According to Yusif Ali's transliteration which i believe to be the most accurate since he uses hadith with the translation, verse 4:34 says:
Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.
No doubt I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. It is outright dishonesty to ask such a question, and it is well noted.
The Quran in Sura 4:34 says:
Men are managers of the affairs of women because Allah has made the one superior to the other.

I think the issue of divorce is a bad example, in Christianity both male and female commit a sin if they divorce there partner.
There is no discrimation between them in this regard.

I think woman who remain in Islam or convert to Islam have a very low self image.
Something that is often passed on generation to generation or it's simply part of the culture in which they are brought up.
After slavery was abolished in the USA many former slaves longed to be back in slavery.
I think it's a process of emancipation.
Learning or discovering ones own value as a human being.

Muslim women can choose their faith.
Muslim women and men cannot marry Hindu or non believers.
Men can marry (other than Muslim women) true Christians and true Jewish.
Muslim Women are not allowed to marry Christian or Jewish guys, as long as they're Muslims.
cuz the Muslim man will give his wife absolute religion freedom.
But we cannot guarantee that the Christian or Jewish man will give his Muslim woman the same religion freedom.

If a Christian woman would marry a Muslim according to Islam ,she would be committing adultery.
Unless they marry according to Christian rites.
Christians can in this regard marry anyone of any religion.
As long as it's done under Christian rites of marriage.
In this regard Christians are more free then Muslims are.
