me want to buy music that was purely for the voice. The musicians with her are pros but she is addictive.

  • This reminds me that angels still walk the earth... at least in song. Truly in a class of her own, within her music, Eva never stopped singing from her soul. She pushes the song beyond expectation - it is just undeniably beautiful.

  • Just brings me back the JIVE. Thankzzzzzzz

  • Littlegreenbag, you sure said it like it is, people need to shutup, with the negative insults. Long live Eva's talent, through her songs. She will always be adored!!

  • I love this <3

  • DONT FORGET ABOUT GEORGETOWN USA!!!!

  • Eva did Peggy Lee proud. Thumbs down to Maddona, Beyonce, and Christina versions.

  • @Sage99

Totally... I mentioned that on the Beyonce page... didn't end well...

  • It remind me of nice period of my life. Wgat a shame she is not with us anymore. Good sound track for a night with your beloved!

  • THE LADY did what she had to do !!!!!!

  • Wow! Absolutely breathtaking!

  • absolutely amazing xO !!! Perfect voice, perfect tachnique.

  • Man she could sing the phone book. What a talent and voice. God bless her. Taken far too young

  • Wow - what an amazing voice! Eva could sing anything - such a raw talent with the most beautiful, soulful voice :)

  • Never mind, found it. still love this girl's pipes though- wow!

from DarkLordOTheSith: Despite the fact that Otis Blackwell, a black man born in Brooklyn, died in Nashville, Tennessee, Elvis never met the man.

They released Elvis version of Fever in 1960 after William Edward John A.K.A. Little Willie John (1956), Ray Peterson (1957), Peggy Lee (1958), and Frankie Avalon (1959).

  • i like this- she re-interpreted it to her own style, but not over the top. is this originally Peggy Lee's song? i know Elvis did it, but who's is it originally?

  • @angiebelle454 Little Willie John?

  • grandios!! only Elvis could do it better!!

  • sultryyy

  • wonderfull voice!

    i looooove her !

  • love this ! xx

  • This is at the top of the list! Awsome! So wish she was still with us.

  • @TheLilly1130 She is still with us...in hearts ,song and YOUTUBE....and she is still the soul of everysong that she sang...love you eva..

  • Simply, wow!

  • Wonderful wan't she, so simply presented so natural with a simple backing, she is no longer with us unfortunately. Have a listen to a version by an unknown scottish singer Kirsty Bowie, on utube, who has a similar pure voice (not the same) with simple guitar backing. I keep listening to it. Tell me what you think .

  • "Takes these arms I won't use them" Did she throw in some lyrics from 'All Of Me'?? That was cheeky.... and awesome!!!! R.I.P

  • @Mattycnw No, those lyrics were in the original Fever. Look it up sung by Little Willie John (the writer). I'm not sure which song was written first. It's what I thought, too, when I heart LWJ sing it:-D

  • @TreasureOne OOPs, no, written by Otis Blackwell. First sung by LWJ. Amazing interpretation.

  • Totally gonna arrange a jazz band cover of this... So proud to be named after her!

  • Gibt es eine schönere Version?

  • I'm going to dance to this song for my school dance recital. There is know other version that would be so perfect to dance to as this one.

  • Los ángeles que cantan nunca deberían regresar al cielo.

  • Everyone says Elvis was a musical genius and he was but this wonderful lady was every bit his equal, who knows maybe even a little bit better.

She could sing anything any style, damn she was really, really good.

  • @Hutzjohn How can you even COMPARE a real singer like this with Elvis? He wasn't a real singer. A real showman, yes. A sex symbol, yes. NOT a singer. Anything musical he had was a poor imitation of the Black musicians he heard in Memphis. Hardly any range, vibrato you could drive a truck through...

  • @TreasureOne Get real Elvis was not an unknown. Just because you can't hear the depth he put into his singing doesn't mean everyone can't. But this is not to take anything away from Eva, she was possibly/probably the best female singer ever. And it take a lot for me to put anyone ahead of Patsy Cline.

  • @Hutzjohn Sorry, but so can Christina Aguilera; She sings rock, pop, soul, jazz, blues, gospel - you name it. And yes, I think that her latest record sucks bigtime, but hey, everybody makes mistakes. And she is, in my opinion, the greatest singer in the world.
